My party of 4 had dinner on a weekday evening. Service was really good but the food was just okay. My steak was overcooked but had good flavor. The crab cake had too much breading for our liking. One of the guests was celebrating a birthday and they charged us a small fee for the birthday dessert that the server offered. That was strange lol! First of all the service was great. They were however, very adamant about not arriving early to your reservation so don't arrive 5 minutes early with a hope of getting seated early. I wanted Prime Rib but not available so we thought braised ribs and that was not available either so we went seafood. Scallops were excellent. I was divided on the sauces. The ginger sauce was too tangy for me but the ancho chile was spot on. The jumbo shrimp cocktail were amazing. Fresh and juicy. We had salmon on top of a risotto that melted in your mouth and the flavor was delicious. Side veggies also good. Seasoned well. The onion soup was a little salty but I loved it. The steakhouse soup not my fave. Lacked flavor and too creamy. I then tried the bacon steaks which I thought presentation was perfect. 3 out of the 4 were amazing. The other one was not my choice. Then we tried the seafood pasta with andouille sausage. Also amazing. Side mushrooms rocked. Lots of flavor and juicy. I gave a 4 because of the few items that fell short. Plus I felt the scolding for being early and asking to be seated could have been handled a little better. Our server Raymond. I can't say enough. His service was attentive. As a long time server i am appalled at the lack of service. Our waiter Treveon came to take our order and stood there while we were looking at the menu, I finally told him that we needed a minute. He comes back and I order a class of wine and he takes our order. I notice several of his other tables complaining about his service. Another staff member brought us our food. At least from what I've tried. We started with the Champagne. Honestly, it was solid, but I'm not overly critical of champagne. The wedge salad was good. It was enough for two people honestly. Let's talk about what everyone is dying to know. How was the MEAT?! Well... I ordered the pork chop. Listen, perfect temperature. Too often you order a pork chop medium and it comes out like rubber. After a nice win at the Goldstrike Casino we decided to try Chicago on the casino's dime. The restaurant was elegant and had tasteful decor. Casual jazz music in the background provided a bluesy vibe. The wait staff was on point and we were well taken care of. We had the filet, which was cooked to perfection. A lobster appetizer, caesar salad, and potato, which were all a` la carte purchases. The only thing that tried to spoil the evening was a rude lady that literally tried to push me aside and run over my service animal, because she felt entitled and could not get her way. I have to actually thank her however, because her actions got us immediate seating at a much better than average table. This place was quite good before the big renovation in early 2014, but since then they have found a way to keep getting even be bette, it is simply outstanding. Here's some of the dishes that I have had, many more than once. The Ox Tail Arancini with truffle mornay, pea greens, lemon zest, sliced truffles, Shrimp Cocktail Jumbo shrimp over summer vegetable relish w/ spicy cocktail sauce, Crab Cakes Seared jumbo lump crab, leek & shitake salad, sweet corn jus, Lobster Bisque with cognac, heavy cream, cilantro oil & maine lobster, Chopped Salad, Tomato & Mozzarella Salad & The Wedge. All these are starters & I can vouche for every one of these as being spot on. For entrees I like the Miso Marinated Black Cod with soy burre blanc, the King Crab legs & Maine lobster and my absolute favorite which is the exquisite 24 oz Bone in Ribeye Steak, in my opinion the finest steak I have ever had, including some amazing choices from Omaha and Texas that I had been delighted to put on my list plod personal favorites. It's seriously that crazy good. They have other choices like burgers, lamb chops, veal, chicken, pasta and more but the faves I mentioned are delightful even though they have never disappointed me with anything they've put in a bowl or on a plate. The service here is impeccable, period. From the maitre'd, who is a super professional to every one of the servers they're all great. The rooms, the settings & the whole atmosphere is relaxing & comfortable. Bottom line: I believe this to be one of the very finest eateries in all of the mid-south region. Girls trip to Tunica to celebrate our friend getting her Masters so we planned a celebratory dinner! The restaurant is beautiful with dimmed lighting, smallish bar area, and sophisticated atmosphere. I started with the Crustacean Cocktail. Refreshing with a spicy but subtle kick, however I was disappointed I did not receive the Cumin Crisp that according to the description I was supposed to receive with my app. The waiter did not mention why it was not included and I didn't think about it until half way through it when I expressed to my gals the app needed a crispy element to marry with the soft textures....oh yeah, where's the Crisp. Two of us ordered the Onion Soup, which had a depth of beefy flavor, onion, and gooey cheese. I personally chose the porterhouse with wild mushrooms, while our graduate had the fillet and twice baked potato, and our other gal pal had the pan seared chicken. My porterhouse was medium rare as requested but again some of the small accoutrements for the steaks were left off. If the description includes them why leave them off? My friend missed her crispy onion straws. The only true food misstep was the twice baked potato. It was dry instead of creamy, very disappointing. The service was good but harried, so maybe they were short staffed, but overall a good meal and we were stuffed. For the price point, we would have preferred a great meal, but perhaps it was just an off night read more
