After my encounter today, I remembered why I stopped going here. Today was the last time I will ever set foot in that place again and I wouldn't recommend anyone I know to use this "spa". Upon entering, I was approached by the lady who runs the business and I was the only one in line. She threw the pen down and motioned for me to sign in. This wasn't really unexpected behavior as I know how she carries herself from having gone there for years in the past. She asked me what I wanted (gel, acrylic etc) and I asked if they do dip/powder. She never answers or shakes her head or anything, which again isn't unexpected from knowing her. She throws down the samples for me to "pick a color". I look at about five colors before I hear her mumble to "hurry up". Knowing that I called before coming, was told to come in "now, we have time now, you don't need an appt" and looking around the room there is no one else waiting and only two ppl getting their nails done/5 sitting/not busy, I couldn't understand why I need to hurry or what justified her uncalled for behavior. I knew going in how she is (snaps your head around when doing your brows, etc) but I will never take my business or spend $150 in this place again when you treat your customers like they are a nuisance. Take your business to someone who appreciates it and who wants you to have a spa like experience rather than to make you feel like you were a bother upon setting foot in the door. I left before allowing them to ruin my nails/brows, charge me for getting cash to tip them, or put some sloppy design on my nails... all of these things have also happened in the past. Most people give others the benefit of the doubt that they're busy or having a bad day, but this repetitive behavior is unforgivable. read more

I went here all the time & absolutely loved it (the atmosphere & the service, Helen to be specific)! After one bad experience I WILL NOT be back. I showed the nail tech a picture of how I wanted my nails & needless to say it looks nothing like the picture. I went back the next day to have it re-done and was told that I would have to pay AGAIN!!!! Instead of them simply fixing my nails they've lost a loyal customer!!! Fix the problem for free & lose $23 or lose a religious customer & hundreds of dollars in the future. Guess they chose to lose a customer. I WILL NOT be back!!!!!!! read more

I went to this nail salon yesterday and had called ahead for a 6 o'clock appointment but we got there at the right time and it wasn't even busy so we picked our colors and checked in so we went to sit down and wait and we were waiting for 30 minutes before any of the workers got around to come help us and then when they finally got our nails going my nail tech was horribly rude and snotty and if u even moved my elbow when she was doing my nails she would literally slap my hand. Also she messed up on my nails maybe 4 times and acted like she was in a huge hurry and I was only getting gel. So she finally got done and started doing my hand massage with lotion and I was like can I please take my watch off I don't want lotion on it then she ignores me and continues w the massage then I go to look at my nails and they are done absolutely horrible then the next day comes around and one of them already came off so I recommend that you do not go to this nail salon in blue springs mo. read more

I so badly wanted this to be a good experience but it felt rushed and lackadaisical. Especially the woman doing my nails, almost acted annoyed at me that she was doing them. My pedicure was okay but still quick. The woman doing my finger nails told me I had a hang-nail (I had not noticed it or felt it hurt) and as I was pulling away from her digging she gripped my hand even tighter and wouldn't let me pull back! Today I have two nails that are killing me, a so-so paint job, and am out $65. I have been here twice now when visiting my family and will never come back and hope my family doesn't either. oUCH! read more

First off I would like to say that I have been here several times. I have never been overly impressed and they are more overpriced than other salons. I just paid $40 2 days ago to get gel-filled nails and today I noticed one of them was lifting up. I came in to get it repaired and all they did was super glue it. When I was in the last time they forgot to use my $5 off EARNED coupon so I decided to use it today and change the polish on my toes. When I gave them the earned coupon they said I could not use it because the service was $10. I can afford $5 but I will absolutely not tolerate such poor customer service when there are several other salons that I can go to in Blue Springs. I will never come back. read more

Me and my mom just moved to the area from Utah and we can both agree that this is definitely our new go to place to get our nails done the nail techs are funny and kind our nail tech Ali she was very kind and gentle we went in to get a full set and I got my old ones removed due to my real nails almost going over the acrylics so I cut them myself (bad idea) and Ali started to get them off herself without soaking and when she realized she was hurting me she immediately stopped and went to soak them now I'm very shy and don't really know how to express how I feel especially to strangers and the nail salon I used to go to the nail techs would usually not do anything to substitute this but she did even though it was a longer process but she was so nice and even shared stories with me and my mom to have good laughs with her and the other nail techs I love this place and can't wait to come back again read more

