First bar experience for me in K-town and wow this was a great spot! Loved the waiting area in the back where you can grab drinks while waiting on a table for food. The service was solid, our server had us laughing the whole night, and the food came out relatively fast. The corn cheese was soooo good... perfect pairing with our drinks for sure. It was very loud, and the wait was pretty long (Saturday night), so if that's not your vibe then Chi Chi might not be for you. There were games you could play on the little ordering tablets with other tables so that was cool and interactive if you were feeling social!

fair warning: this is coming after a night of winning!! Chi Chi is exactly what it is described. A fun time for young adults. it felt like an arcade of dinking games! this is great place for large groups of friends. we had a group of eight people and it divided the bill at the end of the night beautifully. the games are like simple mobile games, that anyone can thrive and have a good time. we got the appetizer platter. not good, "got that frozen in a bag and just recently air fried" taste and quality. note: as one of the only black folks in the establishment, you we certainly get looks and stares. to be fair i looked great last night. give them a reason to keep lingering

Chi chi is definitely for large groups! My friends and I decided to come on a Saturday night as a group of 8, we got the table right away but upstairs so we did feel isolated from everyone having fun downstairs. There isn't a lot of a/c ventilation upstairs so we had to ask a server if it was on. We did order some finger foods but mainly just soju! It's pretty fun playing against tables on the tablet because you can compete for a free bottle!

I've come to chichi many times because it's really fun. You get to play games with other tables where you can bet a bottle of soju or beer and whoever wins, the other table has to pay for. There's a lot of claw machines that are nearly impossible to win because the claw doesn't grip the prize, but one time I did win a pikachu which was great. Plus they have good food. My friend ordered chicken karaage and mussel soup. The soup was delicious and had a slight kick of heat to it which was refreshing. The chicken is pretty on par with what you can find elsewhere. I got the tofu dish with pork, which was really good. It's a staple at a lot of Korean bars where they marinate the pork and mix it in with kimchi, then you put it on top of tofu. Really good dish. The kalbi jjim was really good too. It's a braised beef that comes off the ribs. I like that they also included some carrots and potatoes in it too. It was nice to have a veggie in that dish, since you don't really find veggies that often out in the wild in meat dishes. I like the service here because it's pretty fast and attentive. The ambiance is really cool and it's always really lively in here. It's a place worth checking out!

A Korean pocha/pub with a super unique concept of tablets at each table to chat and play games against other tables. Win a game against another table, and win a free drink! If you lose, you pay for their drink/bottle! Gets busy around 10pm. Good food, vibes, and drinks! You are required to order at least $30 before having access to games and chat. Drinks are super pricey so beware when you lose the game. One bottle of soju is almost $20! - mala teokbeokki: 8.9/10. Delicious!!! Came out hot and fresh with plenty of toppings. I love the chewy, thick, clear glass noodles that come with this. - ramen: 6.0/10. Cheap and what you would expect. Shin ramen or something similar. Thankfully, not too overpriced for what it is. -bossam: 6.5/10. Meh. Wouldn't recommend getting this hear. Bland and not enough ban chan/side dishes to pair with it. -watermelon: 9.0/10. Insanely expensive but delicious watermelon. They sprinkle injeolmi/soybean powder on top which gives it so much flavor. Addicting.

We got the tteokbokki, tofu kimchi, and soju cocktail. The food was all cooked just right and flavorful. I liked how the tteokbokki had fried mandu, meat, eggs, ramen, and green onion as well. The interior is fun with random all table games and the chance to get free items. Overall, it's a fun place for drinking games and food.

I came here around 9:30 on a Saturday night with friends and it was so lively and busy inside. The hostess had us wait on the back patio for about 10 minutes until we were seated inside. There's a $30 order minimum to be able to play the games on the table screen. To meet the minimum and play games, we ordered the soju watermelon cocktail and yuzu soju cocktail. The soju watermelon cocktail was big and the flavor was fine. I'm just not a big fan of watermelon. I preferred the yuzu cocktail which was sweet and refreshing. I think the flavored soju cocktails in the glass are the way to go! On the table screen, there's a live chat and multiple game options. Each table can play games with each other. The winning table gets the wagered drink for $1 and the losing table has the buy the winning table's drink. I love this concept and it was very fun but the games were confusing at times. We lost 3 rounds in a row, but I'd come again for a late night drinking session and for fun and games!

