It used to be that the only choices in the Chicagoland area for outlet shopping was Michigan CIty or Kenosha. Michigan City is a pain to get to and for the drive, it hardly seemed worth it. Kenosha is a complete horror show, unless you like shapeless, boring mom clothing and orthopedic shoes. But with the addition of Aurora we have completely changed all of that. Now we have fabulous, fashionable brands like Armani, BCBG, Calvin Klein and Diesel for clothing, Guess, Puma and Nine west for shoes, and Coach, Michael Kors and Dooney & Bourke for handbags. It is a rare day we go there and I dont find at least one incredible deal. Last time I was there I got a new pair of Pumas for $35 and a wool Benetton sweater for $20. Cant beat that! Several times a year, a small group of my friends and I will trek out to Aurora for a day of serious shopping. The deals to be had here are second to none. It would take me days to list all of the fantastic finds, so I'll just make note a few highlights. Benetton - My favorite store HUGELY discounted makes me one happy girl. I've purchased several full suits here at absolute steals and I just got a pair of pants that fit me like they were tailored specifically for me for 25 freakin dollars!!! Cosmetic Company Store - Did someone say discounted Kiehls??? Yes, at nearly 50% off of retail, I'm stocked up for the next year. Kenneth Cole - Had a half price boot sale a few weeks ago. Half off already reduced prices so most boots were around $50/pair. BCBG - This store is hit or miss for me. Sometimes I'll find nothing, but the last time I was in they had several full racks of cocktail dresses marked down to $40 - $50 - SCORE! Theory/Tahari - While quite a bit cheaper than regular retail, these stores are still pretty expensive. But if you hit on the right day, there are finds to be had. Diesel - I never have luck with the jeans here, but I've scored on a few pairs of shoes. Kate Spade - Still pricy, but somethings are worth it. They had a big shoe markdown last time I was in. Coach - Avoid! It never fails to be a complete madhouse. The Michigan City store is much better. Banana Republic - While there are a lot of deals to be had here, it's sometimes not worth it to fight the crowds. It takes some serious energy to get through this whole mall, so I'll usually reserve mine for the stores I really want to get to. Again, the MI City version is a little better. Other things of note: - Parking can be a bitch. - The food court is a joke, so either eat before you go or buck up for some scary Chinese food. There's one sit-down restaurant on-site, but I've never tried it. - Also, beware the Juicy Couture store. While I would never set foot in there, I have experienced the deafening jams being pumped by their DJ - who you can see and hear from outside. I despise Juicy. - Finally, if you visit their website before you go, you can print coupons for many of the stores for even MORE savings. read more

I miss living close to this mall. It's not necessarily a full outlet mall since maybe half of the stores are outlets. Others are definitely charging full price for their merch. You do have to look at the title in the store names to see if they are even advertising themselves as "outlet" or not. The hubs and I love making a trip out here even if we have to drive 35 minutes to arrive. Our favs tend to be J. Crew, Banana Republic, Reebok, Nike, Lucky Jeans, Aldo... to name a few. They are going through a ton of construction right now. Tons of new stores and parking are being added. So we'll have to visit again once that is all finished. Hopefully the parking situation gets a little easier. Food court is pretty disappointing. Same fare as any other mall. Greasy, gross, and overpriced. Word to the wise - totally not worth visiting on the weekends when it's sunny and 75 degrees. Unless you want to wait 40 minutes to find parking and another 40 minutes for each dressing room line and another 40 minutes in each checkout line. Come on a weekday when you have a day off or maybe in the evening. read more

My experience at the Chicago Premium Outlet was interesting to say the least. Going on a Monday at 11:30 proved the location to be rather empty. This was almost a shock (shout out to my fellow Yelpers for pointing out how small the parking lot was) because the parking lot was STACKED! I couldn't believe how tiny the parking lot was for an outdoor mall! The stores available were of good/high quality. I chuckled to myself as to the eagerness of each employee when we walked into their doors to talk to us. It was pretty obvious that we were there on a slow day. The Wilson Leather store was hopping but the associates were way too aggressive. I'm not sure if they are paid on commission, but I would recommend that they put the coffee down. The food court was typical, the bathrooms were clean but I didn't buy a single thing while I was there. My friends on the did not left empty handed, so I was mildly happy for their success. There weren't too many locations offering women size clothing and the stores that had product, didn't carry anything special and the prices were the same as the retail stores. read more

