Beautiful hotel and comfy updated room. Not sure why so many people are saying the rooms are dated because mine is not. I'm on the 12th floor and perhaps they're renovating from the top down, I dunno but my review is based on my experience from check-in to room comfortability, amenities and overall satisfaction which is so far, exceptional. At check-in, Jenna was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. She answered my questions and was pleasant to interact with. Got to the room and I enjoyed how clean it was. While it's snowing outside and I cannot walk across the street to the mall, the hotel provides a long list of restaurants with several types of cuisine. I'm not sure how many of them deliver but it's a good resource. Or, you can dine at their in house restaurant. Honestly, I like the hotel and would definitely recommend as a Bonvoy elite member.

Stayed here after several years and recommend. Since my last stay, it looked like they had refurbished and updated rooms. I had a standard room and it was clean, comfortable and with great sleep quality (9th floor). Staff was very friendly, and when I checked in pretty early given my arrival to the area they got me right into my room. Common areas were clean, and they have a full Starbucks off of the main lobby area. Proximity to Oak Brook Center is walkable.

1986 vibe in the room, I think. But the bed was comfy, nice duvet, and the shower worked. So for $123 a night, I can't complain. No pool, bummer. There is a Starbucks and the staff was friendly. Free parking.

Well I won't recommend this to anyone this place is bad they take money 2 times from my bank account why don't know I ask for help at the desk and they told me the manager be here tomorrow they told me that 2 times plus the first room I got was 533 was not cleaned I bring one of the pillows to a lady the was cleaning in the lobby she told me I won't touch that take to the from the desk so I when there they give me another room, not my money but another room 633 was problems as well but was clean at least I drive for 12 hours to get here and have the inconvenience I have not come here i put a picture of my last room.

Was here for a conference and it was a decent time. The conference portion was well done. Rooms were at a moderate temperature and the food they had for lunch, breakfast and breaks was very good! The public areas of the hotel are nice and look modern and up to date. It's conveniently located across from the Oak Brook mall so if you're stranded here (because it's not close to transit or downtown Chicago) you can go there for varied dining and shopping experiences. The gym had a good selection of treadmills, ellipticals and free weights. The room was very worn and outdated. Although it was clean, the furniture was scratched and dented and the bathroom was tiny, with fixtures falling off the wall. People working there were nice. It's a good place, they just need to update their rooms.

Great location and average hotel. Property is ok and could have been 3.5 stars but does not have a Concierage Lounge and utilizes downstairs space on the first floor. The location certainly helps make up for it with Oakbrook Center across the street with great restaurant options. I recommend Soka which is straight across the street from the main entrance.

I can see where they are trying to go, but it's not there. The place is in disrepair if you pay attention at all (cracks, holes, chipped paint), a crappy elevator, there's even random crap thrown in a corner still in view of guest. If you want to be taken seriously, then handle all the stuff no one sees that isn't sexy, rather than just putting lipstick on a pig. There's no consistent theme. It's like 5 different people walked through a 2nd hand store in a rush, with no other options, so each picked what they found in their scavenger hunt and then threw it all together. It's a big space. The staff was great and welcoming. Seriously, they were solid. The place is a 2 star, but staff is worth another star. It just felt like coming to visit my aunt who doesn't get a lot of visitors so she threw everything in a closet knowing guest are coming over. We all have to ignore the smell and everything else. The stuff on the walls makes sense to her as they are her memories, but there's no theme other than her history, so none of it makes sense to anyone else. It's just awkward. The reason this place isn't booming is 100% on the owner. They are trying to look bougie, while ignoring real issues, and clearly in way over their head attempting to do way too much with too little. They need to take a loan or get an investor and make this place amazing. It could be, but it's not. Then again, not sure if the place they dream of could survive in that area as the prices would need to double and the area may not be willing to pay. Potential investors may have said the same. I see the vision, but also see the reality, which just frustrated me as there was conflict around every corner. Also, the bar closes early at like 8 or 9pm. Additionally the upgraded rooms with "garden view" are anything but. The actual room is good. The detached building however looks like it was a nursing home that's never been changed or upgraded; at least on the outside and entrance. When you walk in the front door of said nursing home, it SMELLS like a nursing home. It was strong and not in a good way. When you are in your room and look outside at the "garden view", it's a crappy 1/2 wall that appears to have been designed and built as a favor by a drunk uncle who was in a rush. It's very small and insignificant. It's an eye sore, but the "garden" is actually just the back yard looking directly into a crappy middle class neighborhood of back yards. All in all, my "get away" upgraded experience felt more like a motel 6 with a $1,000,000 dream on a $500 budget.

Very tacky. on the second floor, we did not have an ice machine for two days. Not just that, but the machine was taken apart and exposed and accessible to guests. Very tacky. I was also not too crazy about paying eight dollars to park my car overnight in a huge unused parking lot. but the staff was pleasant and the room was nice. The pool did not look terribly clean, but I went in anyway, and the water was the perfect temperature. The hot tub was also very refreshing. Fitness center was very very nice. I literally picked this place because it was a place we could stay that we wouldn't have to leave for food . And just spend time in the pool . I called ahead to verify pool was open. ...... pool was open but it was freezing /dirty . Kids tried making the best of it but super bummed out and I was like let's go upstairs and order room service. & at this point I needed a drink.. Nice little card to scan so you can see your menu options ... so we pull it up on phone kids take 15 mins to decide. Call down to front desk ... she said yeah that's closed . Asked what time it would open she said it wouldn't be there was no chef and bar was closed as well . Literally a complete waste of staying there .. so next morning we go down to pool , beyond cloudy smells like chlorine and it's a little warmer .. placed my foot in water , and it burned not from temperature.. removed my foot and it now stuck to ground . They do charge parking. It is Chicago-land. Staff are incredible. Super friendly and attentive. 10/10 legit. Property is right on the main interstate headed into the city so that traffic is a bit hearable although I have been in hotels that are way louder so this is not a complaint. The main thing here is it is overdue for upkeep and restoration. The property is beat up, the rooms are outdated, the furnace is too loud, and it's just time. To be clear the rooms are clean and the bedding, towels, etc are fresh. Overall I recommend to Yelpers to stay here and I recommend to Marriott and management to make the updates that would keep this property on par with expectations for the brand.

