My husband and I have been getting our vehicles washed and detailed here just about every other week for the last five years. We know exactly what the detailing service is supposed to look like because we've received it hundreds of times. My husband had his vehicle detailed yesterday and it looks amazing. I had the same service done today, and my car came back with visible dog hair throughout the interior and seats that had clearly not been cleaned. The photos speak for themselves. What disappointed me most was how the situation was handled. When we brought it to their attention, we were first told the car had dog hair when it was dropped off (which is exactly why I brought it in for a detail). Then we were told it had actually been detailed properly. Then we were told we had only paid for the basic detail service, which was not true. The employee who came out to speak with us was completely unhelpful and dismissive. His solution was for both my husband and me (had to be both of us!) to come back at 8:00 AM the next morning to speak with "Mr. Jon." When I asked whether there was a time window we could come in, I was told 8:00 AM and that's it. After five years of detailing services and countless referrals to friends, family, and coworkers, I expected much better customer service. A bad detail can be fixed. What can't be undone is being treated like a problem instead of a customer. If you're considering bringing your vehicle here, I'd think twice. Not impressed -- especially for $50. It feels like corners were cut and the job just wasn't done thoroughly. Inside, the cleaning was minimal at best. Dust and dirt are still sitting in the vents, center console, cup holders, and floor mats. The interior looked like it was barely wiped down. Outside wasn't much better. The wheels still had gunk on the spokes, and the tire shine was sprayed onto the trim without being wiped off. The inside edges of the doors (where the door meets the frame) were left dirty, and leaves were still sitting under the hood near the windshield wipers. The pricing also doesn't quite make sense to me. The "Gold Package" is $40 for most cars and $50 for SUVs. I drive a Subaru Forester, which is on the small side -- no third row, no extra-large interior -- but it's still charged as if it's a big SUV. If I could give zero stars, I would. I paid for the Gold Car Wash at this Shell location which clearly states that interior and exterior cleaning is included. What I received was nothing short of a complete scam. My car was handed back to me exactly the same way I brought it in. They didn't even bother to vacuum properly -- the seats and carpets were still covered in dog hair, the floor mats were filthy, and every door panel and cup holder compartment was still dirty. They didn't wipe anything, didn't clean anything, and didn't even remove the small trash that was inside the car. It was painfully obvious that no interior cleaning was done at all. I essentially paid for a full service and got zero interior wash, not even the basics. This place is either completely negligent or intentionally ripping people off. Do yourself a favor and avoid this car wash at all costs. There are plenty of other places in San Diego that actually respect customers and deliver what they promise. After not being in SD for a few years, I was really disappointed with the service I received today. This used to be my go to place, but $40.00 for a wash that only made it look like the dust was removed from the truck, is not what I was expecting. They did not scrub the roof of my truck, it was very dirty, it was still full of the yellow bug poop on the hood, roof, and front end of the truck. Streaks on a black truck are very noticeable (had those). Not the place I remember coming to. Sad. I will continue to go to the place close to where I currently live. I get much better quality work for about half the price, actually cheaper. It isn't about the money, it is about the quality and I don't mind paying for it, as long as you deliver. Went for an oil change and asked about a repair to the plastic part under the engine. They got the oil change done 25 minutes before their estimate and they reattached the plastic guard for no extra charge. Came with a car wash too. This is the only place I've found that is honest about cost, does not attempt to overcharge for an oil change, and doesn't try to make you pay for unnecessary repairs or upgrades. I used to come here often but the last 2 times I've come the quality of service is appalling. I understand it's on the cheaper side, but if they're saying that they are going to clean it, it should be done. I took it there yesterday for the $39.99 wash and I left looking like my car had not even been cleaned. They did not clean the inside of the back window at all and the windows they did clean they did with a soaking wet rag (I was watching him) and it left dirty steak/water rag marks all over the windows. 5 stars for the car wash! They always do a great job and offer a nice menu of services to customize the services you're looking for. I get the gold wash + external armor all for all the outside trim. I love that it's a hand wash vs running thru a machine with the crazy flappers hitting your car all over. Convenient location between the 15 and 163. Came In to get a car wash. My car is filled with sands, and only now I find the time to get them cleaned. I was in the cashier booth. I asked the cashier Which one would he recommended he was saying just get the regular ones. A patron there was recommended the hand wash one for his business. I look directly at my trunk and see the sands still where it left itself. I was ticked off and said I specifically asked to get the sand clean because of the "hand wash" $53.99?! I had to drive to the other side and had them redo it, where they missed in the first place?!! Driving a Prius is no lesser than driving an Audi. Especially I am paying a higher price. You get what you pay for, and for $30 my SUV came out looking much nicer than when it arrived. They did a good job on the tires and exterior. Was every single spot removed? No. Could more attention have been paid to the interior? Sure. But c'mon, $30 to avoid auto car wash damage and didn't have to do anything myself or pay a lot more/wait a lot more at a higher end detailing spot. They try to attract you to get gas there by advertising two fuel prices on their large sign and on Gas Buddy. Then when you go there thinking that you're getting a cheap price when you pay cash, if you ask them why you aren't getting the cheaper price at the pump, their answer is that the lower fuel price only applies IF YOU BUY A CAR WASH. read more

$24 for a lousy car wash. Bugs still on the front of the car, spots on the roof, and windows partially washed. When I pointed these items out to the cleaner he said I paid for the cheapest car wash. When I pointed it out to the owner I was told, "that's why we have different levels." With a wet cloth and a little pressure I removed the spots on the roof and on top of the truck and the front grill myself. It's what they should have done. If the marketing plan is to do a terrible job in an attempt to upsell to another level, it's not customer-focused. read more

From the street they have a sign like most gas stations with two prices. What does that mean? Well at pretty much every gas station I've been at all over the country it means cash and credit price. 100% WORST "car wash" ever. I left with my truck looking the same as it was when I got there and BLOOD on my passenger side door. I go to this place because it is advertised as 100% hand wash and normally it is decent with a few streaks or water marks but today zero effort! There is sand and dirt still inside as if there was no vacuum at all. The exterior is as if there was no wash at all or they used no soap and did not scrub/ wipe down at all. There is clear dirt and grime all over the roof, door handles, lower panels of the doors and all along the truck the bumper and truck bed rails. Not only does it seem like they just moved my truck from the vacuum line without any wash; the guy supposedly wiping down my truck from the wash cut himself or something and left blood in the side of my passenger door. I arrived around 1:00 and this disgusting mess took them until 2:45. If it wasn't .25 mins away, about to be traffic time, and if I didn't already spend basically 2 hours there I would go back right now. I paid 40.99 for a streaky window wipe down, half ass window shine with a bloody accessory. WOW!!! I should have paid $10 for the damn drive through laser wash. I get that it gets busy and things get backed up but there is no excuse to pay for a "deluxe wash" at suv/truck price which includes: hand wash with soft mitt, vacuum interior, dash and console dusted, windows cleaned inside and outside, EXTRA attention to bugs & spots, air freshener, leather protectant, armor all interior, tire and wheel treatment. This is all that is listed for the 100% deluxe wash. The roof does not cover over the top of the pumps so if it's raining and you need gas, you are soaked. And the floor underneath isn't flat so there are puddles everywhere including where I stepped out of my car into a puddle the size of my car and now my socks are soaked. It's not an upscale place, but I find they definitely do what they say they are doing and the prices are very reasonable. There are a few options ranging from $16-40+. I have only gotten the $16 "bronze" and my car has always come out looking great. For $21 the silver looks worth it as well, includes tire dressings. read more