Four girls, over-extended commute time (thanks 290 construction!), funny conversation= shopping 'till we dropped once we hit the Aurora Outlets. This outlet is NICE! It's easy to get around even w/the swarms of people. Who knew I loved Addidas so much? Purchases included: *Cute purple flats from Stella McCartney (hello, who knew she designed for Addidas!) ($70 down from $200 something) *TON of work out clothes *And the biggest perk- everything was buy one get the second half off Next destination: PUMA (Did you know that the owners of Addidas and Puma are brothers? Yea, I got educated during my shopping trip!) *Cute little white/green sneakers ($40) Banana Republic: *Ton of stuff 20-60% off. We scored some good dresses/tops. *The fitting room is awful. There are only seven rooms and two were occupied by two friends who tried and talked about the pros/cons of each outfit for about 45 minutes (no joke) as the rest of us in line poked our eyes out with a pen. Le Creuset: *Ummm....bought by first Le Creuset grill pan- discounted at 20%! Score for me and I love the lime green color. *Two thumbs up for the uber friendly/helpful staff Coach: UMM...we never made it in. There was a 20-30 minute wait time at the door to even get inside the store. I like you Coach, but not that much! BCBG last call: Not a huge fan. The clothing looks sad. My girl friend was lucky enough to find three or four very cute finds. Theory: Fun to look at, but even at discount, it's still a bit steep. Gap: Friends founds good stuff but I refused to deal with the mayhem. Benetton: I didn't buy anything here but a jacket my dad just bought me a couple months ago was already here and discounted. Sad face for me. Obviously we made it to more stores. It was just in/out, in/out, the above was what stuck in my head . I think this outlet mall is overrated. I usually go during the dead of winter, which is probably part of the reason I don't like it. Shops are all indoor, but to get to each one, you have to wlak outside. Not so fun when its 10 degrees out. Anyways, the deals at the outlet mall aren't that great compared to other big box stores. I'm speaking specifially about the nike, addias, and other sporting goods stores. There are plenty of stores here, but nothing for me. Avoid this place at all costs on the weekends, especially when it's nice out. It's a madhouse. Don't even get me started on the day after Thanksgiving. I have a cousin who is an Aurora police officer, and he loves to work overtime, but he refuses to work that shift, because that brings out a whole different kind of crazy in people. read more

It took me 30 mins to find parking and then I had to wait in line OUTSIDE of the Coach store just to make a return and then make a line INSIDE of the Coach store. HOW RIDICULOUS. I went here on Black Friday in 2008. The cars were stopped miles before the exit, and I had a run-in with a cop trying to avoid. It's THAT crazy. Why did I go? I guess I enjoy freezing temperatures and mass amounts of people bumping into me. Or maybe I'm just insane. Since it was nuts, I had to carefully pick which stores to invaid first. I love this place. I frequent New York & Company, Ann Taylor, and most recently, Dress Barn. Knowing my tendency to prefer the shops on the East side of the mall, I always park in the "back." There are always plenty of spots available, and even when the place looks hoppin,' the mall never seems uber crowded. If you go to the Premium Outlet's website, you'll find a slew of coupons by signing up for their free VIP "club." Worth it. Give them your e-mail address, and you'll never shop without a coupon again. I've gotten really amazing deals from Coach and Ann Taylor. I shop at NYCo regularly--lots of comparable pricing with the regular store, but there is always a bigger selection of clearance items which is where the bang comes. If you're a dig through the clearance rack kinda gal, this is the NYCo for you. Steer clear of Famous Footwear (it's the same as your regular store, but way more crowded.) The food court is pretty decent, and if you're just looking for a quick snack, take a stroll from counter to counter for about 5 free samples... Errr...did I just say that? Anywho, enjoy. This is a great outlet mall with lots of high stores. Overall I really liked it and want to go back on a weekday when it's not so crowded and I have more time to browse. Pros: Dooney and Burke, Juicy, J crew, Nine West, Coach etc Hello fasionistas! Nice layout and huge!! Lots of deals to be had for those with patience. Cons: Large parking lot but it was full to the brim!! Far away - where is Aurora anyway??? LOL LOTS of kids! Ugh A line for the Coach store?? Tag Heuer & Under Armour are now located here. If you're familiar with this mall, Tag Heuer is right next to Le Creuset on the west side of the mall. Under Armour is located on the northeast portion of the mall near the Oakley store. From what I saw, the discounts at Tag Heuer were pretty significant. Under Armour just opened so only time will answer that question. Two nice rebounds to replace those who left recently. I hope to review both stores in the near future. Previous rules of mine still apply. If you go on a Saturday, go after 5:PM unless you're a LOVER traffic and having people on top of you. read more

