After a brief introduction, my son then went right into his lesson. When I arrived to pick my son up at the end of camp today, he was filling a horse trough and helping with the grooming of Skittles; the newest horse at the stable. This camp/ stable provides lessons without the "fluff". Sydney (the owner) is very direct, open and honest about what it takes to learn to ride and care for a horse. Within the first day, my son learned how to care for a horse as well as was able to trot on a horse without an equestrian saddle. *COVID protocols are followed during the pandemic

Deirdre and her husband combine their strengths to make the dream team. They are constantly educating themselves and working with other subject matter experts in the equine facility to ensure the horses get the very best care. Nutrition, vet care, farrier work, body care, etc. Keeping the facility organized and providing clear communication to boarders and clients. Even holding barn meetings prior to implementing changes or upcoming seasonal changes. Deirdre is amazing with the horses. And while her focus is Dressage, she works to bring in jumping, western, & even equine vaulting trainers. Her clients range from casual owners up to those who show. He caught a lameness issue that I had suspected but couldn't put a finger on. Subsequently, I've always had the best of follow-up services from his practice, including his very hospitable and cheerful assistants who take appointments. He is a mobile vet and has a well-equipped modern truck with x-ray machine and medical equipment. As someone who moved to Texas from a big city back East, I especially appreciate the fact that he and his staff are tech-savvy - my horse's x-rays are given to me right away, on a thumb drive, so that I can monitor records on my laptop. I will never forget once my horse came down with a very mild bacterial infection of the eye. Dr Moore bent over backwards to meet me in some parking lot halfway between where he was located, and where I was, just so I could get the medicine right away and stop the infection from worsening. I couldn't even get this level of attention from my own human doctor! Although he was our primary equine vet, I recently learned that he is focusing solely on equine dentistry, which keeps him busy as it is. I highly recommend him for floats, and especially if you have any complex equine dental problems, Dr Moore would be your best bet around these parts. Would like to add that I'm not a friend, relative or social acquaintance of this doctor - just a very satisfied client!

He outlined what he was doing before he did anything and was very patient with all of my many questions. The traffic to get here is a little bit of pain but I have been feeling overall better. I enjoy the use of equine into my therapy because I am huge animal lover. I never realized that horses can have such a vital role in helping me in my progress but ever time I leave here to head home my mind is in a better place. Interestingly enough, I had taken a sensory processing test during my evaluation and found out things about myself that I had come to live with throughout my life. I would have loved to have this type of therapy when I was a child but back in the 80s this would have been laughed at. At least back in Ohio where I grew up.

Sent us home with an anti inflammatory and antibiotics. 14 days after the meds were gone, we called and advised the mass had not shrunk. We came in and paid for a biopsy but the vet could not get one. We were told it was scar tissue from an unknown injury and nothing to worry about. $500 total with no biopsy. We since got a second opinion, and the dog has Cancer. When we followed up with Dr, Douglas, the receptionist said the surgeon who is there once a week was indeed concerned after relooking at the picture. There were lots of mixed signals and we could have lost our dog. We would not return to this Dr.
