We have 3 dogs and 2 cats, so we've tried out a lot of vets and spend more time in these offices than we'd like. This is by far the best vet we have ever found. The staff is always cheerful and welcoming. You can tell everyone here truly cares about the animals. And to top it off, the prices are incredibly reasonable! Dr. Kniffen takes a conservative approach to treatments. At times, he has suggested buying things at a drug store to save money (like Benadryl and a humidifier). He doesn't jump into doing a bunch of tests, X-rays, ultrasounds and the like, unless it's truly warranted. Unfortunately, that seems to be very uncommon with veterinarians these days--it's like they want to milk every dime out of you that they can. I would recommend Highway 79 to anyone looking for a good vet with reasonable pricing. This might be one of the few places left that hasn't been taken over by a big corporation.

It is highly important to be pleasant and polite with customers at all times since they're the ones that put your bread and butter on the table. The staff however is nice. But as far as pet medications go, for the medication that was needed, it was double the cost of what I found it to be elsewhere. However, on the vet clinic's web site that they want you to order from, triple the cost. I don't know why "greed" has to enter the picture. Why not charge affordable prices and thus show love of neighbor since many out there are struggling to make ends meet?

Dear White Rock Team,…read more  I wanted to take a moment to express just how deeply grateful I am for every single one of you. Your kindness, patience, and genuine care have meant more to me than I can fully put into words.   Several years ago, I lost my German Shepherd, Cairo, in a way that left a permanent mark on my heart. He became very sick, very fast, and I rushed him to an emergency clinic hoping for help. Instead, he was placed in a holding room alone for 24 hours before anyone ever looked at him. By the time I saw him again, his tongue had turned black, and green bile was coming from his mouth. He passed away in my arms at only two years old.   I was young, devastated, and completely lost. I had to roll my boy up in a rug, sobbing as I carried him back to that same clinic because I didn't know what else to do. They never asked if I was okay. They never expressed sympathy. They only tried to sell me services I couldn't afford. The way they handled his life--and his death--left a hole in my home, in my heart, and even my cat and I fell into a deep depression. It also left me with a deep fear and mistrust of veterinary care.   So when it came time to bring Rogue in, I carried all of that pain and hesitation with me. But then I met all of you.   From the very moment we walked in, your warmth and compassion were obvious. You were gentle, attentive, and you treated Rogue like the precious soul she is. From the front desk staff to the doctor sitting on the floor--covered in Cheese Whiz, no less--you showed us what real veterinary care is supposed to look like. You made us feel safe. You made us feel seen. And you gave me something I wasn't sure I would ever get back: trust.   Thank you, truly, for restoring my faith in the profession and for treating my Rogue with the love and dignity every animal deserves. You turned what could have been a fearful day into one full of relief and gratitude. I will never forget the kindness you showed us. We will be coming back. With all my heart,  Jessica Coombs

Which would be absolutely fine if I hadn't specifically asked for anti-anxiety medications for my dog. When she arrived at the vet today the total cost for the visit had jumped to an estimated 304$, for included blood tests on top of the exam. I absolutely understand this is necessary, but when I called to ask why that was not part of the estimation the reply was "Not all anxiety medication requires blood testing." I don't understand how a veterinarian could hear that a dog has anxiety issues, and not have any idea that she's going to need testing for said issue, especially after multiple days of calling in to check. Tying it all off with a wonderful bow, by the time I had someone willing to help and didn't see fit to answer all my questions rudely. My partner had already been forced to pay the cancellation fee and barred from returning as well as one of the employees going out of her way to call my character into question. TLDR: I absolutely 1000% understand not all anxiety meds require bloods testing, I also understand that none of them were ruled out ahead of time so it should've been in the estimation. When I called to ask why it hadn't been included the First Lady was very rude, by the time I had someone else on the phone explaining we were banned.