Firstly, I have to admit outlets are not my thing. That being said... Super crowded, overpriced, boring. Good luck finding parking on the weekends or god forbid the holiday season. Lots of people will say it's cheap, but those are the people coming from Chicago/Naperville/Richer towns that expect expensive stores. An average, lower-middle class citizen is going to find it expensive. The most exciting thing that happened was the smash and grab. Gotta give it to the mall for cleaning it up quick though. read more

This mall has everything....EVERYTHING. They have all kinds of kitchen, shoe, accessory, name brand store you can think of! I don't even have to name the places but I find myself here when I get that 40% everything at the gap Outlet stocking up on jeans & clothes whether I need them or not! Just a few recommendations...if you live in the west burbs, or just plan on driving out to do some shopping, go at off peak hours, otherwise parking is a nightmare. This place is huge and they added a new wing onto this place, but every time I pass this place on the expressway on a weekend, I get anxiety just looking at the place & I'm not even going there!!! So if you're like me... pick a weekend night, weekday, etc. I've seen the line on Black Friday down 88 on the expressway for miles, I've even seen a line wrap around the mall to get into the Coach Outlet so arrive here with patience. read more

What a disappointment! I was in Aurora for an exam and the only thing that was keeping my spirits up was the fact that I would go to the outlet mall that everyone has always talked about. My bf even gave me a time limit.... well that time limit wasn't really necessary. When we first drove in my jaw dropped because I thought we would never find parking! People were parking everywhere, by the curb, in the spots, wherever their heart desired. We had to follow a family in order to get a spot! Here is my overall opinion of the mall - unorganized stores, crowded space, prices not cheaper at alllll, more stores with crappy old merchandise, not that good of a selection of stores, just so disappointing. The only excitement of the day was at Tommy Hilfiger, the girl that worked with me helped me soooo much. I have a hard time finding jeans that look good, but surprisingly I left the store with a nice pair! I don't know if I will be returning. I can get better deals and better selection online! read more

I love this outlet mall, though I have to preface this review by saying I live 15 minutes away - so I'm biased. I don't think this is the type of place I'd want to travel too far for. Compared to other outlets I've been to, there isn't as much variety (for those not looking for Gucci-priced stores). That being said, there are definitely some places to visit, and some not to. Calvin Klein (the worst) - Don't bother. They literally mark their items up (higher than they sell for in normal retail stores), then say the entire store is 30% off. You're saving 10%, max. That type of business ethic doesn't fly with me. Banana Republic (the best) - Spend a lot of time here. I refuse to return to a non-outlet store after going here. I leave spending at least $50 every time. Whether it's clothing or jewelry, there's always a good sale and well-priced items, that sincerely make you feel like you're at an outlet. Other best deal spots include Coach, New York & Company, and the majority of the kids shops. I am sure that the very high-end stores have great deals to those that shop that way, but $300 for a pair of jeans that used to be $1,000 is not appealing to me :) PARKING & DRIVING - enter off Bilter Road and park near Nike. Some good bargains this Memorial Day weekend sale. Aside from clothing and accessory stores, a host of cooking supply and home furnishing stores. Visit their online website, join their VIP club (free) and print out a coupon for their free coupon booklet when you visit their information center (don't make the mistake of having to pay for it, since you might not even use the coupons). After signing in online w/ your VIP login, you can also print current coupon offers off their website. Just don't mention that this mall seems to be in the middle of nowhere, the locals get somewhat sensitive. Eat before you shop because the dining options seem to be slim pickins; If you want to drive off to eat and come back you'll be paying the tollway again. Update: 3 bumped to 5 stars; This is pretty much the only place I'll shop now. Recently picked up a fabulous 32% off deal on a 3.5 qt Le Creuset round French oven, as well as a pair of new Italian-made Kenneth Cole boots at 80% off... YEEEAAAHHH!!! Timberland fleece at 67% off!!! Lindt chocolates for $3.49/lb and candy bars for $1ea (the white chocolate coconut bars are addictive and reminiscent of Thai coconut ice cream. There's always a 20% off item for the 2 kitchen supply stores; I leave with a nice kitchen gadget/tool after every visit, be it a food scale, oyster knife, etc. (I'm eyeing the avocado slicer, pineapple corer/slicer and the julienne tool for my next visits). read more

