Waiting room/Chic Shop smelled so nice and filled with different items to purchase from tea, sage, facial care, crystals and more. There was also an oxygen bar for two people. Massage room was a shared room with curtains in between. Bed? I'm not sure what to call it LOL and pillow were comfortable and warm. I was asked if I wanted it to be heated and I declined as I'm naturally warm blooded but great for someone who's always cold. Some light music to truly relax. Found this place through living social. Bought the sweet heart package for $129 for me any my girlfriend. Included one hour massage, quick beauty facial, and some sauna time. Place is located in pretty busy area of North Bergen. There was a lot of snow on the ground and street parking was a tad bit hard to find. We went in and were courteously greeted by staff, given water, and forms to fill. The waiting area is only ok. I felt like I was in a doctor's office not a spa. We had to wait a bit as the rooms were not ready yet. When we did walk in, the room was very nice, a bit cold, but a nice ambiance. The package included chocolate covered strawberries and some apple cider... nice touch. We proceeded to get changed into our robes. They have a nice private room for you to change in. The massage was only ok. It lasted probably about an hour but, my girlfriend and I agreed that both of our masseuses were too light on touch even though we had asked them to go harder a few times. Quick beauty facial was quite nice, left my skin smooth and soft. We then proceeded to the sauna. The sauna is basically a small box big enough for two people. It was nice and warm, but we felt a little claustrophobic. Overall, for the price it's a pretty good deal, the whole experience lasted almost two hours. I went in for a facial (deep pore cleansing) which was almost half of what would have been in Manhattan and one of the best ones I've ever had. They don't skimp on the products they use on you (all organic, by the way) or the time it takes for the masks to do their thing. Layer after layer of goodness with nice soothing massages in between. Plus, the extractions were thorough and gentle. And they don't push any products on you! This place was pretty good for my first experience. Got a 1 hour facial which lasted like an hour and 20 minutes for $60! They did extractions, cleansing, and moisturizing. I walked out with a water and a relaxed state of mind. This review is more like a 3.5 but I cant reward a half star so im being generous here. The extractions were overly done and kind of left little lines where the blackheads on my nose used to be. That wasnt cool. But I guess its only cause I scared her into making me look perfect for a wedding that was taking place the next day. So she over did it, it wouldve been better to be on the safe side with someones skin! lol....... Honestly tho since my facial I've been doing home remedies that have turned out amazing! I started making an egg white and 2 spoon yogurt mask to use once a week, every other day I dab some lemon juice on a cottonball to use as toner, and use a clean n clear pore cleansing wash every morning. My skin has improved dramatically!!! Natural products always work better. think about it, your skin is ingesting whatever you put on your face, do you want to put something natural and full of Vitamin C or some expensive chemical product????
