I'm happy to call you after I wake up at 9pm or before I wind down to go to sleep before 8am if you'd like, but out of consideration, I avoided calling you during inconvenient times. I've never cancelled an appointment that I can recall, so I would be interested in the date that I cancelled. If I did, which I find hard to believe, it was definitely with more than reasonable notice. It's comparing apples to oranges, though. I'm sure you could easily fill the spot I cancelled. I can't call and make another appointment with a few hours notice. I'm sorry that those things happened but ultimately, I was unable to get my hair done over many months with your salon. It would have been stellar customer service to try to accomodate me after cancelling on me twice without me having to wait another two months (which would have been a total of four months since my original appointment) or at least offered me some compensation before I wrote a review. The fact that you didn't isn't necessarily a terrible thing, I just have no incentive to make an appointment when I have zero confidence it will actually be kept.

First, I want to be clear that this review is not about my stylist, Heidi. She has always been wonderful, talented, professional, and accommodating. She truly worked wonders on my hair, and I cannot say enough positive things about her. I am genuinely going to miss her and can only hope I find someone as skilled and caring. If she ever leaves D'Iorio's, I would follow her in a heartbeat. This review is about the receptionist and the way I was treated during what should have been an exciting day before my engagement photos. I had an appointment scheduled for foils and color before my engagement photos. My stylist had even agreed to come in while she was on vacation to do my hair. Due to what appears to have been a scheduling error, my appointment was never properly entered. While I understand mistakes happen, what followed was completely unacceptable. After my appointment time had passed and I began asking where my stylist was, the receptionist informed me that she was not going to call her. I was told that if I wanted to know where my stylist was, I could call her myself. The problem was that I did not have her personal phone number. As a customer, I should not be expected to track down my stylist because the salon failed to schedule my appointment correctly. For hours, I was then given conflicting information. I was told my stylist was on her way, then later told she wasn't coming. I was told someone else could help me, then told someone could do a blowout and curl without anyone ever asking what service I was actually there for. When I explained that I was scheduled for color, I was simply told that neither available stylist performed color services. What upset me most was not the scheduling mistake itself--it was the complete lack of empathy, accountability, and professionalism from the receptionist. I repeatedly explained that this appointment was scheduled before my engagement photos, yet I was met with indifference rather than concern. There was no sincere apology, no effort to make things right, and no sense that anyone understood the impact this had on me. Instead, I felt as though I was being treated like an inconvenience for simply asking for information about an appointment I had every reason to believe was scheduled. After being a loyal customer of this salon for over 15 years, I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and completely unvalued. It's heartbreaking that one person's poor customer service and inability to communicate effectively has overshadowed years of positive experiences. I never thought I would be leaving a one-star review for a salon I have supported for so many years. While I have nothing but gratitude and appreciation for Heidi and the incredible work she has done for me, this experience has unfortunately ended my relationship with the salon.