I love Marriott's Residence Inn offering. It's similiar to staying at a luxury apartment, but for a…read moremuch cheaper rate than you'd pay at most places. The cornerish room (edge middle room between two corner rooms) they gave me looked to be recently remodeled. It looks like everything in the building is recently renovated so things for the most part seem newish. No cobwebs or dust in sight (aside from the top of the fridge being a bit dusty, but alas I don't think 6'+ housekeepers are common.) Rooms are equipped with dishwashers, full size electric ovens (some don't have an oven so you have to request it,) a toaster, microwave & a fridge. They feature stand-in showers & low height toilets. Pretty much everything in the rooms is low height which is perfect, especially for those with disabilities. The Residence Inn offers a free all you can eat breakfast buffet from 6:30 am to 9:00 am Monday thru Friday & from 7:00 am to 10:00 am on weekends. There is a pool, jacuzzi, laundry room & gym. It also has a small "marketplace" next to the front desk that consists of a few items you can grab like soda, TV dinners & snacks along with personal care items. Since the hotel is small, all of the amenities are scaled to match. This means things like the marketplace & breakfast buffet have nowhere near the selection of other busier Residence Inns like the one in downtown Phoenix which also includes things like salisbury steak, chinese food & whatever they felt like cooking for breakfast alongside the standard waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, meats, cereal, etc. The breakfast here is a measly eggs (cage free,) bacon, muffins (jalapeno cheddar biscuits in muffin form so not sweet dessert muffins,) & oatmeal. Even though the breakfast ends at a certain time they do have mini fridges that have fat free milk & yogurt along with coffee/water dispensers that are always available (they shutdown the juice dispenser once breakfast closes.) There are several cons though. My room preferences were completely ignored when they assigned the room. Since the edge room they assigned me was on a lower level & near the exit...hearing the frequent slamming of the exit door as people took the stairs was not ideal. Speaking of doors...my door was defective & wouldn't close all of the way naturally so I had to push it until it clicked every single time otherwise anyone could literally just push the door open. The view was also terrible as it overlooked the parking lot & had trees, street lights, etc. blocking the window. The ice maker on the fridge was way too loud. It produces ice at a super slow pace & the buzzer seems to go off every 30 minutes or so. When the ice is done it makes a loud bang almost like a bomb went off as it dispenses the ice into the bucket. The second con is the lack of in-house food options. Third is that there's no shuttle that'll take you to nearby places which is a missed opportunity to earn a lot of extra business from traveling professionals & tourists. For some reason there were no baking pans even though my room had an oven although they did have utensils, plates, pots, etc. The rooms are also not as soundproof as they should be... with me being able to hear people walking outside in a hallway as well as them coming in going from their rooms. I also occasionally heard my neighbors upstairs & adjacent to me moving around or snoring all of which is concerning as it leaves me wondering how much they heard from my room? For a place geared towards business...privacy should be a priority. There was also whisper levels of strange electrical noises that seems to have come from the minisplit HVAC system. I was told house keeping cleans every other day, but they didn't touch my room for the first four days even though I saw them in the hallway. It took me sitting my overflowing trash cans outside of my door for them to go inside & clean the room. Even then they didn't actually clean anything, moreso just replaced the towels as well as made the bed after taking out the trash (of which the recycle bin was returned with large bits of food in it which wasn't mine so even that was not cleaned.) Also be aware of the $5/day parking fee added to your room bill which is charged even if you aren't even driving & therefore aren't using the parking lot. There was no hand soap as well as no lotion in the room so I had to use the liquid body wash in the shower along with my own lotion. Overall, this is a much better option than the normal Marriott hotel in Downer's Grove. The bed is actually comfortable enough to sleep on, the minisplit HVAC system doesn't kick in like a mule (other than the electrical noise it's rather quiet when on,) and every other amenity is leagues ahead of a regular Marriott.

I also had a wonderful interaction with Vicky who was kind enough to answer my questions. The property was clean, and well maintained. The accommodations were great! We really enjoyed the room, and the love and care that housekeeping that took care of the room did to get us in quickly. One thing that I noticed was that each of the staff members who I came in contact with were friendly, and greeted us with a smile while making eye contact. The staff was enthusiastic, and I had the pleasure of the 3 ladies that made breakfast a success! It was not your average breakfast that you get from other facilities. The omelettes were PERFECT! The associate was engaging, and quickly and efficiently managed her busy line making sure to accommodate all guests, and to ensure everyone enjoyed their omelette. There was another staff member who managed the hot foods. She was eloquent, and very attentive. If she thought you needed something it was addressed in a personalized manner. Another staff member named Arnetta was phenomenal! She made sure everyone had a memorable experience. I can't wait for my next visit next month. It is also great when you have family members who are in the area, and you need that perfect place to be close.
