Well I clearly didn't listen to the reviews and did not have a great experience! I had to get my toenail removed and when I went to remove the gauze the doctor said they would be a "little" stuck and to soak in water. They were completely stuck to my entire toenail and after soaking for hours and pulling untill it was extremely painful I was told to "just soak it more and rip it off" by the doctor. DO NOT GO HERE. I first contacted CPS in the summer of 2016. I had been experiencing pain in the outside of my right foot for a long time and finally decided to do something about it. Dr. Williams concluded that I had slightly high arches- not super high but just slightly above normal- and fit me for custom orthotic inserts. Which cost $300, with insurance. They seemed to help, so I was fine. In December of 2016 I accidentally kicked a table leg in my apartment, jamming/pushing out my left pinkie toe in the process. I was in extreme pain for a couple of days but it eventually subsided so I didn't do anything about it. After a month the pain was still there (though dull and not constant) so I decided to seek treatment. I was going to go to an orthopedist but since I had already been to this podiatrist, and since the injury was to my foot, I decided to go back. BIG MISTAKE. Essentially, both Dr. Williams and Dr. Bhatt (who I began seeing after the initial appt with Dr. W) concluded, based on x-rays and ultrasounds, that I had a stress fracture in my 4th MT. "Oh, from the table leg?" I assume. "No," THEY BOTH SAID, "stress fractures don't happen from trauma, they happen from repeated use." "But. . . what about the table leg?" I repeatedly asked, to which their response was basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They put me in a boot- Dr. Williams said I would likely only need it for TWO WEEKS but I was in it for EIGHT WEEKS. After which I was still experiencing pain, so they ordered an MRI, from which Dr. Bhatt concluded that I had bursitis (???) and sent me to PT. Five weeks of PT later, I'm still in pain. This morning I finally saw an othropedist, who said a) it wasn't a stress fracture but a regular fracture in the 5th MT (NOT THE 4TH), and there is cartilage damage in the joint OF THE 5TH TOE (NOT THE 4TH), which a) takes forever to heal and b) is exacerbated by the fact that I have VERY HIGH ARCHES which will not be helped by the CRAPPY WRONG KIND OF ORTHOTICS I PAID $300 FOR. So, now I need to buy ugly orthotic-type shoes and wear them for possibly 5 months. And while cartilage injuries take a long time to heal regardless, I'm guessing I would be much farther along had it been properly diagnosed in the first place. The worst part was that they kept ignoring the table leg issue, making me feel like a crazy person. I will say that everyone here is very nice, but in terms of "doctoring" they're pretty awful. read more

Inattentive staff. Treated like a number. Unaccommodating, and ineffective treatment.

DON'T GO HERE. AT ALL. I came in and after they made me wait a half hour, filled out the paperwork, paid the copay and then saw Dr. Carr walk out of his office. 10 minutes later the office staff (who were very nice, I've read some reviews that they weren't) told me Dr. Carr is not covered by Presence Health St. Joseph hospital. But you can make an appointment with the two other drs in our practice. I made my appointment two weeks ago. I didn't have a script from my nurse practitioner. Had to my primary to get a script faxed to the office. And on my insurance card it says I could only go to St. Joes hospital. And yet after I reorganize my day, pay for street parking, to not been seen is so wrong. While on the website Dr. Carr is covered under St. Joes, and doing the research this was the doctor I wanted to go to. And to be told after I filled everything out and have them take my money, I was not able to be seen BUT I can be seen by the other drs on another day like I have all the free time in the world. Take it off the website that you are covered in St. Joseph please. It's like Dr. Carr can't practice at all. And if you are looking, read all the reviews because that is the reason of my I'm not coming back. read more

