A bar that's tucked away from busy areas? Check? Pool and games? Check. Fun seating and room to spread out? Check again. Clean bathrooms? CHECK! On a Saturday night, this place was a little busy, mostly from our large (~15 people) party that we brought with us. It was an easy place to hang out for the rest of the night. I really enjoyed the table seating that they have in the middle of the bar, that separates the bar from the tables and pool area. Entertainment: Pool, shuffleboard, darts, a jukebox that you can play music from your phone, and I think I remember seeing gambling machines at the bar? Drink Selection: There was the usual selection of beers on tap. I like Guinness but it wasn't available on tap, no big deal for me though. Vibes: Essentially a dive bar, Chewy's has a relaxed and casual setting, where it's easy to hang out with friends. There's plenty of seating options available; at the bar, some small booths, the high tables near the pool, and table seating on both sides in front of the door. Food: They do serve food, but I wasn't hungry to try anything. Also, with Blind Onion nearby, no one's going hungry here. Some previous reviews mention having good wings? Bathrooms: I had to mention this cause it was so bizarre. The women's bathroom, and only the women's have SUPER high toilets. I consider myself to be tall to average for height, and I had to lift myself up to try to sit on the toilet seat lol. Thankfully everything was clean. I would like to give a one star bc we went there and ordered food we where eating and once we got done we gave her a $10 dollar tip and the next time we went one of the bartenders with glasses and dark hair she kicked us out bc we didn't give her a good enough tip when she didn't do anything she was rude the whole time and we are ban bc we gave her a $10 tip the foods good but the people who work there are rude so I hope this place gets shut down. read more

I was nearby and stopped in for lunch the other day. I was craving a grilled chicken sandwich, so I ordered one to go with fries. The bartender working on Thursday was amazing, I did not catch her name. I killed time at the bar and tested my luck on keno. This sandwich was served on French bread with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. Next time, I'll order it on the side. The fries were amazing and served hot. I had a handful and threw the rest out. I didn't want to eat them all; I easily could have. It's a bar with a grill, some slots, and a few games to play for non gamblers. Although my sandwich had too much mayo, it hit the spot. What a nice change from the gentrified bars you see in the area. This is definitely a local's place. It's fairly bare bones but that's exactly what I'm seeking. The staff is very friendly. The only thing I'd change is for them to update their booths. Some of the seats are broken or uncomfortable. The food is solid and reasonably inexpensive in this economy. Nothing has changed about this place in the 27 years I've been dining and drinking here. It's the same amazing cook and his brother (let them decide which I'm talking about), the same pool table, the same shuffle board table, and the same beautiful people. The food is as good as when I was a kid, the beers shuffle as well but still have they still have the same Sierra Nevada Pale as my dad used to drink. The company is always cheerful, the bartenders for the last ten years at least, are largely the same: invariably a delight. The only new addition they have made is a capable and congruent bartender named Bri who whirls about with ease. This is Reno then and now: charming, friendly, and special. Great place to go during the day and have been a customer for 15 years! However, be prepared for the night shift and total rudeness by the bartenders. I literally spent $400 there and the service was terrible. Bartenders (white male) acted like I was not even there. I was kind and curious and was tipping very well. Okay-so this is a dive bar, but it's a clean dive bar with the best wings in Northwest Reno! It's located in an inconspicuous strip mall with various restaurants and stores. It's a full bar with a small selection of draft beers-but I come here for the wings! You can choose the spice level and they taste freshly made-not frozen. They don't have a ton of breading on them-which I hate! Perfect amount of crispy and mix of drums and flats. I really like this place. It is a local neighborhood bar with great food and the people are usually pretty cool. Outside screams strip mall. Inside is classic with pool tables, jukeboxes, and a shuffleboard. My family comes once a week. I love the club sandwich. During Covid I've been very hesitant to go out and eat/ get drinks, but I decided to get some hot wings. As always, these wings are very good and have a good flavor! The takeout always has delicious ranch and some veggies. The only thing I would change would be to add some more sauce and make the wings less dry. The food is just your typical bar food. The comps on gaming really suck. I hit 2 natural 4 of a kind and did not receive any free spins like you would any where else. I spent $200. The bartender did try to help me but no response from owner. I will not be going back. I will spend my money where the food is better and comps are better. Yeah.... went there around dinner time to check it out. There was one bartender, one dude in the kitchen and five extremely drunk people climbing (literally) all over the bar. Bad country music on the jukebox. I ordered a chicken sandwich. The menu said it would be a "generous" hunk of meat. When I got it, it was a soggy roll with a teensy-tiny little piece of half-burned chicken on it. By "tiny" I mean it was less than two ounces. Almost nonexistent. How the cook thought that qualified as a chicken breast, I have no idea. Totally not going back there again. Maybe it's a good place to go get tanked at 4pm, but if you want to eat a decent burger and drink some beer without having to listen to drunk people screaming over bad music, go to Brickie's. read more

