Hotel is okay. Nothing particular upscale about it. The rooms are fairly dated and the hotel overall atmosphere is general. I have been to much better courtyards. However, being the location, it fits the overall look and feel. The staff here is very attentive and extremely nice. They also have a shuttle bus that can take you to nearby restaurants! read more

Stayed here for 3 nights for a work trip and it was a pretty typical Courtyard. The king bed and sofa room was fairly clean when I arrived but it definitely could have been cleaner. The hotel was extremely full so breakfast and more specifically coffee was a long process every morning. There is a free shuttle which is very convenient that you can schedule in advance. I will probably stay at a different property when I return to Deerfield. read more

2nd time staying here and a little disappointed in their services this time. 2 night stay but they said "due to your length of stay we do not provide room service". So they did not make our beds or wipe anything down. They did take our trash and gave us more coffee. When we checked in they were short staffed and we had to wait a long time to get someone to check is in and their elevators weren't working. Their pull out sofa was also very uncomfortable- you can feel the springs under the mattress. The worst thing was that they gave us a wake up call at 7 am when we didn't ask for it! Ha! Couldn't go back to sleep. I like to sleep in on my vacations. I normally like Marriott and this location is great because it's close to the train station and has a nice pool and atrium but the service was not what I expected for a Marriott, especially for the money we paid for a suite! At least you could make our beds!! read more

I stayed here for one night for a meeting in the area. The rooms and common areas were a bit dated. The restaurant wasn't open the night I stayed. I was told it's only open 5 nights. I was a little disappointed that there was no refrigerator in the room as I had leftovers. Most of these business class hotels have a fridge and microwave. The microwave was there, but no way to easily keep something cold to eat later. I was also a bit chuffed to know I had to send a return envelope to get something forgotten. I've literally stayed at 100's of hotels and on occasion forgotten something and they usually have a procedure. It's usually a fee and they will send it by whatever courier they see every day. read more

Decent accommodations. We booked through our travel club so we saved $100 on the room rate, and that's great because it doesn't seem worth the higher price. The refrigerator in the room didn't get very cold. There's no microwave in the room but there is one in the lobby that can be used if you don't mind the walk. There is no elevator at the property so bags must be hauled up stairs to rooms on the 2nd floor. The bathtub has large, refillable bottles affixed to the wall for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but the bottles in our room had not been refilled. Staff was responsive and friendly, however. When we went to the pool there were no pool towels but we called and towels were brought in right away. The pool water was very clear & clean looking. I would stay here again, but not for the public price. read more

Great modern, updated hotel. I stayed one night and it was comfortable. Huge open lobby, check-in was a breeze. Room 227 was standard double queen on the second floor (only 2 stories and no elevator). Room was clean and updated, large bathroom. I loved the bathroom floors. Beds were comfortable. I can't comment on amenities of hotel (i.e., pool, exercise room, etc.) because I didn't use these features. In the lobby is a small food counter where you can order breakfast or lunch. My room rate included free breakfast. I had the traditional breakfast scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, toast and coffee. Decent hot breakfast. They serve Starbucks coffee! Not good! I expect more from Marriott. I live in a Marriott owned property. This was far from the standard I'd expect. A rude manager laughed when I asked if hotel was renovated. I understand that due to Covid 19 many amenities aren't available but not to even offer a cup of coffee in the lobby is ridiculous. No safe in the room. Supposedly we were getting breakfast but instead got an orange and a granola bar?? There was mold in our shower and the curtains were see thru due to their age. Light streamed in the room. I requested a replacement curtain and it was just as bad. See photos. They gave a tiny bottle of water at checkin and refused to give any additional bottles throughout the week. No extra roll of toilet paper was in the room! Had to use kleenex! No cleaning of sheets or offer for new sheets after 5 days. Had to ask for towels in which they gave only one threadbare bath towel. Miserable stay - wouldn't return. read more