Be very careful. In my opinion, these guys turned out to be quite deceptive and fraudulent. I went in for a simple check up for a wart that was bugging me. They never mentioned any costs and most similar doctors I found out later do a free consultation. I then got checked and they suggested a quick 30 min surgery which I told them I would do. The doc proceeded to just clean the foot a little bit, and then I find out I get a bill of $460 bucks which included ~$200 for surgical equip and the rest for shaving the skin and $99 for consultation. None of these were disclosed. I am still willing to pay the $99 but not all of it. Wouldn't you think that they would tell you this before doing it? Further, my surgery was a week later and they were going to do that then anyways. They "cleaned" it that week and then would "clean" it again the next week and simply overcharge? I even told them that since I went before xmas, my deductible was going to reset in Jan and I wanted to do any cost incurred work then so it would apply. I also wrote to them asking to explain the situation back in Dec, and still have not heard and just got a bill in the mail. I will be looking into the laws to disclose prior to doing medical work and seeing if I can also report the same with the guidance of the lawyer. The cost is not so much of an issue as is the sheer principal of trying to scam someone. read more

Dr. Thomas Carr was excellent. The first toe of my left foot was awful. It had ingrown nail with fungus for many years. Even when it touches a mattress gently accidentally, it really really hurt. Dr. Carr did a small procedure on it by cutting off a corner of the nail in Dec. 2013. Now, in Feb. 2014, this toe really came back to life. I couldn't believe that I could get this toe back after so many years. Thank you so much, Dr. Carr! read more

While staff and physician I saw were very friendly, treatment was sorely lacking. Went for exercise-related pain in the bottom of foot and heel. Was told I have extremely high arches, some old ankle injuries that left the joint unstable and possibly an old stress fracture. Was prescribed an immobilizing boot and 4 weeks rest plus a course of steroids. Told to come back in 2 weeks. At the follow up, doctor seemed shocked that I'd had no improvement, but I reminded her that this is an exercise related injury and I had been on rest before seeing her and remained on rest per her instructions after our first appointment, so there was no pain to improve. She seemed confused and walked me through the process of getting my insurance company to preapprove custom orthotics and the out of pocket cost if they were not covered. Told to come back again in another 2 weeks to be fitted. Had no idea what the treatment plan was and why orthotics would be necessary if my problem was my ankle as the immobilizer brace seemed to suggest. Felt very concerned that I was not receiving the care necessary to address the problem, so I got a second opinion which also honed in on the ankle, but that the ankle lacks the range of motion and mobility necessary to allow me to exercise pain free. Am headed for PT rather than $750 orthotics feeling much more comfortable with my new physician. Would not recommend for sports medicine type situations like mine. read more