I doubt we'll be back. We've been here several times for drinks but this was our first crack at their "world famous burgers". I ordered the Out and In with cheese with onion rings instead of fries, Mr got the Western with fries. My burger was so small; like a mini hockey puck. The bun totally fell apart around it leaving me with a sloppy mass to try and navigate. I hate this more than anything! It doesn't matter how fresh, delicious, unique, etc. your ingredients are if it all falls apart while I'm trying to eat it. The Thousand Island was good (I think?) but it didn't matter as most of it, slathered all over the too big bun, ended up in a pile on my plate. A total fail. I thought that was especially odd because the patty for Mr's burger was clearly bigger, meeting the diameter of the bun. But he remarked that he wished it would've been smaller because it was awful...No flavor to the toppings or meat and one side of the patty was burnt. The onions in the onion rings were sliced so very thinly that we couldn't taste them at all. It was fried batter with half a string of onion to hold it together basically. I cracked one in half and the onion was seriously a hairs width, if that. Impressive knife skills for anything other than a battered onion ring. The Sysco fries were the best thing about our lunch...that really says it all. When we've been in the past for drinks we've had service ranging from the not friendly, not quite rude bare minimum (pour drink, take money, repeat) to the straight up rude (I'm trying to chat with the cute guy and make tips, quit bothering me for a refill). I've been coming here off and on for years. And you really have to be a regular to get any sort of service. We walked in, and sat down at the bar in front of some slot machines. I would say we sat there for about 5 to 8 minutes before the bar tender asked us what we would like to drink. We got 2 glasses of wine, and proceeded to gamble a bit. There was a shift change between the bar tenders. When the new one came on, he asked if we were good on drinks to which we said that we would need a refill very soon, and then asked for a menu. The bar tender brought the menu over, and went to the other patrons at the bar. I would say there were probably 8 people total in the bar. Then both bar tenders (the one getting off shift and the one getting on shift) go outside to smoke. Now, at this point we've been without drinks for a good 10 minutes, and have not given our food order. The bar tenders took their time outside smoking. It was probably 15 minutes by the time we were empty, to the time the bar tender gave us a refill. Then he came back for our order. I had a Ranch Chicken Sandwich. This comes with ranch, chicken, poblano chiles, and I'm pretty sure provolone cheese and a side of sweet potato fries. Side note I ordered this with out a bun as I don't eat bread. Emily ordered a Chef's salad. About 15 to 20 minutes later my food came up, regular fries which the bar tender said the chef messed that up and is making sweet potato fries for me. Now, here's my biggest issue with 80% of the restaurants that I go to. It seems that chefs/cooks don't know what to do with sauce when a sandwich or burger is ordered without bread. So they just choose to eliminate this. Hi, I still want the sauce. Lather it on the piece of meat. Needless to say there was no ranch on my ranch chicken sandwich, nor was there any cheese. I still ate it and it was still good. Luckily I had ordered a side of ranch for my fries. So I sat there waiting to eat as Emily had not received her salad. Of course she told me to eat as my food was warm and hers would be cold. I begin eating and we hear one of the bar tenders say "it's a chef salad, make it a chef". To which we know it's going to end up being longer for her to get her food. I was pretty much done with my meal by the time her salad came out. Which is crazy as nothing had to be cooked. And there were still only about 4 other people in the bar besides us. It was not a busy night. The Chef Salad finally comes out, it had ice burg lettuce, some cut up deli ham, a sprinkle of cheese and a side of ranch. And croutons throughout the whole salad, completely mixed in. Emily is gluten intolerant, and can't eat croutons. There was no way she'd be able to pick them all out. And last time I checked croutons don't typically come on a chef salad. Needless to say, she was unable to eat it. The bar tender said there was a bit of a communication error with the cook, and asked if she wanted anything else, to which she said no. He didn't have us pay for the salad which was the right thing to do. At this time I just don't know that I'll be going back here. I really get the vibe that if you're not a regular they just don't seem to care about you. They would rather hang out with the people that come in there all the time, and would rather wait on them. I have money to spend and money to tip, but if you ignore me and get orders wrong I have no desire to tip you. It was a frustrating trip to say the least. read more

It's right next to the laundromat which is why we go. The food is good! However, the tap doesn't taste cleaned and the fact that you can taste it means it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. That is the only complaint I have, unfortunately it's a biggie though. It makes me question how not clean everything is behind the bar. read more

This is another place that my boyfriend and I go to while we do our laundry...And I always have a nice experience. The barteneder is really, really nice and cool and everytime we go in we get some sort of entertainment. tonight we got to watch a beligerient fool bully another poor guy.
