He goes to school in the neighborhood which made it convenient for me and the other parents. With all of the great places to choose in NYC I would say avoid NYC Elite at all costs. They trust in themselves and in the coaches. The environment is a healthy one and quite lovely. We feel very comfortable, as we are a family of trust. For the premium price, I expected an engaging, thoughtful experience, but instead, it felt cold, rigid, and impersonal. The space itself is aesthetically pleasing, but the programming is uninspired, and the instructors seem more focused on maintaining order than fostering real connection or joy. Despite branding itself as play-based and Montessori-inspired, there's very little warmth or flexibility. It feels more like a manufactured experience designed to justify the high cost rather than something truly built around children's needs. Customer service is similarly lacking--automated and indifferent, with little effort to make families feel welcome or valued. There are so many better options in the city that actually prioritize kids' curiosity and enjoyment. Save your money.

While the classes are fine, the customer service is not parent centered despite the values the company puts out there. There is no number to talk live to a representative about a class issue or billing concern, only an email address. They do not promptly respond to email and when you finally get a hold of them, they contradict their policies on their website. You are better off going off with one of the established children's play groups in the neighborhood -- those places have established and clear policies that are consistently applied and actual customer service. Union Square Play is not there yet.

The American Art Fair was held in the Bohemian National Hall on May 10-13. Located on East 73rd…read moreStreet, three floors were devoted to paintings and sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries. I feasted my eyes on exquisite paintings but with prices that ranged from $10K to $350K I could only see and take pictures for future enjoyment. I found out that several buyers had already made purchases. Three paintings caught my eye: Orange Blossoms on a Table (1860), Indian Encampment under Trees and the two women wearing cloche hats. Lectures were held on the ground floor. There was a bar and restrooms. The lady receptionist was charming and told me all about this venue. Unlike the exhibits at the Park Avenue Armory, this exhibit was complimentary. I enjoyed it immensely.

I really loved that they did staggered seating so that the person in front of you wasn't blocking your view. Although the musicians were on an elevated platform, I still couldn't really see them from one of the back rows. It would be great it they raised the platform or created a small stage on one end of the room so that everyone can see the performers. Otherwise, great venue.