I came in for a ruptured tendon back in November 2015, with Dr. Deepa Bhatt diagnosing my injuries. We scheduled surgery at the end of December for a repair, however, after surgery she mentioned that no repair was neccessary to the tendon and just cleaned off some debris from the injured area. Months later, I could no longer dorsiflex my ankle past the 90 degree mark and experienced major stiffness and pain in the inner ankle bone, so Dr. Bhatt gave me a PRP injection to help break down the scarring. Again, months later, no improvement and I was experiencing pain just walking so she told me to get a second opinion. I went to another hospital downtown and they were able to diagnose that my tendon was still damaged and completely scarred, which is why I could no longer dorsiflex my ankle. They made a new incision to correct the previous injury and now I can actually dorsiflex past the 90 degree mark. Dr. Bhatt was very nice and knowledgable, but didn't seem to have any further input after she couldn't figure out why I had no mobility in my ankle. Thankfully, my second surgery was a success and I'm comfortable walking again. You can catch me competing on NBC American Ninja Warrior again on Season 9 with a fully healed ankle this time around! On a side note, the front desk staff Sabrina was one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.. or you will pay!!! This place is SKETCHY!!! My fiance went there for pain in his foot last December. A couple of weeks after his appointment, we were charged almost $600 on our credit card by this practice without being issued a bill or signing for the charges. I called to discuss this with them and the woman who was quite rude told me that my fiance signed some sort of form that allowed them to charge his credit card without prior authorization or signature (which is *****ILLEGAL***** btw). My fiance would NEVER have signed this form-- it seems like they stick the form in with the new patient paperwork in order to deceive new patients. In fact, he was under the impression that he was signing an insurance authorization form. I cannot fathom how a business could justify charging $600 on someone's credit card without alerting them first. (Did I mention that it was 2 weeks before Christmas?) After seeing the charge, I demanded a copy of the invoice. The woman I spoke with proceeded to tell me that she could not give us an invoice. She said that they run the credit card charges for the month PRIOR to issuing the monthly invoices and there was nothing she could do. If that isn't the most backwards billing system I've ever heard of.. Here's the thing.. this is a CHOICE they are making. They are CHOOSING to run their credit cards before the invoices because they are (A.) Greedy (B.) Unethical and (C.) they want to create a delay that stops people from disputing these charges. Oh and what was the $600 for you ask? I STILL DON'T KNOW. They finally sent us an invoice that contained absolutely zero detail except a few indecipherable codes and the total. Upon asking for more detail, they sent us the same copy with handwritten scribbles all over it that I guess was supposed to provide information but I could not make out. Bottom line: charging people's credit cards without their consent is illegal. Even if they trick people into signing a form that allegedly allows them to do this, it's still a violation of Visa's terms to process a credit card transaction without a signature. Period. Never mind that it's also highly unethical and rude, and then to withhold invoice information. This place really sets a new low for billing practices. Oh.. and I've spoken with an attorney who told me that doing this may very well violate Chicago Podiatric Surgeons' contracts with various insurers as well. I think everyone that was charged without their explicit consent should call their credit card company and dispute any automatic charges that were processed by this practice. Chicago Podiatric Surgeons will be unable to provide a signature authorization for the services because there never was one. Maybe then they would respect their clients enough to inform them of charges before wiping out their bank accounts. read more

If you ever considered this place, don't! I have had bunion surgery here and choosing this place was the worst mistake I've ever made. If I write reviews I usually like to always right something nice, but this was an awful night mare. I had gone in and Dr. Bhatt Montoya had done my consultation and at the time failed to tell me about the actual post op surgery. Let me start with leaving the facility day of surgery. After I got out I was on many drugs and they expected me to walk out just fine, I had to ask for a wheel chair. Suddenly as my sister and I drive off, I had realized they forgot to give me my pain medication. Which keep in mind the pain is awful for the first two days. My sister turned around and got the medication, after having to wait for the pharmacy to fill it, I was in the worst pain of my life. Let's fast forward that to 2 days later, the pain was unbearable, I decide to go back to Dr. Bhatt Montoya and she decides to inject my foot with lidocaine. Within 24 hours of that injection my foot swelled up to a watermelon and I had the worst burning pain all night. I was crying and my boyfriend rushed me to the ER in the middle of the night where the Doctor in the ER had told me this was now infected. I had then got anti biotics and it took 10 days for the swelling to go back down, and as it was going down, I ended up with blisters and had to be in a wheel chair since the my foot wouldn't even fit in a boot. I kept going in every two days to keep an eye on my foot and of course they do not take the blame for anything. I knew it was from the injection of lidocaine and she kept saying it wasn't. I insisted what is it then? How does this just happen to someone ? My sister had this surgery and she didn't experience one ounce of the hell I went through. Keep in mind my ER bill and having to go to the dr has been extremely expensive. Unnecessary costs which is not fair to me. No one in that office cared about the pain and suffering I went through. It's now been three months and I still cry about the pain, the money, the time, the healing process that it took me to get through this. If you are thinking about getting this surgery, please do not go here and ask about the post op because that is the most important. This place needs to get shut down. read more

