So I was thinking, "Wow! This is a much better price than I've had to pay at other places for dental cleanings!"). But on the day of the procedure I was asked if I also wanted to include blood work beforehand which they said was highly recommended for my dog ($110). Then afterward, there were some additional meds prescribed as well as charges for the teeth that they extracted (NINE!!). So in the end, the total charges for pre-appointment and day of cleaning/extractions were $855!! MUCH, much higher than I had planned. Just wanted others to be aware who are maybe driving a long distance like we did to "save money" that we didn't save very much money. I still recommend them if you are nearby. Dr. Woods was very personable at our consultation appointment and called me personally after the cleaning to let me know that all went well. I appreciated that. I feel like they do a high volume of these cleaning appointments and therefore have a lot of experience!

I have taken animals severely ill to her and I have had animals that just needed vaccinations. She is best diagnostician vet I have ever experienced. Once in awhile out of availability I have had to use other vets for emergency situations and her care is always just a level above others. She is the very best. Example: I had a dog suffering from ehrlichia. The emergency vet said she scratched her eye. That wasn't the case she was losing her vision to the progression of the disease. Dr. Valle figured it out. Sadly it was too late to save her vision and when Dr. Valle removed her eyes she was so helpful in keeping her expressions despite losing her eyes. I believe Dr. Valle saved her life. Recently I had to euthanize one of my beloved pets and she made it as easy as it could be. He was suffering from kidney disease. The best thing to do was to let him go. If you haven't been through this process then you won't know a good vet from a bad one. I am older so I have been through this process let's say a few times. Pfenning staff put me in a room where I could say good-bye. They took him away to do the Cath so the process would be smooth and believe me you want it to be smooth. I had a vet one time who "missed" the vein and my poor animal went screaming into the next life. It happens but you don't want it to believe me. Not with Dr. Valle, she came in and ask if I was ready, I said yes, she administered the relaxation shot I'll call it where they go limp and then the one that stops their heart. It is never easy to let go but it helps when you have a caring vet clinic around you. I just want the least stress on the animal. I always want what is best for the suffering animal and I believe Dr. Valle does as well. I bet I have taken 10animals to her over the years. I have a lot of critters. Cats and dogs. I have never had a negative experience with her or her staff and most of them I have known awhile too. Note: I have a cat that is the devil when he goes to the vet. Dr. Valle handles him with the best of ease. Yes she has to grab him and manhandle him a little but that is what it takes sometimes. I sure didn't want to mess with him while he was in this state. But Dr. Valle is like I got him. No problem.

Sent us home with an anti inflammatory and antibiotics. 14 days after the meds were gone, we called and advised the mass had not shrunk. We came in and paid for a biopsy but the vet could not get one. We were told it was scar tissue from an unknown injury and nothing to worry about. $500 total with no biopsy. We since got a second opinion, and the dog has Cancer. When we followed up with Dr, Douglas, the receptionist said the surgeon who is there once a week was indeed concerned after relooking at the picture. There were lots of mixed signals and we could have lost our dog. We would not return to this Dr.

So new dog fully grown, I say hey are you charging us more fore these meds because we come in, because other retailers are much cheaper. "Oh, well if you use our online shop we price match...." -front desk 3 freaking years of buying one at a time and NO ONE told us they ever had an online shop. As soon as we arrive they always bring us into the room and play calming music for my cat. Their timing is incredibly efficient and their vet techs are highly trained. I watched Brooke take blood and urine from my cat as though she was a veterinarian herself. I recently said goodbye to my oldest cat and they made the experience go as well as it possibly could have. I don't know how they are strong enough to do that on a regular basis but they did an incredible job. This vet is one of the very few things I'll miss about Austin when I leave.

During a difficult period when my dog was sick, I expressed my dismay to the staff about poor communication with me when I needed followup calls or emails about laboratory results, Rx medication that needed to be compounded or special ordered, and followup appointments. CRICKETS I called again and again asking to speak to a Vet. Finally, after two days, Dr Faggioni called me. I explained my concerns and the lack of quality communication which I expected. He told me that it was perhaps best for me to find another vet practice! REALLY!? DONE. GONE. BOOM Interestingly enough, that lady vet, Dr. Graf, is no longer working there, too. Not surprised. Again this was TWO DAYS of no phone contact from my Vet who "supposedly" was "caring" for my dog! Dr Faggioni called the next morning and conveyed NO CONCERN or EMPATHY and clearly did not CARE that I was upset about his practice's failure. His lack of COURTESY towards me and his UNPROFESSIONAL comment, that I should "find another veterinary practice" is the RED FLAG that EVERY person reading this should "GET" from my review! THIS IS NOT OKAY! YOU cannot make it okay simply by reading an employee's narrative from a chart! That cannot adequately convey the issues I needed to discuss.
