It's been a while since I've come in but can I just say, soup, salad and chicken. Yes, my three course meal at their Tuesday night buffet. The pizza is what they are known for but I come in for the soup, salad and chicken. The salad bar has all my favorites like the green and black olives, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, homemade croutons, red onion and more with all the classic dressings. If I eat in a proper diners order I hardly ever have room for pizza. Which in my mind says I ate healthy and hearty. As for the environment, it's small and cozy just enough room to keep good business. Not too big, and not so small you feel cramped. I have lived in this area for just a few months (in transition) and cannot wait to get out of here (in about four weeks)! I am very sad to hear CDC is closing permanently. CDC's pizza has been OUTSTANDING for decades! Why are the south suburbs so reluctant to provide quality eateries while instead subjecting its residents to fast food drivel?! Family owned/operated establishments are the highjacked victims of municipality greed! The south suburbs need to realize that its residents drive miles NORTH or WEST for quality grocers, clothiers, housing, AND cuisine. If south suburban régimes would invest in its neighborhoods, they might redefine themselves and have "northerners" hit I-57 SOUTH for a worthy lifestyle. Long time staple in the neighborhood. When I were a child my dad would only allow us, my 7 siblings and I to eat at places that he had a coupon for in "THE GREEN ENTERTAINMENT BOOK!" The pizza was good then and it's still good now, and I don't even have a coupon!!! read more

I've been going to Chicago Dough Company for over 12 years now lately after my last two trips to full quality has slipped horribly my favorite was always to Gyro pizza. It was the bomb very good. They dropped it from the menu and when they brought it back. It was just OK. It was excellent with very little meat on it. I was so disappointed Yesterday I bought the sausage and cheese pizza. It was total garbage we hardly know me the sauce has no seasoning. It's just like they open up a can of tomato sauce a pizza sauce and put it on the pizza. I've been in the area for over 20 years and NEVER had their pizza until this past December. I ordered through a third-party app called Slice. When my food was delivered the salad I ordered wasn't packaged. Their website clearly states don't call them for any issues with your order which is odd to me because they're the ones responsible for making and gathering my order. Anyhow the delivery guy was very apologetic and I was refunded immediately when I contacted Slice. That said I was pleasantly surprised with how good the pizza was. So much so I've had it twice since then. The second and third time around I ordered them well done which changed my impression. They were dry, not enough sauce, and lacked flavor. I get most pizzas well done and never ran into this issue. What I will say is the second and third time I picked up. The staff was very personable and pleasant. I'm not totally turned off by them as their ingredients were good quality. All 3 times I ordered mushrooms, spinach, giardiniera, and chicken sausage. read more

This place is a landmark , been around for sometime . The pizza sauce can be unbearable sweet at times . I dined alone and the check was $14.01 . The cashier actually sweated me for one penny . Gave me back $5 and 99 cents. I left over a 20 % TIP at the table . Should have gone back and scooped it up and left 99 cents . But that's not fare to the pleasant waiter . I'm a pizza connoisseur, so I know great pizza especially in the South Chicagoland Area. I can honestly tell you that the Chicago Dough Company's Pizza is quite inferior compared to the rest. I have visited this restaurant several times and each time the pizza severely lacked flavor at tasted like a bunch of dough. I guess that's how it got its name. It actually tasted worse that Pizza Hut. The lunch buffet is a good deal for about 12 dollars. So if you go there please remember to load up on the salad at the salad bar. They have tasty chicken wings and bread sticks. But if you want some good, real pizza this is not the place! Go to Beggars, Gionino's , Lou Malnati's , etc. Chicago Dough is just like eating at Little Caesars, Pizza Hut, and Dominos! Not much to say about Chicago Dough other than the fact that you can't beat their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet for under $10 bucks! They have a full salad bar w/soups, pizza, pasta, bread sticks, garlic bread, fried chicken, corn fritters, and even dessert pizza! I recently moved to a suburb near Richton Park and was looking for an alternative to my local, pizza place. I read the rave reviews about Chicago Dough in Richton Park, so I decided to give it a try. The menu online made the food look very appetizing. I ordered a small, "Spectacular" pizza for pick-up. A "Spectacular" includes: Sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onion, bell-pepper and black olives. Sounds great, right? My total came to a little over $14 with tax. When I arrived to pick up my pizza, the cashier was extremely friendly. She is the only reason that I am giving this location 2 stars... It seems as if they rushed to take my pizza out of the oven; but only one other customer was present in the location at 6 p.m. on a Sunday evening. The pizza itself was bland and under-cooked. The sauce was just okay. There were NO seasonings on the pie. I am far from a raw food expert; but, the vegetables were so underdone that it seems as if they put them on the pie AFTER baking it. I was HIGHLY disappointed. Perhaps, I am being picky, but I like more flavor in my pizza and a fully-baked, slightly crunchy crust. That being said, I did find the leftovers from Chicago Dough to be salvageable. This is only because I seasoned the slices and baked them more thoroughly in my own oven. Maybe I would've done better ordering a "Take-and-Bake" pie from this location; as it seems I had to "doctor" the pizza up anyway to make it taste good. read more

I hadn't been here for years, and I had only been to the lunch buffet when I did go. We decided to try Chicago Dough tonight for dinner, and it was not just good, it was an insane bargain! We did the 2-person special which consists of: a medium 2-topping pizza, unlimited soup and salad bar for two, breadsticks, and a dessert pizza for...wait for it...$20! Insanity! We even had enough left over for lunch tomorrow. We could pick our toppings, and we even had choices about flavors for the dessert pizza (we went with apple...do it)! Maybe I'm just swayed by city prices, but I think this is a really good deal. Everything was yummy, and service was quick and pretty darn perfect, and our server was funny and sassy in the best possible way. I also think the place has a old-time charm about it, with the wooden booths and vintage signs. I had honestly kind of forgotten about this restaurant, but I am extremely glad that we decided to go back tonight.