Perfectly located with dinning, shopping and downtown Deerfield nearby, this would be a great choice for your stay, that is if you could really call the hotel a Courtyard by Marriott. Marriott should be ashamed of the condition of this property, and how it represents their brand. Just look at a few of the photos I've attached, showing the state of disrepair of this hotel. We had to check twice to be sure we had arrived at the correct address! After searching the hotel for 15 minutes, we finally found someone to check us in (no sign at the front desk). You'll love the photo of the empty parking lot, for which we were charged $21 to park here! (I have never stayed at a Courtyard that charged me for parking). The hotel smelled musty, and the room smelled worse (like dog). The courtyard itself was unusable, overrun with weeds and other debris. I love Marriott Courtyards. But MARRIOTT MUST do something about this one (maybe replace the management, or better yet, tear it down). If you're looking for this level of amenities for your stay in Deerfield, try the Motel 6! read more

Word to the wise ... do not book your reservation here if using an outside website to make your reservation. Front desk staff is rude, lack any customer service skill or knowledge, and very inattentive to any customer needs. Also, not exactly the most educated when it comes to credit card bureaus and investigative services. 3 weeks later, still no follow up about credit card hacking that was traced back to this hotel, and they continue to refuse to accept any responsibility. Had to make multiple calls, and all answers appear rehearsed and calculated. Don't use your WiFi or personal devices here, your accounts and credit cards will be hacked. What a nightmare. I was driving to attend a meeting. I called the main number and spoke to the receptionist named ironically - Adrian - who was the most unhelpful and and ineffectual persons they could possibly have chosen for guest relations. I was simply calling for directions or to be told which landmarks are close to the site. I said what roads I was driving on and he lapsed into a some idiotic spiel "in order for us to arrive at a complimentary interface we must discuss this matter however it's fortunate at this time Lake Cook intersects w Deerfield Rd..." I interrumpted and said first he'all need to speak in plainer language since I was driving and just needed to get direct information. Second Lake Cook doesnt intersect with Deerfield Rd. They are parallel est to west running roads. He then just starts to blurt random places like saying this hotel is next to the Dunkin Donuts and DMV and also next to a Z Gallerie. I eventually found the hotel on my own and of course it was not next to either place. When I walked in I asked which conference room the meeting was in and of course he knew of no meeting or such a thing as a conference room. NOT BOTHERED read more

This is a so-so Courtyard. Just a note, if you have luggage, they don't have elevators, so you may want a room on the first floor. So I ended up on the first floor although that is not my travel preference. There was construction going on during my stay, which was a drag. I think the hotels should be forthcoming and post that on their web site. The pool is supposed to be open at 5 AM. The days I wanted to swim I had to traipse to the front lobby in my bathing suit because my key didn't work on the pool door. The 2nd night, the pool was filled with screaming kids and their rude parents. Yes, other people exist. Get used to it. They have no pool noodles or kkckboards, so bring your own. There is no jacuzzi in this Courtyard. Pfingsten Road is under construction, so it can be a tad hard to get out of the driveway when there is a lot of traffic. The Wifi did work pretty well. They have a very small workout room, and the desk clerk was unhelpful when I asked if there was a full service gym in the area that I could use. I didn't encounter bed bugs as one reviewer mentioned, but there were ants everywhere. I probably won't stay here again, unless I need to be in the business area of Lake Cook Road. read more

Hands down the worst experience dealing with a hotel I've ever had. They need to fire the manager at this hotel she is absolutely the rudest most disrespectful person I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I live locally and had booked through a third party website, big mistake. They didn't have my booking and didn't want to honor the price even though I showed her proof in my email. She was down right hostile with me and it was in front of my 7 year old. I'm a grown woman and she was talking to me in such a condescending tone like I was a child. I was trying to remain calm but it was hard when she kept snapping on me. I understand everyone has bad days but because of her volatile attitude I will NEVER EVER stay at a Marriott again. read more

BED BUGS - DO NOT STAY HERE!! I stayed here for 1 night and discovered bed bugs in the morning. My back was covered in bites and there were multiple bugs under my pillow. I immediately raised the issue to the front desk and they could not be less concerned about the bugs. They informed me that they've had issues with bed bugs in the past and that they would have someone look into it. They did not offer to give me any form of compensation whatsoever and instead directed me to Marriott claims which has been a nightmare to deal with. I had to throw out my luggage and have all of my clothes dry cleaned. The staff at the front desk were completely unprofessional and unsympathetic. They seemed to be more amused about the issue than concerned. DO NOT STAY HERE. There are plenty of nicer hotel options in the area for comparable or cheaper prices such as the Renaissance or Embassy Suites. read more

