Nothing works in this store. The pharmacy is ok, but nothing spectacular about it. The store, on the other hand, is the worst CVS in the bay area. It has a Moneygram kiosk that hasn't worked consistently in years. A good for nothing telephone system that might as well be relocated in a cemetery because even the automated service just leads callers into a dead end. read more

Worst pharmacy ever! After having transferred my prescriptions to a nearby local Newark pharmacy (Clover Pharmacy, which is 100% better) I ended up having to get one prescription at CVS again. I checked online to make sure it was ready. It said it was filled and ready to pick up. Of course the line was long and slow, as usual for this location. Once I reached the counter I was told it was not ready as my insurance didn't cover it. (Wrong). I end up having to go to another line to talk to the person at the drop off counter. I tell her the problem and she tells me she doesn't know what the issue is because my insurance DOES cover it. Now ot will be another 20 minutes for them to fill it so i go sit and wait. As Im watching them, after about 10 minutes someone goes to the refrigerator and there is my prescription that had ALREADY BEEN FILLED!! This is normal operating procedure for this store. Always error prone, laziness, rudeness, slow. Avoid it. read more

My husband and I went into CVS and 9:45 pm. The store is supposed to close at 10 pm but they already shut the power to the door off leaving the door not open automatically. I saw others in the store still shopping and knocked on the door the cashier looked at me than ignored me so a I pried the doors open . I figured I still had thirteen minutes before they close and I knew exactly where the product I was looking for was at. Prior to arriving I called the store to see if they had the product in stock and to verify the time they close. The woman told me the isle it was on and said they closed at 10 . When I pryed the door open thirteen min before they closed and after I was ignored the checker called the manager and reported us coming into the store. She yelled at me and said once the door is disabled we are closed because it's the end of the night its been a long nite and we still have to clean. I said I called 10 min. Prior to coming you guys said you weren't closed until 10 I arrived 15 minutes before closing grabbed my item went to self checkout and was out the door by 956 four minutes before they close. This is why all these businesses are closing down. No customer service improperly managed and lazy workers don't shop there. I have to rate a one because they don't let me give a zero . People like her should not be running a store where there's medications that someone actually needs no matter on how bad her day was or now ...what a joke her name was Shugova I could be misspelling her name any way she claims to be the store manager. I'm really upset. I have radiation for breast cancer five days a week and was trying to pick up some cream for my burns I really didn't need her rudeness or sass. I would really like a response from the district manager as to what will be done differently. I know what id advise you ....fire your so called manager . There's almost always only one register open, which leads to long lines and unnecessary wait times. When customers ask questions, the staff often seem rushed and eager to answer quickly just to move on -- it doesn't feel like genuine customer service. On top of that, there's rarely enough product for the advertised deals. Most of the time, there are only one or two items available for promotions, which is frustrating. I don't think all of this is the staff's fault -- it seems clear they're understaffed and overwhelmed. I was seriously underwhelmed by the service I received at their pharmacy. First they needed "confirmation" from my dentists office to fill my prescription, even though the prescription had literally just been sent to them, so not sure why that was necessary. The office was closing soon and was not answering their phone, so since we live a good 2 hrs from Newark, it obviously needed to be taken care of asap. We ended up having to drive back to my dentist and let them know what was up so they could confirm right away. Again, crazy unnecessary. To make matters worse, they would not accept my goodrx coupon, even after I'd just spent nearly all my funds on emergency dental surgery. The pharmacist's reason? "I'm just not comfortable discounting it since it's a controlled substance." Nice to know that it was *your* decision and therefore your choice not to help me out. read more

I went to pickup pictures and walked up to one of the staff to ask for help. The woman who helped seem to be in a very bad mood. She was being rude for no reason! I literally just entered the store.We got to the counter and she said "one of these days, she'll burn all the pictures." She just didn't seem to want to help customers. I told her I was going to pick up two orders but told me in an annoyed tone that "she can only handle one at a time." So, I said "no problem" as I was trying to be understanding and I just wanted to let her know I had two orders. I wasn't rushing her or anything. But, she seemed so angry and was giving me so much attitude for no reason. Her co-worker was looking at me, embarrassed for her. He was awkwardly laughing/smiling because of what she was saying. Unprofessional and Vulgar language used in the open area where pharmacy technicians gather. Usually the pharmacy technicians are awesome and so chilled. But since the pharmacist is at lunch there is louder conversations with the pharmacy technicians using vulgar language. The one person who is the cashier person looks embarrassed to be assisting the patients that have to hear the other 4 loud and vulgar conversations. Save your time and frustration and drive to the next closest CVS. The shelves are either completely empty or locked cages. Half the store is empty and the employees are miserable. Of the limited items you can find here, they are locked up and you have to wait 15 minutes for someone to help you. Don't even try a pick up order because they won't fill it. They will either just not fill it at all, or they'll cancel it because they don't have the product or anyone to fill the order. The employees are always miserable, you either can't find one or they are standing around complaining. They don't open check outs, they just rely on guests to check themselves out at the self checkout line and heaven forbid you have a return, you'll be sneered at and treated like crap. It's a miserable, 3/4 empty store that really should just be closed down at this point. I would recommend not supporting this store and drive to the next closest one where you might actually find what you need on the shelves and not get treated like an inconvenience. read more

The doctor (mid aged Asian male) today here at the minute clinic was very nice. While I noticed that someone in the vaccination line didn't have insurance, then this CVS charged her more than 60 dollars for Flu and more than 100 dollars for Covid. I believe that Covid should be free regardless of insurance, and the same Flu vaccine at Costco only costs 19.99 dollars. I asked the doctor why the Flu here is so expensive, the doctor told me that here in this CVS the min charge for vaccines is 40 dollars. This is ridiculous and totally unfair. If you don't have a good insurance, just go somewhere else that provide the same vaccines at a much lower price. read more

I do get my med's here and, honestly, I feel bad for the pharmacy workers. They are constantly short-staffed (like so many places like this) and get yelled at constantly by impatient customers. I have always found the workers here kind, pleasant and helpful. The pharmacists are always so nice to answer any questions when I have a new medication. Placed photo order for same day shipping, since we wanted something urgently. when called next day they said order will take a week, even though the photo estimate said order should be ready.