OH LORDD CHICHIs man o man this is the best time ever. We came on a Fri night and that shit was POPPIN!! I lwk be recommending all my friends to come here. Just like you see on tiktok and shi, you can play games with other tables to get free drinks!! Aint that awesome? In the end we ended up with like 4 free bottles of soju that we couldnt even finish! The chat on screen is for the entire restaurant and you can mingle with people. Its so funny. That night, the staff came around with a board spinning thing where you can only win (candy or free soju) and i shit u not we got like 2-3 free bottles. Im comin back here for the vibes. FOOD: Price: It can be expensive if you SUCK at games OK but no one really comes here for the food right? I lowkey dont even remember how it tasted but I would still say its a 4/5. The cheeese pull goes crazy though. GREAT restaurant for pregaming

My friend Conrad and I went to a nearby Korean bar that had an insane wait. I mean, we just assumed that the wait was insane. We could not find a parking space inside the lot, and people were waiting outside, lots of people. The wait was not for us, not this time. Right on the opposite corner of this place was Chi Chi. We just walked upon it and it was a party that awaited us, with some really good food. It was what we were looking for this evening, and we found it when another place would have us wait too long. Although, this place took us in, and gave us confetti vibes and delicious fare, we were seated where we should have been: the very last table in the back. More on this later but for now, let me start from the moment we entered the room. So Conrad and I entered, and the head bopping music and crowd noise was immediate, it could not be escaped. What I liked is that the party was not just loud because, bare with me, there is a notion that supports the flawed belief that noisy claps and overtop hoots make a crowd fun, instead of just loud. But, the party was contained yet still in a cool uproar, it had the balance of audacious fun and respectful order which makes joy not be intimidating. This central area had a large television. In a video I catch the television showing a DJ spinning records. The television pulsated song and moment into the crowd. I could not wait to be part of the revelers. But I had to, I was informed that there was a 15 minute wait. Conrad and I went to the second section of Chi Chi which had video games, kind of like Chuck E Cheez. But do not imagine Chuck E Cheez games or Dave and Buster games, because Conrad and I played these games. I was taking it all in, and kind of like over stimulated by the sounds and sights and people that were now all movement all around me. Then, I found a room that allowed Conrad and I to escape to our own mini moment of exhale: the place's Photo Booth. The price for a picture was 12.00 dollars, which is steep, especially since both Conrad and I have smartphones. But, the moment required funds to materialize. So we paid the 12 dollars, and we went through screens to select our color combinations and motif. For one of the squares, I went noir. Eventually, we got a printed out square of four square pictures. Another patron gave us the second. I thought we got a print, it turns out you get two. I put them inside my wallet and then I lost them. I did take a picture of them for memory's sake, and that frankly is worth more than 12.00 dollars, maybe not to all, but for me on this night, it was. That is why it stung to loose the prints. Eventually, Conrad and I sat outside. I got a lemon soju, that was 19.00 dollars. I could not drink it, in gulps, I am not sure if you are suppose to take it as shots, or sip it. When I was in the table, I mixed it with Sprite and it was too hard of an alcohol for me to join. As it reads, I am not too familiar with Korean liquor and how it should be imbibed. Then finally, a co-worker noticed that we were sitting waiting, and then they took us inside--- to the last table before one can go out into the patio. I asked if we could sit somewhere else, they practically laughed in my face. I understood that if I wanted a better sit, then I needed to come early. The food was great--- flavorful, inventive, engaging, and it stands out even to an eater like me, who has enjoyed Korean fare throughout the years in many different form. What I appreciated the most was the Korean Rice Cakes with mini sausages, skewers. A Korean fried rice cake is both chewy and fried just slightly. It tastes like a cracker that is still baking---- that is the best way that I can describe it. The sweet sauciness of the sausages was a break from the savory spikes of the sausage and the rice cakes. We got water, in like a baby bottle looking container without the part where baby's suck on it. It was water but, super cute container. I got cheese on top of corn niblets. Those were good too and proof of the diversity in the menu. We also got fried chicken chips, and they were crispy but also had some meat on them. So do not imagine a chip made from chicken skin, more like a chip with some meat inside--- so it looks like a chip, and has chip consistency, but the ruffles have something in between them, like the goose feathers in certain pillows. Conrad reported that his cheese ramen was also delicious. The food, how it came, what we ate, everything was just a super experience, I want some more after writing this review and I am not just saying that to sound cliche. I want to sit in the party section, be fed while I vibe to Kpop, and know mirth from that place. Also, Conrad and I had a blast on their provided screens. In these, one can play with other guests, text other guests, and in general order and tip, and do more. It was a lot to take in, and I think, I need at least 4 visits to know what is what, cause they also have an upstairs.