I recently had a Appointment to have a callous removed from my foot. Dr Williams did a horrible job. There was a lady that I saw before ... I assumed she wasn't there anymore but she was Excellent.. She wrapped my foot with a cloth that had some type of solution on it that softened the callous. She then with a scalpel removed all of the dead hardened skin. Dr Williams didn't do any of that... I honestly can not remember if I had had 5 or 6 consults with different doctors and clinics in the Chicago area over the last couple years. I had initially gone to CPS for a second opinion after new inserts just weren't working from another podiatrist I'd rather not name. Dr. Bhatt Montoya was able to work me in when my foot pain was really flaring up and for that I am truly grateful. She did what the other doctors weren't able to do. After hearing about my history, she advised surgery and it was one of the best decisions I've ever been prompted to make. I tried shoe inserts and injections but nothing seemed to help. I trusted her fully and in return after years of heel pain I can finally say the stabbing pain is gone. After surgery my foot swelled up but Dr. Bhatt Montoya assured me that was normal. DO NOT go here. I could not get in with Dr.Carr so I saw Michael Williams. I have P.F. I got a shot of cortisone and was told that the only way to fix my pain was for him to drill 6 holes into the bottom of my heel spin my plasma and inject it back into my heel. I said let's try other things. I went back into the office a second time with in the week because the cortisone shot did not work. I had a 20 minute conversation with the receptionist that I was making this appointment with another doctor that I did not wan to see Michael Williams. Receptionist understood and made the appointment with another Dr. Much to my surprise when Michael Williams comes into the room. Again he insists that I schedule surgery right away! I'm talking he is cutting me off telling me I have to get in there for surgery. When asked if this works he say's yes most of the time, just like the cortisone shot that didn't work for me. When I came home to research his procedure, there is no proven evidence this works. Not once did he suggest P.T. Not only that but insurance doesn't see this surgery as a "real" surgery so they bill it out as something else and scam the insurance company and then have me pay $600 out of pocket for the "kit" which are the test tubs to spin the plasma. Talk about a SCAM! No wonder insurance costs are so high. I called a Physical Therapist I used years ago for a different injury. Went in to see him and now I"m on my way to another foot doctor. What an SCAM center this place is. Did I 'mention the $1000 orthotics I was fitted for? Good thing my insurance covers $700 so I can pay the rest of it out of pocket. But if I did have to pay out of pocket they would only charge me $750 SCAM. I'm sorry to say that I cannot recommend Dr. Carr to anyone with Plantar Fasciitis. I started having this P.F. problem in mid-Sept. 2007 and I went to see Dr. Carr in early Nov. 2007. He did X-rays and spoke briefly with me. He got me fitted for some orthotics. Now that my Plantar Fasciitis is finally healed (Due to a great physical therapist.), I realized 2 things that were wrong with what Dr. Carr did. 1st instead of getting me orthotics, the better thing would have been to prescribe a good physical therapist that would help me get rid of the inflammation with massages, ultrasound and proper exercise. 2nd , the type of orthotic (very rigid) was a terrible choice for someone with P.F. Luckily at the end of March 2008, I went to a different podiatrist who prescribed a great physical therapist. The physical therapist told me not to wear the orthotics and worked on reducing my inflammation. Once the inflammation was gone, she ordered flexible orthotics to help prevent the problem from coming back. If you ever have P.F. don't go to Dr. Carr. His decisions caused my P.F. to last about 4 months longer than it should have. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Williams and received a Hemicap joint replacement during the summer of 2016. I would like to note that Dr. Williams was wonderful and I was very happy with my surgery. However I would not recommend this practice because the office staff, billing area, and receptionists are absolutely terrible and exceptionally rude and irresponsible. During the fall of 2016, I was fitted for orthotics and told to call and let them know within 48 hours if I wanted to cancel the order. I called within 48 hours and left a voicemail instructing the practice not to order the orthotics. When I returned for a follow up appointment, I was told that I had an outstanding balance in excess of $500.00 for the orthotics that had been ordered. I told the receptionist people that I had called letting them know not to order them and was told that the charge would be removed from my account. I just received a letter from Transworld Systems (which is noted as a COLLECTION AGENCY) saying that I still owed $567.00 for the Orthotics. I called to get this removed and was once again told it would be taken care of and pushed off by the receptionist. She put me on hold without waiting for a response from me and while I was mid-sentence. The receptionist was rude and patronizing when I explained my issues. This has not yet been taken care of and I was told that I could not contact the billing person and they would not give me her number. I would like to mention that it is illegal to falsely report people to a credit bureau. read more

