LIterally , here is "Johnny on the spot!" - You can recognize John by his bright sunglasses and even brighter smile.

I think this is the first gas station we have ever reviewed- and it's nice to be able to say an old quote, "service with a smile" - which was true for this young man who seems to be everywhere at once! His name is "John" and today when asked if he could help with our gas card, he was "Johnny on the spot." It's great when we are reminded of a time when folks really did want to be of service.

Located in Mission Valley; 2345 Fenton parkway, San Diego, CA 92108. This location is very very busy; I try to go before 7am because the gas line wraps around the block. Decent prices for Costco members. I believe they open at 0530; they have attendant around to help in case you need them. It's right behind McDonalds. I like that they have neon sign on top of the gas pump to let you know if the spot is free or occupied. Usually green for a free spot or red for being occupied. Thanks for reading my review, have a fantastic day!

COSCTO GAS, MISSION VALLEY! This costco gas is always super helpful, extremely easy to locate and go through. The people there are always nice if you need any help, the gas is cheap ranging from Regular $4.26. I'd highly recommend going through the week days and never on the weekends. Sundays are the worst for gas days where there's an intersection to get on the right furthest lane for gas, and there's two lanes to enter, making it super slow, and wasted time sitting in traffic. Other than that, the price is good, parking is easy if you go around Costco, and it's always clean, and easy to navigate through lines.

In my opinion, I think Mission Valley's Costco line for gas is organized to make it easier to get in and out of the gas fueling pumps/stations. There's ONE destination line just for refueling! Costo's lines for gas in Rancho Del Rey are AWFUL!! At Rancho Del Rey, cars are trying to "pass" the Costco lines the same time cars are trying to turn into the gas lines can be so hectic !!

Best gasoline prices in San Diego... I believe that in every city, Costco has the lowest gasoline prices. My initial plan was to fill up at the Carlsbad location - on my way to LA in the afternoon. During dinner with fellow Yelp Elites, Ryan and Emmett, they advised me to go before closing time, but after the main Costco store closes. Smart thinking! The line will be shorter at night! Why wait in a long line in the afternoon heat? These guys are akamai!!! We were having dinner near this particular location, so I drove over (after cruising Fashion Valley Mall). There are many pumps... I would guess that there are about twenty? The lines moved quickly! I was done in a minute! Thanks, Emmett and Ryan for the sound advice! I'll remember that for future visits!

Gas prices in California in general make me puke myself, so getting gas at Costco is like only getting slightly queasy. 10/10

There are busy times, for sure. But overall, lines move quickly. Costco is pretty efficient. And you can't beat the price.

We know exactly what the detailing service is supposed to look like because we've received it hundreds of times. My husband had his vehicle detailed yesterday and it looks amazing. I had the same service done today, and my car came back with visible dog hair throughout the interior and seats that had clearly not been cleaned. The photos speak for themselves. What disappointed me most was how the situation was handled. When we brought it to their attention, we were first told the car had dog hair when it was dropped off (which is exactly why I brought it in for a detail). Then we were told it had actually been detailed properly. Then we were told we had only paid for the basic detail service, which was not true. The employee who came out to speak with us was completely unhelpful and dismissive. His solution was for both my husband and me (had to be both of us!) to come back at 8:00 AM the next morning to speak with "Mr. Jon." When I asked whether there was a time window we could come in, I was told 8:00 AM and that's it. After five years of detailing services and countless referrals to friends, family, and coworkers, I expected much better customer service. A bad detail can be fixed. What can't be undone is being treated like a problem instead of a customer. If you're considering bringing your vehicle here, I'd think twice. The quality of service clearly depends on who works on your car that day, and if something goes wrong, don't expect accountability.

On 03/25/2026 around 9:36 PM, I made a small purchase (~$8) and paid with a $50 bill. The cashier listed on my receipt, Imelda, questioned my payment and repeatedly asked if I had smaller bills or could use a card. That already felt unnecessary, since cash is accepted and breaking a $50 for a small purchase is standard at most gas stations. What stood out more was the change I received. I was given $41.92 mostly in $1 bills, even though larger denominations were clearly available. As someone who has worked at a gas station before, I understand how registers and safes operate, this didn't feel like a limitation, but more of a decision that prioritized convenience over customer service. This isn't about the money, it's about the experience. Situations like this slow things down, make customers feel unwelcome, and reflect a lack of basic service standards. For other customers: just be aware you might get an unnecessarily difficult transaction if you're paying with larger bills. For management: this appears to be a training issue. Employees should be equipped to handle common transactions efficiently and fairly without pushing inconvenience onto customers. Hoping this gets addressed, because it's an easy fix and would make a big difference.
