Pump 18 would not work. I go in and tell the clerk and ask her to switch pumps for me. She tells me I hit cancel and to try again. I told her I didn't hit cancel and asked to switch pumps. She said I did and assured me it would work (as though I have never pumped gas before). I go and try again and it still will not work. I go back to the clerk frustrated and ask her to switch pumps for me because 18 is not working. This time she rambles something to the guy that takes out the trash in Spanish and says nothing to me. I had to say "hello mam" three times before she would answer me. Instead of honoring my request she asked me to follow the trash guy supposing him to know more about the complex use of a gas pump. Well...he too could not get the pump to work. I asked for my money back and went to another gas station. What a waste of time!!! read more

My car was very dirty so I stopped by this car wash. I purchased the works and asked if it didn't get it as clean as I want, if I could run it again for free. The cashier said sure. Well it didn't clean very well so I ended up scrubbing from the first wash. I went back inside to run the car through once more and they refused to let me run it through again! WTF! One other time my car was so dirty, I went through the Costco car wash- he was going to let me run through the wash as many times as I needed to get my car clean. Gas station is located in a convenient spot. There are a lot of pumps with a car wash if you need to get your car washed. They do have a convenience store, but it is a little on the slim side. They are open 24 hours, but after hours the attendant traps himself/herself in a register jail. It's weird, but I guess it works. read more

this is where i used to always fill my car with gas until i moved to 76 conoco phillips since it gives me way better highway mpg and strategically located behind my house in la mesa this place is also the benchmark of the cheapest gas price at all time if it's 3.11 like today, that means that's the cheapest that you can find around, the 76 pump will also use this price as well anyway i never tried to use the car wash though, coz i love my car. if i love my car, i would touch it myself rather than having some machine do it for me. and if i don't love my car, i'd definitely fill it with arco read more

Waited for 20 min with 2 cars left in front of me and the car wash broke down on 4/16; not that it broke down because no one can control what happens with machines. It was the fact no one came out to us...I was the 3rd one to come in before, I found out it was broken. I had to tell the 4 cars behind me it's broken to back up and let us out. Went in for refund. One girl on the phone (regarding car wash being broken), and the other just sitting and watching. Then they told a guy to take their code to other car wash and ask them to give another code (another Chevron down the street). I asked for money back and said, how disappointing to wait 20 min to break down....the girl said well it can take 6-7 min per car and went on and on as I walked away.....So my fault to wait was the moral of her explanation! This is one of the best touch free car washes in town. The Vacuum station has plenty of space. The basic wash was $7...not bad

price is terrific, the water for windshield is always clean and soapy! coffee is fresh and the service is ok. ALSO, the car wash is pretty decent, its great for high gloss cars like mine...... read more

What a waste of time and money. Got a $7 wash and the machine did not get my car even 50% clean. I took the managers outside and showed them my front door panel was still filthy. I showed them my hand after I ran it over the door panel and they saw it was filthy but they refused to let me go through again or get my money back. They seemed to not care either and were giving my attitude. There are good car wash places around for about the same price so need to waste time and money here. read more

OK gas station. I get my fill ups at Costco so I don't get my fuel here. But the place is clean and decent convenience selections.

They did it again today. The sign said one thing (3.67) and the pump price was actually higher (3.76). This is the second time at this place! The other Chevron a couple blocks away, also on Balboa, also did this a couple months ago. Are they owned by the same guy or something? Yuck. I went into the store yesterday evening to purchase a car wash. The male cashier behind the counter asked me multiple times to repeat my request with a smile. Tired and caught off guard, I told him I had a long day at work and just wanted to get my code. He then proceeded to wax philosophical bullshit about how we only have one life to live etc. I was so annoyed I couldn't even force my facial muscles to muster up a fake smile. He then condescendingly demonstrated a smile with a creepy scraggly tooth grin as if I didn't know how to. Honestly in hindsight I should've left right after he made that ridiculously sexist request especially since the "ultimate car wash" still left me with a dirty car and water spots. I was even planning on utilizing their self-vacuuming services but was so unsatisfied with my experience up to that point I ditched the idea. I'll be taking my business to one of the many other car wash / vacuum places on Balboa. read more

Worst place to get gas...lines are long and the attendants are rude. The gas costs more than others so dont waste your time. Drive another block for better service and cheaper gas. read more

The car wash display encourages you to enter your code while the car ahead of you is still inside the wash, which apparently makes it your fault if that person doesn't leave the car wash when they are done, and uses your wash in addition to theirs. We paid for a "Works" wash but ended up with the regular wash of the person behind us--while my husband drove through, I got out of the car and tried to tell the employees what happened but it seems the customer is always wrong at this Chevron. The manager didn't care what happened because when my husband went in, it started (on the next person's regular wash code, of course). Differences in cost between "Works" and the less comprehensive washes notwithstanding, eventually someone behind us will have not gotten a wash, and I hate to think what that poor person will have to endure to get their car washed. I distinctly remember having to go inside and get another code another time (and then wait all over again at the back of the line), so I'm now thinking that this is what had happened.