When the doctor came in, it was decided that I was going to receive orthodics. The technician came back in and took the mold for orthodics. It went very smooth. I went to them for a year visiting Dr. Han. Hands down he's the best podiatrist, very attentive and helped to heal my ailments. He's also very personable and would recommend him again. However, their billing system is a nightmare. I have been fighting for 2 years about bills they kept sending me but could never show me the previous payments I had made every time I went in (I had the receipts to prove them). After two years they sent it to collections but still couldn't show me the last payment I made. I've asked for detailed bills which don't show all the payments either. Now I can't get the collections fee reversed even though I had been staying in contact with them to resolve the situation. I would say there are other good doctors out there without the nightmare of their billing system. If you want to be ripped off, go to them. read more

In the last 10 or so years, I've been to at least 3-4 podiatrists for the removal of a corn on my right foot. In one case, I even got to the surgical suite at the hospital when the doctor, for a lack of a better word, chickened out saying that he couldn't ensure the surgery would result in a straight toe. And honestly, I don't recall any of those doctors even taking x-rays. Anyway, after years of dealing with an unsightly toe (my vain side) and an increase of pain and pressure when wearing certain shoes, I decided that this was the year to get the corn removed. I looked into a few different doctors and settled on Chicago Podiatric Surgeons because they were in-network, their facility was comfortable, they were close to home, and because of Dr. Han. During our initial meeting, Dr. Han took x-rays and suggested that instead of removing the whole toe knuckle (which is what all the previous doctors told me), he could shave down the bone in order to salvage the otherwise fine knuckle. This seemed a lot less obtrusive! I scheduled my surgery for a week or so later and in the between time, I was in constant contact with the staff to make sure that my insurance covered the procedure; to get procedure codes so that I could determine my out of pocket responsibilities, etc. The staff was incredibly nice and more than willing to help with all of this. Day of surgery, I took the prescribed pain medication an hour before and opted to have a local anesthetic (I was awake for the entire procedure). Dr. Han and his team kept me informed during every step of the procedure - from insertion of the numbing agent and incision to stitching and wrapping the toes and foot. I, in return, told Dr. Han that I would haunt his dreams if he did anything wrong. After surgery, I had to return to the clinic multiple times - mainly just for re-doing the surgical wrap (since my foot was numb, I couldn't tell that the wrap was too tight) and they were always accommodating with same-day appointments. I am now a week and a half post-surgery and my stitches have already been removed - Dr. Han said I was healing faster than expected. I'm still walking a bit slower than usual, but considering my everyday activity hasn't changed otherwise, that's a good trade off. I'm still slightly swollen and will be for a few weeks (up to 3 months) but can tell that I'm well on my way to having the right end result - no painful shoe experiences or summertime embarrassment. The most amazing thing is that I hardly had to take any of the pain medication. One pill before surgery, one as a precaution before the wrap was taken off and re-applied (the pill wasn't even necessary) and maybe one or two other times. The pain wasn't just tolerable - it was nearly non-existent. Dr. Han is amazing. Don't let his age fool you - he's quite young (not sure how old) but he's truly talented and incredibly personable. He made the entire pre- and post-surgery experience 'enjoyable'. I see that not all of the reviews for CPS are favorable, but this is just my experience - and it was a really good one! I would recommend Dr. Han to any friend or family member considering this procedure. And if anything changes after this review ... I'll let you know! read more

