Please explain to me that chevron sells e-gift cards but no chevron will take them. When receiving the digital card by email, when you click the link to open it will open with a 19 digit card number and a 4 digit pin. No barcode, nothing. This chevron is unable to take electronic gift cards. Has to be a physical card so then why does chevron sell these e-cards if they are not expected at multiple locations or their employees lack the knowledge of how to use them. All they have to do is hit gift card and manually type in the 19 digits of the card number and then the safe 4 digit pin. The manager was called in and she did not know even how to do it! Prior to this, I have received multiple other e-gift cards for chevron and this had been my first experience receiving any kind of problem when going to use it. Simply every time they do as what I have stated about and it works! Never all this wasted time driving from location to location to try and use a Chevron e-gift card to purchase gas! Whenever I gas-up here, I encounter one of the following: - clusterf*ck situation, - pump is "out of order", - won't accept my company's gas card, - sf krazy asking for (1) change, (2) wash windows with newspaper, (3) lubricant oil for his shopping cart wheel (i'm not sh*tting you, it happened), - tourist asking for direction (it's okay, I help out), - tanker truck which blocks half of the station, - station only accepts cash due to some electronic glitch But they do have gas, and the car needs it. this chevron station is weird. there were at least two people who asked me for money while i pumped gas. i had one guy block my car door and me from getting out of the car while he wiped the rain from my car windows. he continued to do all of my windows and side mirrors so as i stood there pumping my gas i chatted with him. he asked me for money to buy coffee. he also told me that he hadn't eaten since morning. As many others have noted, don't be surprised if you're approached while pumping your gas; in fact, you should be surprised if you aren't approached. While egress/ingress into this place is actually quite decent, the station feels claustrophobic being situated on the highly-trafficked Van Ness Avenue. A gas station serves a specific: fill up your tank, drive on. This Chevron is no different. It's gas prices are usually the same as the average gas price in SF and it's luckily located on a major street, unfortunately that also becomes congested during traffic time. I fill up $20 at least every time, but no gas station would be complete without mentioning the most despised feature. Homeless people, pan handlers, drug users whatever you want to call them. They infest this location like pigeons being fed at a park by an old man. They ask you to clean yours windows, you say no, yet they persist while the attendant stays behind their cubicle powerless to do anything to better their work area. When I smoked I would go here to buy cigarettes and every time I had to yell at the attendants to explain which one I wanted and how many packs I wanted. You might be wondering how a gas station receives such low ratings. I mean they primarily sell gas, why would it have such a low score? Let me tell you how. After buying over $50 of gas, I think it's quite reasonable to use the restroom especially if we ask nicely. Instead, my husband receives a bunch of f bombs and attitude, which is a whole lot of unnecessary and asked to stand by the restroom and she'll f-ing buzz him in. I understand people have good days and bad days and for the sake of everyone else, stay the f home if you're going to so f-ing crabby! Goodness. If you need to come here, stay away from the heavy set Chinese cashier. She's working today, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 8:30pm. Make sure you use a credit card so you don't have to go in. If I could give this gas station no stars I would have selected that option. This is my second incident and I will not be going back. The customer service is non existent and they do not even seem to care. Today I waited in line at rush hour to refill for several minutes. Then the pump would not accept cards and I was told to go inside to pay. I went inside, paid $40, the clerk assigned my fuel to another pump. I went back in, waited in line again to tell them it did not work and then they had me wait outside for about another 15 minutes for them to resolve the issue with other driver who had to refund the fuel. The issue was not even mine to resolve but they would not release my pump. At the end they did not even release my $40 of fuel. Avoid this gas station. This Chevron station is over run with panhandlers and homeless people. They are obnoxious, aggressive and insulting - getting gas is a very unpleasant experience and the attendant does nothing about it. Last week, a panhandler put a nail in my tire and then pulled it out (without my permission) causing me to get a flat. This all happened in less than 10 seconds, and I could not get him to LEAVE my car. He then wanted MONEY to fix it. I managed to get away, fill it with air and go to a repair shop to get it fixed. But, he was screaming and harassing me the ENTIRE time. The attendant did NOTHING and shame on all the other folks there getting gas who didn't try to step in to stop this guy from harassing me. For whatever reason, Chevron charges you a minimum triple the amount that you purchased if you're using a credit card at their gas pumps. I called and the attendant and she told me they do it for all cards and the refund of the difference is given back to you in two business days. That sounds a bit questionable that a company can over-charge you and then will credit you later. I'd avoid this gas station and it's book-cooking procedure. read more
