We had a 1:30 reservation and were seated promptly, then waited. By 2pm, we still hadn't been greeted or offered water. When I asked the hostess if we'd been assigned a server, she confirmed we had. He brought water ten minutes later, then disappeared again for another 15. We ordered everything at once, drinks, appetizers, entrees, out of fear he wouldn't return. Food arrived slowly and out of order. By then we were 90 minutes into our reservation and had already paid for two hours of parking. One friend's wings came out well before her side salad. Two others' fish dishes arrived cold and had to be sent back to be microwaved. Our apps hadn't arrived by the time our food came so we just cancelled the order. Everyone agreed the seasoning and flavors were excellent, but the long waits, inattentive service, and temperature issues overshadowed the meal. At these prices, with an automatic 20% gratuity, my friend joked "maybe we should've just ordered online." It landed, because that's really what it felt like. I won't be recommending Mahogany Memphis for now, but I genuinely hope they turn things around. The food deserves service that matches it.

We immediately got a seat and were able to get our food no problem! The restaurant was very busy and people really seemed to be enjoying coming. They do have a "wall of shame" when you first come in with people that have left the restaurant without paying for their food. I have never seen this before and find it interesting they screenshot their security cameras and print off photos of people to put on the wall! I hate they have had so many people leave without paying...just wanted to mention it since it was a shock to me the first time! The restrooms are very dark and not super clean. He is an asian man and always there on Sundays. Twice we challenged him on our total because it seemed high. When we got our phone to do the math, he immediately lowered it by 10%. On the receipt during our last visit, he first said it was $53.74. After the challenge, he lowered it to $49.22. The receipt read total of $53.74 if tip of $4.52 offered. This has happened twice, that we know of. Be careful when you order take-out. We should be allowed to see the weight of the food. Deceptive business practices seem to be occuring here. That 10% tip could greatly add up. Who leaves a tip for take-out?