Ok I've seen this place all over social media and me and my friends decided to check it out! We went on a Friday night for a group of 8 so we made an online reservation. You can't make a reservation for parties less than 6 or more than 11 lol. We showed up around 9 and it was pretty empty, I think the crowd rolls in near midnight. Not much parking so I recommend ubering. The girls bathroom was clean when I went. Very loud music. It's a fun place and good for medium sized friend groups. Since we had 8 people they just combined 2 tables and gave us 2 iPads to play games lol. You can play games by accepting invites to wagers for drinks! It just adds up if you keep losing though LOL. We played about 10 games. Honestly the food was mid though... we got their kimchi fried rice, fried chicken, and multiple fries and onion rings to share. Typical Korean bar food, nothing to rave about. At least when we went, it was $45 per person which isn't bad!

I recently checked out Chi Chi during a venture into K Town with a friend. I will say that off the bat this place is very interesting. They seem to have a variety of specials including ladies night if the party is all women (50% off). The tables are also fairly high tech with the ability to order and play games when utilizing the ubiquitous tablets at each one. I also think tables can compete each other and buy drinks for each other? Seems like it'd be fun on a busy night. On to the food! We ended up going with the seafood pancake, steamed egg, and chicken karaage. The chicken was crispy and flavorful with the accompanying mayo providing a nice semi sweet tang. The seafood pancake had a solid amount of seafood although I wish it was a bit crispier. The steamed egg was what you'd expect. Fluffy texture and moist, just what we wanted. Overall I enjoyed the food. We went on a Thursday evening, but I get the sense that this spot is packed and bumping on weekends which might be the ideal time if you're looking for late night/party vibes. Otherwise this a solid addition to the amount of crispy, salty, fatty Korean food available in the area.

Looking for a fun night out with friends? This spot is just the place! My friends and I came here around 5-5:30pm (group of 7) and we were able to get seated right away. The place picked up around 7pm so I recommend coming here early. We ordered some food to share like toppogi, and chicken which was delicious. This place is known for their games that's set up on each table. You get to play against other tables and the winner gets drinks and the loser pays for the drinks. It's so much fun interacting with each other especially in a group setting. I highly recommend coming here!

This place is sick. Great place to have drinks and bites. One of the biggest selling factor, is that you can wager bottles of alcohol against other tables. So if you're into gambling or super competitive, you will have a great time. Food was also pretty good, especially after knocking back a couple of drinks. Not the cheapest, but good to split. They also give you plastic coins where you can play this time stopping game. (not easy) We had a party of 7 and got here super early, like right when they opened. Tables quickly got filled around 730ish and this was on a Saturday night. Parking can be found on the street.

To end the night before we headed off to dinner, we stopped by The Semi- Tropic bar for drinks. The parking situation was difficult to say the least-- there is no street parking or parking lot. And the neighborhood behind the bar is filled with park cars. We were lucky and parked at a parking lot that was for the surrounding business (so sorry to the pizza/ weed shop!). We arrived at around 6:30 PM so it wasn't too busy. We were greeted by one of the servers and she gave us options to either sit at a lounge table area or hightop tables. We opted for the hightop tables because we knew we weren't staying there for long. The server was friendly and patient as we looked over the menu for drinks. I've been sober for about a year so I only had water, my boyfriend ordered a Naoshima Dream, his cousin ordered a Mango Cart, and his cousin's girlfriend ordered a Lemon Drop Martini. The bar was super cute and hipster! I honestly would have loved going to this bar back when I used to drink. It's dimly lit, had a vintage 20's speakeasy feel to it and the music was a vibe. I'd recommend coming here for a little date with your partner or even coming with a group of friends. My boyfriend had been here once before and he said the food was really good and affordable. He had a panini and said for bar food it was a 10/10. We waited maybe like 10 minutes for our drinks to come, we were having such a fun time chatting and enjoying the environment that it didn't feel long at all. My boyfriend, his cousin, and his cousin's girlfriend really enjoyed their drinks. They said the drinks tasted "light" insinuating that there was barely any alcohol in it. Don't let the taste fool you, after finishing half of their drink there were full of smiles, giggles, and had a great buzz going. The prices here were all pretty fair for the cost and quality of the drinks. Would defintely recommend coming here for drinks and dinner for a date night or a night out with friends!

Interesting was my first thought, then you start getting the nuances of the different interested and it's a respectable cocktail. Overall, good drinks, friendly people, chill atmosphere, and a nice addition to the bar scene in Echo Park
