They did a great job with the comedy at keeping it age appropriate-just enough edge that the kids were scandalously hysterical. I have not seen the adult shows, but they did a great job with the show rated for Jr. High to High school kids. Would like to check out the adult shows another time. While I would have liked painting in person, the pre-recorded sessions are very nice. Hey, one can paint in his/her underwear while drinking a glass/bottle of wine or having a delicious homemade cocktail. The instructor for the two sessions (I believe her name is Matilda) seems like a very friendly and fun painter. Ordering the paint supplies was pretty much a breeze, and the company ships pretty much everywhere in the US. For our virtual event, we had one participant who lived in California, and I believe that she received her materials within a few days. The kits come with a canvass, assorted colors of paint, an apron, 3-4 brushes, and a mixing plate. You have to provide your own beverages. ;) I have to say that Paint & Sip definitely makes sure that you have more than enough painting materials and supplies. In fact, I only needed to order the pre-recorded video for the second event because we still had enough paint from the first one. Maybe I'll even make it to the studio for an event.

The facility had several soccer turf fields, gymnastics area, and couple of basketball courts. The lobby area had a ton of awards, medals and trophies that all the teams won. There were multiple vending machines as well. There were several party rooms at the back side. The rest rooms were kids friendly, as they had mini sinks at lower height for smaller kids. There were multiple staff members assigned to conduct the party. First they took the kids to basket ball courts where they did some relay running, played dodgeball and then did rope tug wars. They took the kids to fountains for water break few times. After the activities, the kids went back to party room where they were served pizzas, fruits, cheese platter, juice and sodas. The pizzas were decent. Finally they orchestrated the birthday song, assisted with cake cutting ceremony and handed slices of cakes to everyone. Overall the service from them was nice.

Inside Field house, there are multiple basketball courts, soccer fields, gymnastics and party rooms. It's quite crowded and busy since there are kids with parents. After that we went back to the party room for pizza and cake. Overall great place for sports and having party. They did a great job.

I have taken classes at HB Studio on and off since 1995. Something must have happened to the…read moremanagement lately. Years ago, I took a voice-over class and they never told me the famous voice-over artist/teacher, who died from COVD in 2020, would not be teaching. Instead, the clown who taught and some snippy lady in class were on my case that you need a British accent for most luxury American commercials. I was not given a refund for the class. Notify people the professors changed and do not have them harassed if they do not have a British accent. This is not London. Tell people they will need one or they will be harassed in class! I must have complained close enough, but they claim I did not. I would say they should give me a "free" (I derived nothing from the class) class with the proper teacher, but he is dead. Perhaps my self-esteem is rising and my patience/tolerance is lessening! I was almost physically attacked about a year ago by a tall Asian man who told me I could no longer audit a class or use the bathroom after having paid thousands to them for years. They were enforcing mask policies when not even hospitals with old sick people were any longer! You can no longer audit or check out a class there. I don't think their office is yet open! In addition, a recent Zoom class I took on acting business advice for $95 was largely a waste of money and really did not tell me something I did not know. One woman had decent accomplishments, the other okay ones. They both seemed to be in the same boat as most on the Zoom. A few on the Zoom class had no experience. After being a member of SAG for more than 10 years, they are so disorganized, they never put it onto my profile. In a hurry, and having decided to the last day of good savings on November 30 to register, I realized, to make a long story short, I'd have to call the office to get the proper discounts. I was frustrated but appreciated the good service of Lluvia Almanza. However, she must be very uppity and complained about me. (Some of us deserve to be uppity at times, but not her.) I had thanked her and had wished her a good day. I was given a refund (thank goodness) and not listened to after defending myself! smh

I was invited by a friend for their initial soft launch earlier this year and I was pleasantly…read moresurprised. This is happy hour and meeting people without pressure - exactly what the company is going for. Since I am the first to review, and I do love that, I'll give you all the low down. It's happy hours for professional singles looking to meet other professional singles. Simple as that. It was all about the execution. Event started promptly, and the Icebreaker of the night was - as they billed it - Adult Bingo, so things like - Have you been on a nude beach, Do you have a piercing, etc. And the first 5 winners got a prize. It was less about the Icebreaker - which don't get me wrong, was a great way to make your way through the room, but it was more the overall beginning to end of the event. They have what they call the HH Host (or something like that title), who is your master of ceremonies, and they have floaters during the event whose job is to talk to everyone, and make the connections between people in the room. Reminded me back in the day during Rush - oh wait - I think the PC term is Recruitment. This event stood out to me 1) cause it wasn't a random match event which sold out in two seconds, but the people attending have nothing in common, 2) the event organizers really took the time to make sure everyone was having a good time. At one point, they did have shots around the room - I think. Overall - it was fun, and I'd go back to an event.

The mix of students includes working actors wanting to broaden their skill set, curious first-timers looking for laughs, white collar types wanting to hone their speechifying skills, and frequent out-of-towners who are curious about the NYC improv scene. Working with such diverse students means that every class is a new learning experience. 2. The vibe, which grows from Carl Kissin himself, is deeply kind and encouraging. It's a safe space to try new things, mess up, try again, and discover weird bits of yourself that are usually too shy to come out. 3. The skills apply to everything in life, especially to interpersonal relationships. Carl pushes us to listen with our whole being and get out of our own heads and completely focus on our scene partner's "message." Guess what? Doing this also happens to be the secret sauce of great communication. I'm constantly amazed how much improv has to teach me about living. It's like therapy, but fun! I suspect some were there not realizing what they were to see. Regardless, he had a command of the crowd and amazed with his mind bending manipulation of his subjects which my wife and I became. He even managed to get our 8 year old son to participate on stage. It was a blast. I do improvisation as part of my living and Mr. Eaton showed masterful control in keeping an audience of all ages and backgrounds immersed in his show. By the end, he had converted his audience from shy and quiet bystanders into willing participants. No hypnosis, no magic, pure entertainment! Go see this show! Any age, any background, any time.

Sam Eaton has the longest-running one man show on or off-Broadway (14 years and counting), which…read moremay seem surprising because you've probably never heard of him. That's because he doesn't advertise and his show doesn't rely on flashy sets or props. It's just Sam, a microphone, some tables, an easel, and a lot of background music. But that's what makes the show endearing -- it's carried entirely by Sam's likable personality and masterful performance. I was selected as a volunteer for the first piece of mentalism, which was an impressive demonstration of skill. Throughout the show, he incorporated many volunteers of all ages, but was never pushy about it. He seemed to have a knack for finding just the right volunteer to fit each part of the show, so no one was reluctant or embarrassed. Some mentalism shows are dry, or dark, or underwhelming. This show was the opposite -- funny, engaging, and impressive. It's a solid value for 90 minutes of entertainment for adults or kids.