I have been searching for a clean salon that doesn't RUSH through a pedicure. My mom recommended this place - I guess I'm somewhat picky but I was more than satisfied. The foot and leg massage lasted what seemed like forever, and I walked out with my pink/white acrylic nails looking the best they have looked ever! I'm usually leaving a nail salon feeling so disappointed and I could not be happier with the service I received from Kim and Gina on my visit to Chic Nails. Brought my wife to get her nails done and she knew what she wanted, she even brought a picture. Showed the picture to person at the front desk and she said it would be $30. My wife proceeded to the nail tech and when he was finished she started to pay him $35, $30 for the service and $5 for a tip. The original lady walked up and said it would be $50. She said that the "Basic" was $30 and because of the "extra" work done was an additional $20. That was not said at the beginning and the lady kept saying that we did not show her the picture. No use arguing with these people since they don't understand or speak "English". Needless to say we paid the $50 with no tip. It was not worth the price and would not recommend going there, there are other places that offer better service and at least post their prices up front so that it avoids confrontations. read more

Worst pedicure ever. Didn't tell me that the massage was a deep tissue one so it physically hurt me. Also they filed some toes and got rid of some hang nails and hat was it! No actually foot care or precision in painting or my cuticles. Also I felt super rushed and the person doing my feet would watch tv when massaging me and didn't seem to care at all. Also the nail polishes are separating and they need new ones. If you want good service and nails, go to US Nails in the strip mall across from price chopper, I have never been disappointed with them. read more

I went to Chic Nails today after walking out of another nail place close by because of it being dirty. I was on the hunt for a new nail salon since moving to this area recently. What a great place! This IS my new nail salon! There was no wait for a technician which was great on a holiday weekend. The place is super clean and everyone was quite friendly. What a great surprise! I had a coupon and decided to give it a try. The salon is in a great location. It's very tastefully decorated inside. Not your normal "tacky" nail salon look. Loved the Gellish mani and spa pedi I got here. My niece and I walked in with maybe a 5 minute wait on a Saturday. Super comfortable and clean environment. It was a little pricey, but definitely got a great result for it. Will come back! read more

Do not go here! I have been going here for over a year and the last 3 times I have gone, the nail tech repeatedly cut/nicked my nails when cutting around the nail. The last time I was so badly cut I had to use Neosporin and they hurt for over a week. In addition, I ended up with a fungus on my toenails as well as my fingernails. read more

Just tried this place after several other (cheaper ) places recommended by friends after moving here in August. I was most impressed by their service and attention to detail. Steven and Helen were amazing and nice. They put extra effort into what they do. I think this is the place. May I add they are also super clean. Worth the extra money. Won't lie, they do great work. My nails look great. But the customer service is so awful. I was there to get my eyebrows waxed and she grabbed my purse after I was drying my nails, ripped it off the ground, walked back, waxed my brows, said "ok bye" and that was it. Worst salon experience I have ever had. Will never go back. Rude service, they were supposed to match my gel color for my fingers to my toes. Totally off, when I told her to stop as I didn't like the color (didn't match at all) she got upset and everyone in the salon stopped to watch her have a tizzy. Went in with my mom after a hard days work in the yard and needed some much needed foot pampering. We walked in at about 7:15 and asked for signature spa pedicures. We called earlier and asked if they would honor an expired coupon (which they said yes to) and then asked if they could accommodate our walk-in. We were seated right away, the pedicure chairs were empty except for one. The ladies that did our pedicures were good, and the service decent. They asked us if we wanted manicures and we said yes, if they had the time. We were not anticipating getting our nails done, but since they offered and since we were exhausted we agreed. After that, the service went down hill. My service was okay, I received French tips and a fabulous hand massage. However, my mom was taken care by the lady named Gina. She was rude, rushed the entire process, hurt my mom's cuticles, did not use new files, nipped around the entire finger, especially the cuticles, she was rough and constantly told my mom "relax your hands, look at the TV, don't move." Sorry if pain isn't relaxing! Initially it seemed as though she did a good job however, the next day, we noticed bubbles all over her nails. She was very unclear on the service my mom was receiving and the price. She did what she wanted at the price she set forth in her own mind. One minute my mom was told she was receiving gel powder, yet obviously received acrylics. As soon as my mom put her hands in the nail dryer, Gina came over and told me I needed to drive my mom home because my moms nails were still wet and worried about chipping. We were practically thrown out. Do not offer a service you do not want to give. Will not return under any circumstances. Avoid Gina at all costs if you dare go. read more