Avoid on the weekends. If this is the only available time for you to make your trek out here, you have one option: either arrive prior to opening or near closing times. Parking here is awful. Despite a mass of land surrounding the mall, they have yet to expand and pave way for additional parking. Every time I've passed this mall on the weekends, there are hundreds of cars parked along the curb and in the fields, with two individuals directing traffic. I got lucky on Sunday afternoon. It took me less than 5 minutes to park. The mall itself was still very busy. The small boutiques like Juicy, Cosmetics Co., Kate Spade, etc. can be difficult to shop, especially if you are carrying bags, because they are small store spaces and there are shoppers packed wall to wall. When it isn't madness, there are some really valuable stores here. My favorites include Armani Exchange, Swarovski, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade, Cosmetics Company Outlet, and Calvin Klein. There is also a Nike and Adidas outlet for you sportos. Lucky, True Religion, Cacique and Coach are also popular. There is also a number of regular retailers, which are not outlets: Dress Barn, Claire's, Aeropostale, etc. I like this mall, but be prepared to spend some mad money. Some of the deals are hard to pass up, while other times it seems like there's hardly a discount on anything. read more

How to review an outlet mall? This one has plenty of stores, including Banana Republic and Gap, which are the main ones I like to check out. All the major kids clothing stores are there, as well...Baby Gap, Children's Place, Gymboree, Carters. There is also a Motherhood Maternity store, which is less common to find. The bathrooms could use some remodeling, since they're cramped and maybe a little bit sleezy. The food court is on the low end of mediocre, but who eats there, anyway? Plenty of good food choices just a short drive away from the outlets. Aside from the central food court, there are some chain food establishments, such as Starbucks and Auntie Anne's randomly interspersed with the stores. The oulets, like any outlets I can imagine, are sometimes very busy and sometimes a lot like a ghost town. I prefer somewhere in between, and appreciate if I can avoid shopping on major holiday weekends when people try to get out for all the good deals. read more

Just checked out the Victoria Secret here and it's not a full outlet store like at Great Lakes Michigan it's only partially discounted. The one at Great Lakes you won't find anything over 25$ in its VS outlet which is what I loved about the Michigan one. This one only has a small section of discounted VS stuff, but the girl Lesley was so great at helping me find everything in there at the pink store. She's great at her job that's for sure! read more

This is probably one of the better premium outlets in the area. It's outdoor so be careful in the winter. It also gets packed at the weekend and Black Friday is madness. For some reason the Coach store has a line most days?! Beats me. Parking is therefore troublesome at times where you randomly park places and even then there might not be enough. It takes a while but you'll find one eventually. You can sign up and get the coupon booklet but you're not likely to spend that much to use many of them unless you are a tourist on a spree. They have a good selection of shops ranging from the nicer ones like Salvatore Ferragamo, Armani, etc. to Reebok and shoe depot or whatever it's called. The layout of this premium outlets makes it easier on the feet as it feels more compact despite having many stores. read more

No social distance no mask enforcement, we Will not return. Have come to the outlets twice and both experiences the same. There is no social distancing at all. There are lines to limit the number of people in stores but the lines are not social distancing and no one there to enforce it. There were people not wearing their masks and there was no one to enforce wearing masks. It's great to have signs but unless it's enforced it's pointless for people who do not care to adhere to cdc recommendations. Don't risk it, it's not worth it, there are no good sales. read more

Sometimes you can snag a deal, sometimes it's not worth it. Depends on when you go. Like going on a weekend is a no-no, unless you're okay with circling around looking for parking (knowing this, I've still gone on the weekend before lol). I've also been to 2-3 Black Fridays, and those were experiences that I'd like to never repeat ever again. I do like the easy square layout of the outlet and the fairly good selection of stores. I have a love/hate relationship with this outlet mall. Sometimes I think, "This is where I got my beautiful Michael Kors purse and favorite BCBG top and skirt!!." Other times I think, "Seriously? A line to just browse the Coach store?" First, parking really is a nightmare. One time I made the biggest mistake you could possibly make. Coming here on a Saturday afternoon. I thought it would be bad, but not as bad as the time I came for Black Friday (on that particular morning, there was a huge line ON 88 just to get into the exit lane). NOPE. Just as bad. I actually drove around and said, "If I don't get a regular, non-grassy spot, then I'm going home. It's not worth it." Some guy was nice enough to point out an open spot and I gave him a thumbs up. Way to go, random stranger! Second, the deals aren't always that great. Some stores are better than others. If you're not looking for something specific, then you'll probably leave very disappointed. Also, some of the stores are incredibly small. I recently walked into the BCBG store and realized I couldn't even look at all the products because there was a huge line for the fitting room in front of a wall of clothes. I immediately left. In the end, this mall requires a lot of patience and stamina. Also, I will NEVER wait in a 45 minute line to get a discounted Coach purse. It's not worth it. read more