I went for a 'surgical procedure' on my little toe with associate of Dr. Carr (name escapes me, but he disappeared suddenly from the scene about a year after the office opened). The surgery didn't work. Went back to see Dr. Carr who was eager to re-do the surgery that didn't do the trick. He didn't charge me for it, to his credit. They did diagnostic procedures during my visit without being clear with me how much they were going to cost. They charged much, much more than blue cross-blue shields premium plan reimburses, which left me with an ENORMOUS bill. Two months later, I'm still getting new charges billed for my single appointment there. How is that possible? All told, it's costing me upwards of $900 out of pocket for a sore toe! Contacted them and told them my insurance changed asked a lot of question before setting up appointment. They told me that that took my insurance, I get there and they then state they don't drive 2 hours, they really screwed me. Not only that they charged me 2x's for x-ray that they could've got from their other office. Lack of communication between both offices for same organization is non-existent. I saw Dr. Han this past June, in order to correct a foot surgery (on three toes) I had done back in December. I can't say enough about how much I respect this man and his work. He was clearly very caring and patient with me, and I could tell that he took a lot of pride in his work - which made me feel so much better having him re-do my surgery. The result was exactly what I expected, and - I know this sounds funny - but for the first time in 31 years, I'm not self-conscious about my toes anymore. This office defines why many people have a real concerns about the integrity of medical care and the associated motivation for healthcare billing. The reason for my particular visit was for a "consultation". In general, reasonable people can agree that the purpose for a "consultation" is to discuss the potential issue that a patient is experiencing and for the medical professional to offer their honest and candid advice. I asked Dr. Williams to examine two toes on my left foot and let me know what the issue was. He quickly assessed them as being warts and he said we could do a (a) topical treatment or a (b) complete removal with surgery. He also noted that on one of them I might have to lose a nail to get to the wart but he wouldn't know until we scheduled the procedure. That sounded fine with me and we agreed to do that. I also asked him to look at the side of my left foot and see if there was a wart there. He looked quickly and said it's just a callus. Nothing to do with it. He then takes out a shaving device and proceeds to shave it down. I didn't process what he was doing but it took less than 3-4 seconds and then we wrapped up the consultation. We decided to check-out and I scheduled my appointment for the wart removal 10 days later. I received a bill from them after the visit and now is where I have the issue with this office: Usually, there is a stated fee for this "office consultation" visit and that fee can vary amongst providers. Irrespective of their fee, I generally think that if you are using someone's time, you should compensate them for it. Especially in a services- based business like healthcare. I had no issues with the bill I received for the "office consultation" visit. However, I received 2 additional charges for "Shaving Skin Lesions" on both my feet. The parts that make me so frustrated is that (a) he didn't do anything to my right foot and has inappropriately charged me for it (b) he knew that all I had on my left foot was a skin callus - he assed that quickly from just looking at it. And now that I am reflecting on it, he should have never touched it. I never asked him to shave a callus and I'm not sure why he felt the need to do it. It was completely unnecessary. Lastly, if for some reason he felt the need to shave it down, I was never consulted on what he was doing and never presented with the cost of his 3-4 second maneuver he pulled. I called their office to complain and have gotten nowhere. Sabrina was very helpful and nice and she's done what she can. Dr Williams was unapologetic for what he has billed me for and somewhat brash. Not sure that's what I expected from a Service provider. I guess everyone will come to their own judgement as to the efficacy of this podiatrist and their overall practice but I can't help but be very disappointed at the situation. This is classic over-billing and then hoping healthcare insurance providers pick up the tab. There are times when you just know something isn't right and this feels that way. If you have options, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

Hold on to your wallet and self respect and look for another office for your podiatry needs. This is a for-profit center, not a healthcare provider. As noted by prior reviewers, deception and poor service are likely. I had a simple tissue scraping to remove scar tissue. Required less than 4 mins of attention. No blood, no bandages, no lab tests. I was not told in advance that the podiatrist was performing "surgery," but my bill showed the procedure as a surgery. $110 out-of-pocket...after my insurance company paid!!! When I complained about the lack of advance notice, the office staff was rude and unreasonable. Spend some time finding a podiatrist who will perform simple procedures like this as part of an office visit -- I have since done exactly that! read more

