When I asked if they could measure 4 more doors because this is a rental and I may need to replace them in the future, the guy on the phone refused saying "I realize you're trying to save 75 bucks". I explained that it would bring me back to them as a customer to re-order doors. He said we don't store that information, I said then give it to me and I'll call in with the specs. He continued to grumble and when I said, never mind, then he said we'll do it. He lied, the guy that came out to measure said I was specifically told by my boss not to measure any door that wasn't being purchased. Mind you it took him only 15 minutes to measure the existing 4 doors. Isn't 15 minutes worth making a customer happy so they return to you? Then there was no follow up, I called in the store a week later and the lady on the phone acted like the estimate had just been put together and that's why I didn't hear anything. She quoted an estimate that was way high when I asked for break down, she included the $75 measure fee that I already paid for (charged to my card by the way before anyone even called to set up a time to measure). Then they say they deliver, well avoid that if you can. I was told anytime on the day with a 15-minute notice. I called day of to ask if the door was ready and can you narrow that window so I can plan my day. Nope can't do that, doors are on the truck it might be this afternoon but then again might be late morning. Every encounter with numerous people was awful. I will not return to this business.

You would think that on a Saturday there would be employees in every department ready to help customers, but not so. It seems that Menards would like to employ order takers to write up sales but no one to help with questions. I walked around looking for someone to help me buy a door. I went up front to the check out area twice to request help before someone showed up. There was a computer in the area that appeared to be a self-service-write-your-own-sales-ticket, but it wasn't user friendly to me. Besides that, I didn't want to write up my own ticket lest I make a mistake. That isn't my job! When someone finally came, he had me come to the back of the store to print the sales order. That's when I realized I should have gone there for help right from the start. Little did I know, that's where all the employees were. There should be signs directing customers to the back of the store if that's how they want to help customers.

The company (Marv's Tree Service) has a contract with the city (thus the URBAN in the name) to remove dead or unwanted trees. And instead of being discarded, they are cut into natural-edged slabs and sold here. The people here LOVE this wood. So many kinds of wood here. I personally don't do any woodworking but I might end up starting to do that now, so that is the only problem I can see with this shop! Highly recommend checking out this store - especially if you are visiting the food truck there (definitely try those chicken mole enchiladas)!

He helped me order the door, brought it to my house and hauled the old one away. When he took off the old door, the entire base of the frame was rotted and literally crumbled. He ran to Menards, got the pieces needed and rebuilt the whole frame/threshold. It is solid! He even noticed a warped board on my deck and replaced that. He did excellent work at a very reasonable price. To say I am pleased is an understatement. This man is a saint and I highly recommend him!!
