Worst haircut of my life. I have medium length hair, a little longer than collarbone length, and I…read morecame in asking for a trim to clean up the dead ends and maybe some subtle long layers. I stressed that I wanted to keep the length all over and the overall look the same, just wanted it to be cleaner and fresher. Well, I got layers but they are not long. I don't know the name of the stylist who cut my hair but she essentially left the bottom layer long and then cut a bob into the top layers. I'm extremely upset. I'm going to have to cut the bottom layer short just to make it look semi normal. What's worse, it somehow looks even shaggier than when I came in. Take your money elsewhere if you don't want your hair butchered.

I am happy with the salon and Imma tell you allll about it! I have been looking all over for a Devacurl-certified stylist close to home, that is reasonably priced and down to earth. Many other salons have umpteen million pics on their sites of the salon itself, showcasing the high class art work or open floor plan...The Strand caught me with their client photos, the great cuts and phenomenal color jobs that range from mild to wild. I needed to reshape my last Devacut from 3 months ago. My ends were dead and the curls hung kinda funny. I didn't need a wash/dry/style (Devacuts are done on dry curls) and made this clear over the phone. I was quoted $45 by the receptionist, and that seemed reasonable, so I made an appointment for my 6 yr old daughter to get her (straight) hair cut too. Everyone was SUPER nice and sweet to my daughter, and she felt very comfortable. I wish I could remember her stylist's name...anyways, she gave my daughter a great cut with a lot of movement and youthful layers and we all were happy with the results. Danielle did my Devacut and she knew exactly what she was doing. We chatted like we were old friends and she took the time to explain what she was doing to my hair. She gave me more layers in certain places to add volume (which I told her I loved). She also told me to call her in case anything didn't look right when I styled it myself. (It's PERFECT. NO COMPLAINTS) And get this - she only charged me $30. My GPS didn't get me right to their door, but it doesn't take a genius to look at an address number and drive a hundred feet til you see it. Don't let that deter you. Take a look at their client photos and you're going to want some Manic Panic style streaks instead of just a hair cut. It's just sooo tempting when you see their work. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Danielle had much information to share and she was generous with sharing it. Another stylist made great suggestions as well. When Danielle revealed the results with my hair, I was delighted. I cannot express how much I loved my haircut. I was in desperate need for a change. Before I went…read morein, my hair felt crusty and matted and all I could really do with it was tie it up. I had originally scheduled with Hannah but unfortunately, she got sick and they had to cancel my appointment. They were super kind and apologetic about it and offered me another appointment the next day with another available hairstylist. They also honored the original quoted price. For example, Hannah charges $40 for a haircut, while the other stylist charges $50, they kept the price as $40. My new hairstylist was Dennise. I was attended to quickly and she sat down and had a conversation with me about what exactly I wanted and my past experiences. Honestly every time I have gone to a salon in the past few years, I leave disappointed. Last haircut I got was about 2 months before this one and they didn't cut it short enough or add any layers like I asked. It cost $150 and I was very unhappy with it. I showed Dennise some reference photos and she gave me suggestions and a walk through on what we could do to achieve what I wanted so that I wouldn't be surprised by anything. Unfortunately the picture I took with my new haircut doesn't really get the back of it so it doesn't do it justice. She did cut my hair slightly different because my natural hair is more to the curly side so she took shrinkage into consideration (and I wanted bangs). But my hair looked amazing! I honestly think I found myself a new permanent salon. I could not recommend them enough. I also saw them do a vibrant purple color on someone and it looked fantastic!!

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this salon…read more When booking my appointment, I was required to pay a $30 deposit for each service. I scheduled a gel manicure and gel pedicure and paid a total deposit of $61.40. Upon arrival, the owner, Yvonne, was occupied with a hair client. The nail technician was called from the back and had to gather all of the supplies for my appointment after I arrived. Nothing appeared to be prepared in advance. The pedicure station raised several concerns. The foot basin did not have a disposable liner, the chair controls were not working properly, and the remote was sticky to the touch. The nail technician appeared to have only an old nail file and a small cuticle tool for the service. The most troubling part of the appointment was the removal of my existing polish. Instead of using polish remover, the technician attempted to remove the polish by filing it off with a nail file. This was painful, and when I asked whether she had polish remover, she stated that she did not. The process took approximately 35 minutes and still left traces of polish on my toes. After soaking and drying my feet, the technician applied oil and then informed me that she did not know how to apply the polish. She said the owner would complete that portion of the service. I then waited approximately 20 minutes for Yvonne to return. She explained that she had been on the phone and mentioned that she was a teacher. When I requested white polish, she first suggested an old-looking bottle of purple polish with separated color. She then attempted to set up a drying lamp, but it would not work properly. After trying different extension cords, she ultimately told me that she did not have white polish available. At that point, I decided to leave because my pedicure had not been completed, my feet had not been properly polished, and my manicure had not even been started. Surprisingly, I was then told that I owed an additional $40. When I questioned the charge, I was handed only $20 as a refund. I was also told that next time I needed to specify the services I wanted, even though my booking clearly stated that I had scheduled a gel manicure and gel pedicure. While I was there, I also observed the technician begin a pedicure on another customer using the same tools, towels, and foot basin that had been used on me without any visible cleaning, disinfection, or sterilization between clients. I left the salon with sore toes and was limping due to the painful filing process. About 30 minutes later, Yvonne called and said she had located white polish and invited me to return for polishing. Given my experience, I declined. This was the worst salon experience I have ever had. Based on my visit, the salon did not appear properly equipped to provide manicure and pedicure services despite requiring nonrefundable deposits for those services. Customers should be informed in advance if the salon cannot adequately perform the services being offered.
