Overall wonderful wonderful experience. John the concessionaire was amazing and always prompt to answer our inquiries. The day of our wedding they were attentive to our needs and very easy going. They allowed us to basically add any extras we wanted to for our big day. The only bad thing for us, since we live so far away, is that the food tastings were done during other events. The idea behind this made a lot of sense- it was so we could try the food in bulk just like our big day- but driving multiple times out that way @ 1.5 hours each direction was a little burdensome for us. My husband and I had a great wedding reception at Chez Shari ! John is very knowledgeable and organized so we really felt like we were in good hands for our wedding evening. He shared a lot about choosing songs, the meals, activities, and worked closely with us on our preferences for the reception. Also he is super responsive over email so we really appreciated that. On the evening of our wedding, one notable thing I remembered was when the dance floor started having fewer and fewer people (my husband and I are millennials by the way), John started playing a song from our parents' time, which brought up a lot of people from our parents' generation and that was fun to see ! Chez Shari has a ceremony and reception option, but we were thankful that John also offered a reception-only option. Unfortunately we do not have much photos from our reception at Chez Shari, but the workers there made the ambiance feel very cozy. We recently had to bury a very important family member and john was very nice and accomidating but what was not appreciated is the larger heavier set woman being disrespectful attitude towards the guests, as if she didnt need or want to be there. The on site manger Felicia disregarded my concerns about said employees attitude, what wasnt appreciated was being called ghetto underneath her breath as she walked away. The other event staffed saw the disgust on my face and did their best to reconcile me. Its unfortunate that such a beautiful venue has such and underwhelming and unprofessional staff. We just had my father's celebration of life in their Godfather room and it was perfect for the small group of family we had. The food was delicious, highly recommend the roast rosemary chicken and tri tip combination. Room was perfectly set up. They took very good care of us, our server/host was excellent. A few years before we also had my mother's celebration of life here and had more guests than expected and John and our server/host were able to accomodate everyone. Recently attended a holiday event with friends and colleagues. Long wait (about an hr) for drinks w/ two bartenders manning the bar. Bartenders looked upset the entire time. The server at the buffet appeared annoyed when serving our food. Main course (chicken and tri-tip) was dried. Dance floor was small so they asked if they could move our tables and chairs to make room, which left us with no place to sit. Some of the staff was friendly, but overall, the place lacked hospitality. Good thing our crowd knew how to make the most of the event and had a good time nonetheless. Would not recommend. read more

We had a celebration of life for my father at Chez Shari which was right across the street from where we had his service at PL Fry and Son Funeral Home, so it was convenient to go immediately following the service.  We made the arrangements with John, the banquet manager.  John had us send a Spotify playlist link to play all of the songs during the event as well as the slideshow we had at the funeral. There were lots of food options from sandwiches to pasta. We chose the chicken parmigiana with two kinds of pasta sauce and salad.  The drink options were good as well.  Since it was still during COVID there was a station with antibacterial gel placed before anyone could access the buffet. The tables were set up nicely with tablecloths. The staff was very accommodating. There was plenty of food left so they allowed us and our guests to box it all up before we left. This was a great experience and we would not hesitate to use them in the future should the need arise. read more

Recently attended a wedding here. Although they ask everyone to sanitize their hands before going into the buffet line I would think due to Covid they would have servers dishing out the food instead of everyone touching all the serving utensils. The food was reheated frozen entrées at best. The only server they had was guarding the kids chicken strips and fries like they were gold. My husband & I just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on 4/15/16 here at Chez Shari & i have to say our wedding was so beautiful & intimate. Everything was just how we wanted it small with family & close friends only & so blessed to have our kids by our side as our wedding party, my daughters as brides maids & our sons as best men. We wouldn't of had it any other way. I was a little upset that we could not take our wedding photos outside on the grass area because it was so windy but overall our photos came out great! The price to rent the hall & the food packages are very reasonable, the food was so yummy & tasty im glad all our guest were satisfied. I have been to Chez Shari on three separate occasions - as a potential customer (wedding planning), working an event and as a guest at an event. Each experience I had with Chez Shari has been pleasant one. As a potential customer the owners