This is a standard Marriott Courtyard...located close to several business parks. If you have a car with you and if don't have roll-aboard luggage, this hotel is fine, comfortable...nothing more. If you have a suitcase that rolls and you get a room on the 2nd floor, that's trouble...there is NO ELEVATOR in this hotel. I have honestly never stayed in a 2+ story hotel that didn't have an elevator. It is very odd to me. I am a middle aged female business traveler with a back vulnerable to strain...so this was a problem. If you don't have a car, you'll have to walk everywhere...cabs don't come by here often and no public transportation here. Not too many restaurants close-by...no Starbucks, no grocery store, nothing. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars and not 2 is that the staff here are so friendly and responsive. They helped me get my suitcase to the 2nd floor (the maintenance man, actually). I stay in many Courtyards and I probably won't come back to this one but at least the service was good. If they added an elevator, I might come back (with a rental car!). read more

Stayed here for a few nights on a business trip and would never stay here again. For the money you pay, it's kind of a dump. The bed was very firm and the pillows not comfortable. When we checked in I asked "is there breakfast?" Yes she said it's offered in the lovey from 6:30-10 or whatever. Great we thought! Turns out you have to wait in line and pay a bunch of money for not real Starbucks and bad sandwiches. Maybe we are slow, but they made it sound like it was a free buffet. We were all late to our meeting cause of it. Also my room was first floor by cars and IT WAS SO LOUD all morning. I slept terrible. Not coming back, I should have stuck to a competitor I'm loyal to but people I work with like Marriott points - not sure why after this experience! read more

Decent Courtyard. I travel pretty frequently here for work, and they have been quite nice about letting me check in even as early at 9:00-9:30. The hotel does feel a bit dated, though the lobby was recently renovated. There is a "bistro" in the lobby with coffee, breakfast, and a handful of sandwiches and snacks. The gym is quite good, with new equipment and an indoor pool. Grocery stores and a few restaurants are within several blocks. That being said, there is no elevator, and the rooms, while serviceable, are not particularly nice...IE my first floor room had a sliding glass door onto the parking lot. All in, if you're here for work (which it seems like almost everyone is), it will get the job done, but definitely not worth the trip just for a visit. read more

During my stay the ice machine close to me was out of order so i went to the other side of the hotel only to find a man passed out halfway out his room door. i alerted the front desk of this and also let them know that the ice machine wasn't working, the lady immediately helped me out and got me ice before going and checking on the man. 10/10 service i felt very catered to :) read more

This is as nice as it gets for $52/night (I booked it off Hotwire). Clean, modern, convenient, and overall a wonderful deal.

a pretty nice hotel to accommodate business travelers in the deerfield area. not the fanciest of places, but pretty run of the mill as far as courtyards go. the room was clean and spacious, with a large king sized bed and nice sofa area for relaxing. when traveling for work, all i care about is: 1) the bed is comfortable 2) the bathroom is clean and the shower has good water pressure 3) there is a nice desk and chair conducive for laptop work 4) the gym is functional 5) there is food - either downstairs or room service, so i can work and eat at the same time this courtyard hit all of those points, so pretty much a happy camper. the front desk and bistro staff in the lobby are all friendly and helpful, particularly when i checked in late due to a delayed flight and needed to settle into my room and eat dinner ASAP. the only downside as others have mentioned is the lack of elevator. fortunately i didn't have any real luggage with me as i was only staying one night, so heading to the second floor wasn't a big deal. but if your room is on the upper floor of this two story courtyard hotel, then you might be lugging your suitcase(s) up a flight of stairs. they do have bellhops that can help you if needed. you also have to pass the gym on your way to the rooms, and there are large floor to ceiling windows that separate the gym from the hallway. so it's a little weird because everyone that passes by can see your workout - but this is really just a nitpicky point. would stay here again for quick work travel. read more