There were times in the last two years when I thought I was close to having to make the decision no one wants to make, but Dr. Hoh and her team never gave up on Benny. I greatly appreciate the time Dr. Hoh has put into researching Benny's case (she has probably even done it after hours!) and her detailed follow-up calls with me. I also appreciate how Courtney and Jamie never think it's a big deal that Benny is very vocal with them in the room (haha), and how they don't think I'm too nuts with all of my emails, calls, and questions. They all love on Benny, and it means the absolute world to me. They're angels, and Benny and I are so lucky to have all of you on our side. Grateful just doesn't even seem like enough. Thank you all so much for everything you do for Benny. I cannot recommend Heart of Texas (and getting your dog a specialist) enough. I have no doubt that everyone at Heart of Texas is awesome, but if you need an Internist for your pet, do not look any further. Dr. Hoh and her team are the best. Period. Also, a shout-out to Carissa and the front desk team, who are also so kind and helpful. Benny and I think you're the best too.

The staff were pleasant, but before even examining him, they presented a treatment plan with charges for radiology, CT, and even an MRI. That raised concerns for me, especially since the injury didn't appear orthopedic. I chose to pay the exam fee and follow up with his primary vet the next morning. He was diagnosed with cellulitis and improved quickly with antibiotics. I'd use caution with after-hours clinics--reading reviews ahead of time can really make a difference.

At that time we just got our 2-month old kitten for 5 days and he didn't eat anything nor drink a drop of water, and vomit a few times a day for 3-4 days. We were so worried since he was very little and dehydrating for 3 days could possible killed him. Prior to this visit, we took our kitten to ASAP Vet: Veterinary Urgent Care and they took a real great care of him by putting a water ball into his back and helping with his eye infection. Anyway, they weren't sure what was the cause of our kitten's vomiting and not eating and drinking, so we tried to schedule him to see a regular vet. The earliest schedule we could get him to see a regular vet in the near by area was at Georgetown Veterinary Hospital. We checked the hospital got quite nice reviews and were hoping that the vets here would be able to find the cause of our kitten's symptom. Instead, my husband and I were so shocked with the way Dr. B, Keterin Bonvillain, treating our kitten. After we told her about his symptoms, she suddenly and brutally opened our kitten's mouth widely and at that time he was just a little over a palm size. She looked at him a very little bit and then simply told us she had no idea. We asked her if the kitten's symptoms could be from poisoning? Her answer was still no idea and she kept saying that I...I...I had no idea!! And then she said something like it may be from where you adopted the kitten. We answered her that we got him from a breeder. She seemed hesitate a little and then acted nicer! She opened his mouth again and checked a little more, but still kept saying she had no idea. The worst for us was how come any vets could treat an adopted animal differently than a breed animals!! It might just her bad day, we didn't know, but the way she treated the little animal was very unkind and even brutal. As well, she kept telling us she had no idea almost 10 times without any suggestions and didn't care or try to help our kitten from his dehydration at all. We took our kitten home and then decided took him back to ASAP Vet again. They put one more water ball in his back and gave us a syringe and liquid food to inject into his mouth. We could tell the way an urgent care treat our little kitten was way better and more gentle and more care than Dr B, Keterin Bonvillain, did. Luckily, following ASAP Vet recommendations, in a few days our kitten back to eat and drink and now grow up to be a big beautiful boy. Back to that time, soon after our kitten got better, we learned that he had been having an anxiety from getting a new owner. Although we knew getting a new owner can be very stressful for a kitten and the kitten might have been hiding and fear, we never imagined a little kitten would be in much anxiety to vomit and stop eating and drinking completely for almost a week. Hopefully, our experience from our kitten's anxiety may be helpful to other people who have just got a kitten. In short: - Not recommended Dr B, Keterin Bonvillain although she already moved to another vet hospital. From our experience she was unkind, inconsiderate, and careless. - The price maybe standard, but totally waste of money and time. - The hospital is Very Old, smelled Old and as same as the room.