welcoming, polite and responsive. As a busy bride to be at that time, their professionalism was much appreciated. There's nothing worse than having to wait days for a response when you are trying to plan a wedding and luckily that was never an issue with Chez Shari. I discussed my needs and concerns with Frank Guinta and he was great at finding solutions for everything. I also worked with John Guinta though e-mail who was just as helpful. The entire planning process was painless. Unfortunately, I ended up canceling my reservations as I found a location I felt was a better for my event (beach location) but I would definitely come back to Chez Shari if I were to plan another large party. As someone who was working at a company event, the assistance I received from the Chez Shari staff was amazing (I'm looking at you Felicia!) They were super accommodating and helped me resolve any hiccups that came up during the event. They definitely work hard to make the event seamless. As a guest I had a great time! The event went without a hitch (nothing that I noticed anyway) and the flow of everything was great. The food was also delicious. It was obviously a concern of mine when I was planning my own event but it was nice to get that confirmation when I was chowing down as a guest. Wedding event August 2014 First off let me say I was so thankful to have had my event there. John ( the manager) he was a pleasure to work with. John was so helpful and assisted me in all questions and concerns that I had while planning my whole event. He was there step by step to make everything as easy and perfect as it could be. I had my ceremony there and my reception, it was so convenient for all my guests. We had hors d'oeuvre hour after the ceremony which my guest enjoyed. After that we had our dinner buffet which I had 150 guest which got served under 15 minutes. The dinner that we had was rosemary chicken breast,tri-tip,salad,mash potatoes,and Dinner rolls. The dinner was absolutely delicious and juicy. All my guests kept on complimenting on how great dinner was. The staff and servers were so wonderful. At my table they waited on me getting everything and anything that I needed. The wait staff was so amazing they were on top of everything for all my guests. Hands down to great service. They had all the bartenders pouring my guests wine and cider. They kept on going to table to table. Because of John Guinta, our daughter and new son-in-law's wedding in April 2014 went off without a hitch (no pun intended!). From the first time we met with John to look at Chez Shari several months before the event, during our planning visits, his timely responses to our many email inquiries, the way he ran the rehearsal, and of course, all he did on the wedding day, John made everything easy and stress-free. John's excellent organizational skills, calm demeanor, and sense of humor helped to keep us on track and relaxed. At the very start we could tell we'd be in good hands. His experience and know-how were priceless. We've heard of others who had difficult people to work with when planning weddings, but Chez Shari, on the other hand, was a joy to work with. We got married here 6 months ago but spent 18 months planning the wedding beforehand. The owner, John, is absolutely amazing and professional from start to finish. He was patient with my dozens of questions, offered recommendations and advice based on his years of experience and the wedding turned out great. I couldn't be more pleased with the food, and our guests were extremely vocal about how tasty it was. John was also super flexible and accommodating and you can tell that he is always trying to come up with ways to make his service better. Additionally, the venue comes at a price that can't be beat! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because when we did our ceremony run through, we didn't get to hear where the music was cut and so the day of the ceremony, I didn't walk down the aisle to the clip of the song that I was expecting. I believe this was such a tiny oversight that no one probably noticed but me. I am certain that even though he did not think of coordinating that with me, had I asked, it most likely would have been taken care of. We had compliments all night long on the food and service from our guests. They even allowed us the use of the PA system which was needed. The workers that day were very helpful and had a great attitude. From the very beginning of planning we were so impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and assistance we received from the owner, John. I have hosted our wedding, 10 year anniversary, and 65th birthday party here. Our daughter is getting married here in May 2017. I have had only positive experiences here. They are very accommodating for minor changes. The food is excellent and we have had sit down as well as buffet. Staying within a budget is important and they will work with you to achieve that. Buffets and sit down dinners are all yummy. Tri-tip is the best I have ever had. John and staff have gone out of their way to be sure each and every occasion runs smoothly and the customer is happy. As a wedding venue, the price can't be beat. ( we visited many venues). Extra personal attention to detail is what the staff specializes in. There is a dance floor, a bar, and plenty of seating. The golf course is a beautiful place for wedding pictures. We are even using the smaller, Godfather room for the rehearsal dinner.