I got an all-inclusive 2 night hotel reservation for the Marriott Courtyard in Deerfield through Priceline.com. It was never divulged ahead of making the reservation, nor at the time of check-in, nor at the time of check-out that parking was not included. Although this booking was not considered an "express saver" booking, I was still charged close to 40% in "taxes and fees" which should be plenty to cover the parking. What bothers me was that it was not divulged ahead of time and there is a huge abandoned parking lot only 10 feet away that I could have parked at for free. Also this worries me that next time they may decide to add charges to the room for using the towels or for getting a bucket of ice. I think it was a dishonest and manipulative move to add charges to the room without presenting this ahead of time. read more

This is a very nice hotel. Not because it's luxurious (it's not), or because it's beautiful (it's not), but because it has all the necessities, the staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. There's ample parking and it's nearby a bunch of restaurants and a grocery. It's a two-story building and, oddly, there's no elevator, but there are a lot of rooms on the first floor, and I highly doubt they ever fill up. The lobby is nicely renovated and has the cafe that's in all the Courtyard hotels now. The food is good there, though pricey. There's a pantry, as well, filled with snacks, toiletries, and even wine for purchase if you need anything. There was a refrigerator in our room, as well, which was nice. I would stay in this hotel again without hesitation. read more

Clean with a softer comfortable bed. I'd like to give it a higher rating as I love Courtyards, but the heater didn't work so well on a really cold night. It made very unrhythmic sounds that kept me up most of the night. The carpet was worn, it was a littler higher price than most Courtyards I've stayed in, there was no light in the shower, and the doors need replacing for the coat rack. Not only were they prompt in response, they went above and beyond in service for my guests including shuttling us to the meeting, providing recommendations and making sure I was happy with the stay. My family and I checked in at a time the hotel was undergoing construction but were not informed at the time we made the reservation nor when we checked in, that our room was directly above the construction site. When we brought our concerns to the manager, Marisol, after having traveled a long distance and awakening to disruptive drilling very early on our first morning, she responded very defensively. She insisted we had been informed of the construction project, which was blatantly untrue, and proceeded to argue that we were somehow in the wrong for not knowing they were under construction. Although the hotel is nice, I can not recommend this location given the manager's unwillingness to concern herself with the needs of her guests. We come to Deerfield frequently to visit family, and we will never stay at this hotel in the future. We suggest that you do not either. read more

Easy to locate in a nice part of town that is not over populated or high traffic. It is not a long drive to get food or to a gas station from there. But they have no elevator so you have to carry all your luggage up the steps. Our bed was absolutely horrendous! I wouldn't stay there again for that reason solely. I got 3 hours of sleep and that was when I finally moved to the little couch. The walls are paper thin so hopefully you don't mind your neighbors noise. read more

Guess I will review this place since it has basically been my second home lately. First of all, the staff make this place. Super friendly and helpful, even remember me (even though I have been here 3 weeks in a row, the real test will be when I have been gone for a few weeks :) ) when I check in each time. They just redid the lobby (which they are super proud of) and I will admit it is definitely a nice place to hangout in after work or grab breakfast in the morning. The food menu is sparse and could use maybe some healthier options/wider variety, something (I always stare at it and think, I don't want any of these things). The gym is adequate for quick workouts--except the treadmills don't have TVs so be prepared to stare at wallpaper while you run. Beyond the lobby things are less impressive. The rest of the hotel really needs a makeover with its outdated carpeting, wallpaper and worn rooms. Definitely not a dump but I would rather stay in the nearby Marriott Suites, except it's ALWAYS booked. All in all, not a bad place to stay. read more

Have to give a good review, as the hotel staff couldn't have been nicer and accommodating for our large group of family. The housekeeping was great, the breakfast buffet was good, and there is a grocery store, plenty of stores, a great restaurant (Dimitris), a mall, and even a ballys gym within a half mile of the hotel. Sure it's not the Four Seasons, but for a quarter of the cost, it was just as clean and perfectly located for my travel needs. I would gladly stay here again and recommend it to my friends. read more