Worst manicure I have ever had. Manicurist was rude and rushed. Seemed aggravated when I didn't want gel polish. Kept shoving my finger down. I have gone here for a while now for manis/pedis simply out of convenience for where I live and the Adams Dairy Landing is booming with nice businesses - well, what I THOUGHT was nice businesses. I normally get my eyebrows done on lunch breaks at the independence center, but this time I needed to go here because it was convenient to. I made an appointment the day of the eyebrow wax HOURS before and I got there on time and when I walked in a shorter, long haired lady (might have been the owner) looked me up and down and asked "what can I do for you?" So I told her I had an appointment at 6 to get my eyebrows waxes --- I realized this is a BUSY time, hence, why I made the appointment. The salon was full and all other staff were still working away and smiling unlike this lady who rushed me back to the wax room. She rushed through the whole process of my eyebrow wax and I'm sorry, these are MY eyebrows, not yours, I'd like to keep them looking nice, it isn't something that should be rushed! After each time she'd violently yank the strip off my face and then push it over roughly at a good enough angle for HER, which I get no eyebrow wax is really "pleasant" .. she would then continue to walk out the door of the wax room, look out and see if more customers were coming in, then come back in. I just don't see this as a good way to own/operate a business if she IS the owner or treat your paying customers. I won't go back there again for anything due to what's convenient for me, because apparently me being a loyal customer, making an appointment, and paying my money + TIPS isn't convenient enough for them. read more

I had an amazing pedicure by a sweet girl. She put three coats on my toes with cute gold dots. Adorable! But then, I needed to get a backfill in my gel nails and I asked for shellac. I got Gina. I pray to God nobody gets this lady. She apparently is the boss of everyone in the store and she is the change tiller. She interrupted my fill and polish about 14 times exchanging money with her colleagues. By this time I've been in the store for 1 1/2 hours. She doesn't listen to the customer- when I asked her to cut it down she took her nail filer and shaved it down. When I told her those were not short enough she said "they need to be long." With the plans to go home and shave them down, I asked for the rose pattern on my nails that I've seen on Pinterest, she told me those were "stickers" Which is very interesting because the rose design is all over Pinterest, with tutorials showing how to do it.... Don't argue with her because you're not right. I paid $59 for a full and shellac polish. Be prepared, because the price is never what you expect, it seems to change depending on her mood. I didn't get lotion or oil cuticle care but Clive been at that store for 2.5 hours I wasn't about to ask!!! Oh, by the way, my pedicure, after 1.5 hours was not dry and they smudged in my shoes. I have to admit, that my 2 daughters and I had been a customer of Chic Nails since they opened, and would have given it 4 stars for the location, and the newness and honestly the work was good. The mean woman that works there...I think she is actually the owner or part owner because there is no way someone with her personality could work there if they didn't own it. My daughters and I would joke about the mean woman, but we would still go there, UNTIL.....I went there one day and I got the mean woman. She instantly said "you have fungus, you have fungus"...ummm okay #1 do we have to scream it across the salon, and #2, YOUR salon is the ONLY place I have been to in forever, so I must have gotten it there. She continued talking about fungus the entire time I was getting my pedicure (by her)... she was so nice to provide me with some fungus medicine, and then CHARGED ME!!! I questioned her about this,and her husband as I was checking out (I think it's her husband maybe not) but he seems to be an owner too?? He brushed me off. So thank you Chic Nails for giving me a fungus and then charging me for the medicine to get rid of it.
