I wanted to see a variety of designs, shapes, and settings--and they had so many beautiful options to try on. The experience was warm, helpful, and not overwhelming at all. However, I ended up going with another jeweler a few stores down because my boyfriend had a connection there. The moment I received my ring, I immediately regretted not choosing Jangmi. The ring I got was nothing close to what I had asked for. The prongs were bent, and I had specifically requested a higher setting so that a wedding band could sit flush--but none of my bands (even very thin ones) sat properly. I brought it back and asked for multiple fixes. To his credit, he did make adjustments for free, but when I received the ring the second time, it still didn't match my vision at all. What I wanted was simple and classic: a 6-prong setting with tall, straight prongs (similar to the Tiffany style) and small claw tips. Instead, the ring was still not high enough, and the prongs were extremely thick--both from the top and side view--which completely took away from the beauty of the diamond. At that point, I was honestly so frustrated and ready to give up. But I remembered how positive my initial experience at Jangmi was, so I decided to reach out and ask if they could reset my ring. Even though the previous jeweler was willing to keep making changes for free, I didn't feel comfortable going back. I would much rather pay for something done right. And I am SO glad I did. Jangmi had the exact design I had been envisioning all along. Mrs. Kim was incredibly patient, attentive, and knowledgeable. She had a wax model made for me to try on before finalizing the ring, which made such a huge difference. Seeing and wearing the design in person gave me so much confidence--honestly, I preferred this so much more than just looking at CAD images, which can be hard to interpret if you're not in the industry. Within just two weeks, my ring was exactly what I had dreamed of from the start. The craftsmanship, the proportions, the setting--everything was perfect. My biggest regret is not coming to Jangmi Jewelry from the beginning. But one thing I can promise is that I will absolutely be coming back here for my wedding bands. If you're even thinking about going here--just do it. You won't regret it!

If I hadn't checked the certificate numbers and measurements, I wouldn't have noticed. They tried to substitute the product without my authorization. This is a bad business practice. Besides the level of communication that must be had via text, you want to make sure that you're being understood correctly. What I mean by that is that, whatever discussions or observations about the development of your piece or enhancements that might alter the final price, you want to re-iterate when you go to his shop and talk in person because there might be some "lost in translation" moments. We are not talking about the English language but about WHAT you want and HOW you want it done to be met by x amount of labor, and materials and double checking that all is still (IF it can) within the original quote. THE GOOD Outgoing, friendly, and with a very bright disposition it was mutual admiration at Balthazar's where we first met. I purchased a gem a while back that I even forgot I had it because I couldn't find a jewelry designer on my quest that convinced me; So when he shared he designed jewelry I knew then and there he was the artist that was going to create a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece for me! Great communication, I stopped by his shop the week later and we agreed that because of the carat weight of my Citrine, a ring would be the most suitable, and also get to wear it often. I love the Infinity sign so I asked him incorporate that idea but, for continuity style purposes, I asked him to replicate my Gucci garden snake bangle's head and have two intertwining as you see in the images. He transformed my quite rudimentary sketch into the rendering you see and WOW, what a beautiful drawing! it certainly gave me a pretty good idea of how it should look like with the gem. Understanding my requirements for the ring, plus the scale of the gem in the proportion of the amount of gold that would be required, I didn't negotiate his quote and I consider it fair. Sure, within the time we were working together in this piece he kindly suggested some upgrades that would invariable add more to the total but I didn't feel pressured into making them and I didn't. Because, although it would certainly make the piece more of a showstopper (than already is), they weren't necessary yet he is such a gentleman that you never feel uncomfortable or any kind of negative way. THE BEST Are you seeing this art museum piece?! I've been crystals, quartz, stones, and jewelry LOVER since I can remember and I can't stop SMILING by looking at this ring! You envision something in your mind and after sketches, after additional changes when in mold form, and after the many ways Edwin explains how is going to look like, you never can picture it 100% Speechless, once I open the velvety blue box, BEYOND! It came with an appraisal that I was not expecting and the finishing touches on the presentation really make it special. For obvious reasons, I did get to see the ring at the shop (in those harsh fluorescent lights) but unveiling it on a holiday like Christmas and in a nice French restaurant, just takes the experience to the 10th degree!!!