I don't really do outlet shopping because I picture a big messy store...and I hate digging for clothes. So when I was told "let's visit the outlet mall"...I thought "why not". The mall's layout and parking is a bit odd, but we found parking. On a positive note....the stores were not a mess like I expected...they were actually organized. Yet I didn't feel like some were "outlet"...for example J.Crew looked just like a regular J.Crew and the prices were the same as J.Crew. For a cold January Saturday there sure were a lot of people, so I can guess that people love this mall. Some of the stores were insanely busy...like coach and many of the purse stores....but since I am not much of a purse person I can see why I didn't have as much fun. You will need to devote your entire day to this adventure. It's a hit or miss process. You will have to sift through boring, last years models, limited selections, and then suddenly you will find your bargain DKNY jeans for $29.99. You must stay on your toes. There will be confusing signs- they implicate that things are 50% off- but look closer and you will see that it is buy one and get the second for 50% off. (pet peeve) Again- be vigilant and you will find last seasons Michael Kors dress for $30. If you have the time to search, you will find some hidden gems. . A friend tells me that Le Creuset has incredible bargains -I missed that store : ( But honestly I found much better bargains at the end of season sales at Nordstrom and Carson's. Parking is the biggest problem at this mall. They have the typical stores along with a few higher end stores like Juicy, BCBG, and one of my favs, Aldo. The line at the Coach store is always out the door with a long line no matter when I go. So if you're going there to go to Coach, be prepared to stand in line. The food court isn't anything exciting, it's just a food court. But they do have a Starbucks which is great year round. read more

I have only been to this outlet mall a few times. The only complaint I have is the parking. It took us over 20 minutes the first time and about 10 minutes thickest time. It is a great mall if you can find a parking spot. There are a variety of stores, food court, Starbucks, etc. It's perfect if you have time to kill and love a great deal! Love this place, but only because it has coach factory and I am a huge coach addict. It's a pretty good place to shop at on holidays like "black friday". but it becomes very crowded. It's an outlet mall so yes you get discounts but don't be looking for 50-75% discounts you'll probably save between 20%-40% depending on the day. The store choice is kind of limited so if you are commuting from far away I would look into which stores you'd want to shop at. Ok, I am a bargain shopper, frugal - not cheap. I am used to true outlets like they have in CT. I was unable to find any bargains here. The coach purses were the same you would find at One State St. or at the Fox Valley mall, some were slightly mis-sewn, but the prices were in line with what I normally pay. The Versace store??? Well if you are going to regularly pay $700 for a t-shirt with a giant V on it, I guess $250 is a steal, but still - it is just a T shirt. I rather hit Goowill like I did and find a Versace track suit style top with the original tags from the outlet mall that some pampered wife bought, didn't wear and donated - did I mention I paid only $3.99? read more

I agree with many of the posters that this is not a "bargain" outlet and you will find a ton of "for outlet" merchandise instead of deeply discounted regular items. That being said, if you, like me, are trying to get baby clothing and don't have a ton of time to drive around to all the various stores, this is a great place since they are all in the same "wing" of the mall. You can hit Janie & Jack, Gymboree, Carter's, Osh Kosh and a bunch of others all in steps of each other. And, Janie and Jack is pricey, even here, but you can get a $70 dress for about $20, which is a bit easier to take. The Gymboree stuff is very "for the outlet", but cute - and very cheap. When they will only wear it a few times, it is worth the haul and parking disaster. read more

FYI, Chicago Premium Outlets are not in Chicago. In fact, it's probably about an hour's drive from Chicago. But I digress... This mall has a nice selection of stores - from higher end like Coach and BCBG to J. Crew and Eddie Bauer. It's not too spread out, unlike some outdoor malls, so you can park and walk to all the stores. My only complaint is that some of the stores aren't really outlets, and it seems like it's not leftovers/discounted merch, but just a regular store. The J. Crew is an example - the looks are current, which I'm not complaining about, but so are the prices.