This place gets a "no star" rating. I went to this office with a broken toe. Dr. WIlliams said he could fix it. When I came in for the surgery I felt like I was in for a dental procedure - not surgery. They had me leave my street clothes on which does not make sense when things need to be sterile so as to prevent infection. One of his assistants dropped an instrument on the floor, picked it up and handed it to Dr. Williams. Same with a drape that they were trying to place to obscure the procedure - it fell off the stand to the floor and she picked it up and put it back up. So much for a sterile environment! I had some pain the first and second day after, which then got increasingly more severe with each passing day. I went for my follow-up and guess what - they removed the dressing and I had an infection. Was given antibiotics. My pharmacist questioned the dosage as being too low to do much. Three day later my toe is blown up, purple and weeping. Can't walk. Call the office but it's Saturday so I get an answering service. They do connect me to Dr. Williams and all he can offer is that I should come in Monday and he will take a look. I then end up at an Immediate care clinic - a shot of antibiotics and another prescription to add to the one I got from Dr. Williams. It's now Monday and I had to go back to Immediate Care. They did xrays to make sure there wasn't a bone infection and added on yet another antibiotic. This place is unprofessional and filthy. This was simple 15 minute and it should not have compromised my health. I regret not checking their Yelp reviews before going there. read more

I recommend Dr. Williams, he has been attentive with a few of my concerns. Plus, he explains what the issue is, which is very nice. The only reason I am not returning is because the front desk staff is an absolute nightmare. They screwed up my appointment and then proceeded to accuse me of making the mistake. They also were arguing with me in front of other patients - Incredibly unprofessional. I can understand that mistakes happen but they need to be addressed in a specific manor, which they were totally disrespectful. The woman actually held her hand up to me, as if to say "quit speaking". I do not make a scene, I even had an email confirming my appointment - to which she refused to look at by seeing "I don't need to see it, I don't need to see it". Following this, she was asking me about my account balance and basically announced it to the entire lobby. I am a loyal client so this is a shame. Dr. Williams is great, but he deserves a better support team. For this reason, I will not be returning. read more

Unfortunately, for the past few years I've had a very bad case of plantar warts. I was getting sick of going to a podiatrist once a week for freezing treatments, so I asked my doctor what I could do. He recommended I go to see Dr. Thomas Carr at Chicago Podiatric Surgeons. I checked to make sure that Dr. Carr was in my health insurance network (he was) and went to him for a consultation. My first impression was that it was a really high-end place. After Dr. Carr recommended surgery, I was told repeatedly by the staff at Chicago Podiatric Surgeons that "I had nothing to worry about" and "they'd take good care of me". Not so, not so. It has been perhaps the single worst experience of my life. Dr. Carr surgically removed numerous plantar warts from both feet, and I was sent home with some hydrocodone. The next 2 months were filled with pain, tears, suffering, phone calls, sleepless nights, cursing, and being nearly completely unable to walk. I have never been through such pain! Removing the bandages three days after surgery - which were stuck to the wounds - was the most painful experience I've ever been through. At times I couldn't sleep because of the burning pain in both feet. Each step - even today a full two months after the surgery - is complete agony. I had to go see a different podiatrist to make sure that the wounds weren't infected. The office staff at Dr. Carr's office has been completely unresponsive and often downright rude. All in all, I don't feel like I was taken care of very well. And, to make matters worse, my insurance company is refusing to pay for the $6207.00 surgery because the surgical suite located inside Dr. Carr's/Chicago Podiatric Surgeons, called River North Surgical Suite, is, according to my insurance company, "not a qualified treatment facility". IN OTHER WORDS, THEY AREN'T PROPERLY LICENSED (says my insurance company). Recommendation: stay far far away from Dr. Thomas Carr and Chicago Podiatric Surgeons! read more
