Unfortunately, my experience this past Tuesday was extremely disappointing. My appointment was scheduled for 3:00 pm. I arrived on time, but there was no one at the front desk, and a few stylists assumed I was a walk-in. The stylist who was supposed to do my pixie cut was still with another client, blow-drying her sopping wet bob-length hair, and didn't acknowledge me for quite a while. When he finally did, he said he would be finished in 15 minutes. I told him if it would take longer, I would rather not wait, especially since I had driven 35 minutes from Orange County (one way). I left briefly and came back at 3:15 pm, but he was still with the same client. A professional would have communicated a delay and respected the client's time. By 3:21 pm, when I decided to leave, he was still styling her hair with no end in sight. Meanwhile, another employee attempted to divert me by offering a shampoo. She handed me a robe that was far too small and insisted I wear it, even though I explained I didn't mind hair falling on my clothes since I was going to the gym afterward. I also mentioned my long drive, and she responded with an insincere comment about how "beautiful" the 91 freeway is--something that felt dismissive and patronizing. As she led me to the shampoo area, she rolled her eyes and made faces to a coworker. At that point, I stood up, told her not to make faces, and informed the stylist I was canceling my appointment. The entire atmosphere felt unprofessional and immature--more like a schoolyard than a salon. There was no customer service, no apology, and no manager present to address the situation. I genuinely feel bad for the salon owner, who may not even be aware of how poorly NEW clients are being treated.

My esthetician was very nice and pleasant, and I enjoyed seeing the before/after images of my scalp but the pressure she used on my scalp during the treatment was a bit too rough for me. I mentioned I would prefer lighter pressure, and she did adjust for a short time, but eventually went back to using very firm pressure. Because of that, I found myself tensing up rather than being able to relax and enjoy the treatment. The water used on my scalp was also shockingly cold. I mentioned this as well, hoping it could be made warmer, but unfortunately it remained pretty cold throughout the service. Between the strong pressure and cold water, I found myself cringing quite a bit during what I had hoped would be a soothing experience. One small detail: I noticed from other reviews that several guests were served rose tea, which sounded like a lovely touch. I was only offered water, which I appreciated on a warm day, but I would have loved the option of the rose tea as well. There did seem to be a bit of a language barrier, which may have contributed to some of the miscommunication. Overall, the place was beautiful and clean, but the treatment itself just wasn't relaxing for me.
