This was my guests and I 1st visit. I'll start with we were promptly seated by the host. This is not fine dining although it appeared to be, this is my opinion based on restaurant and travel experiences. Our waiter, Max, Mac (???) was 18 and therefore could not help with any adult beverage recommendations. Ordered the Butchers Bacon Rack (similar to Porch &Parlor but NOT), when asked, he could not tell us the difference in flavors, not a good experience to even know which we liked or did not. Perhaps this is a learning opportunity/retraining for the restaurant. He was not knowledgeable of the many things. It offers 1st job or owner's son type of job. The entree's were basic at best, the 20% gratuity for the service received did not align and restaurants do that on purpose. There isn't an incentive for waitstaff to offer above and beyond experiences. I had the Crab Stuffed Shrimp, I cannot recall anything memorable (see photo). One of the guest had Fried Green Tomatoes, those were yummy and the Calamari was tasty. The saxophonist was AMAZING, he brings a great background atmosphere unexpected than the food. Listening to him along with appetizers would have been enough for us!! That said, visit at your own risk. For me and my guests we will not be returning. read more

Amazing! That really describes our experience. We made a reservation and didn't have to wait. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He helped with the menu, but I knew once I saw "Halibut" I was sold and oh my gosh, I am so glad I got it! The best halibut I've had in a long time. The lamb chops my husband got were so delicious. That blueberry balsamic drizzle, just topped it off. The kids menu is typical, but I'm glad they offered it. The place reminds me of a Long Horn Steakhouse. So was the price worth it all... possibly. I love when restaurants give you a great experience with great food to match. This is definitely a nice date night experience. Not a typical family dinner night. read more

First time customer and also last time customer.... I was very disappointed by the crab cakes. They came out looking like burnt hamburgers. The fried mozzarella was the only good thing we had. Just an ok place for a steakhouse, nothing upscale as advertised. I don't know if I went on the wrong night but it wasn't my type of crowd. Sweatsuits and gaudy clothes from the patrons took away from the ambiance. We had the bacon rack to start; it could have used some more time cooking because it was soft and chewy. The food is beyond average. It was significantly better when it was called The Grillhouse Steak & Seafood! Our bill for two, including 2 drinks, an appetizer, and 2 entrees, was $240 with gratuity included. Unfortunately, it did not justify the cost. Please note that I do not mind investing my hard-earned money in exceptional cuisine, but mediocrity is unacceptable. I will award them 3 stars for service and 2 stars for the ambiance. The bacon rack all taste the same all of the sides were over cooked. Asked for a cocktail menu was provided a brunch menu. Quick review: I would eat here again. Now to the details. The atmosphere is really nice. It is dark but manageable. The wait staff I have no complaints. Perfect 10/10. We had reservations for 2 at 530- so not a super busy time. Food came out really quick. I ordered a lemon martini that was nice. The husband ordered a neat bourbon. Oysters chargrilled- would not order again and once of the reasons not 5 stars. We ordered half a dozen and two weren't really cooked all the way and just lacked any other flavor. Wedge salads 10/10 Rolls 10/10 Both ordered ribeyes- they are a little thin for my preference but cooked decent. 7/10. Real heavy handed on the pepper but overall liked the taste. This was my first time at Ember and Oak Prime, I went around 4:30ish and was able to eat my meal on the patio. I do recommend you make a reservation but it was just me so I was okay with the patio view. My waitress Bailey was very friendly and helpful. She gave me her top picks of what she loved on the menu and I ordered accordingly. The first thing I had was a tequila sunrise mocktail. Very summery and fruity. The bread was amazing, I received two pieces of fresh warm bread with the option of honey butter or strawberry butter. I had both just to try them out. My favorite was the honey butter, I ate the bread so fast and wanted to eat the butter with a spoon. For my main course I had the Atlantic salmon with Mac and cheese, broccolini and fried green tomatoes. Everything was 10/10 the only thing was the card machine was down and I had to wait longer to check out but eventually I went to the bank to get cash to pay my bill. read more

Came here for the first time last night. We shared the appetizers. Mac and cheese, Fried shrimp and Calamari. Nice portions and very tasty. We had the Elijah Craig old fashioned's. I was very impressed. They use an oak barrel to age the pre-made cocktail. It gave it so much flavor, added body and profile to the nose and palate. I highly recommend it. My wife and I both enjoyed our steaks here. They were perfectly cooked and wonderfully tender and flavorful. She had a small fillet and I had a ribeye. The only issues I had, but they are not enough to keep me from going back, was that the blue cheese vinaigrette was way too vinegary, and the sautéed broccolini/rapini I got with my steak was really overcooked. Instead of being a nice bright green color and crunchy texture, they were yellowish green and mushy. I know next time not to order either of these things, but we still would go back and we enjoyed our experience. Well, it's my birthday and I wanted to try something different. On a loose Wednesday night I chose Ember and Oak Prime for my dinner destination. The ambiance was pleasing to the eye. First red flag was the waiter immediately switched out my glasses upon coming to the table. He saw the nasty before I could say anything. Next I ask for recommendations on the seafood entrees. I'm pitched the Halibut as the best and salmon second. I choose the Halibut. Bread comes to the table like warm and super sweet with butter like a brick. Hard pass. Next we asked for Caesar side salads. It tasted terrible like it had Italian dressing all over it. The lettuce appeared old. It was a hard pass. Then noticed the table next to us did the same. Straight trash at this point waiting on strike 3 to walk out the door. Then the waiter came back to the table to state Halibut is not available and hasn't been for weeks? I'm completely puzzled! Okay, let's try the salmon. My mood is absolutely shot at this point. Just building material for this review at this point. The salmon comes out with macaroni and cheese and grilled broccoli. The asparagus was out also when I asked for it. Now I'm ready to see an under cooked salmon. The chef must have felt my negative energy by now. The salmon looks good and is hot. Taste amazing. I'm calming down. The broccoli was good hot and flavorful. Trying to redeem themselves. The macaroni and cheese was horrible. The top was warm. The more I ate the colder it became. I got a bill of $101 dollars with a 20% gratuity came out to $130. Not worth that at all. So since I have no control over the price, I would let you guys know to be cautious about trying this place. The staff was lack luster on 01/14/26 and the food was below average. I will not give them a second chance. You guys do what you like. read more

We ordered cocktails, they brought 2 of what my wife ordered but not mine. Hers was not drinkable. I did get my drink about 15 minutes later. We ordered an appetizer which was good, but we had just gotten it when our salads came and then in 5 minutes our entrees came. Our wait person did not bring out the entrees and we did not see them again for over 30 minutes. My wife's meal was cooked and served well. I ordered the filet medium and lobster steamed. I got a rare steak and grilled lobster and no side. No one came to the table to check on things until we were done which is the first time any dishes that were covering the table were removed. My wife and I had a marvelous anniversary dinner last night! Brandon, our server, did a great job taking care of us. We are early diners so we arrived at 4:45 pm while the traffic was light. Out appetizer was their Boom Boom shrimps, flash fried and covered with an outstanding sauce - not too spicy - just right. We shared the 14oz. N. y. Strip (hand cut by the chef), and cooked perfectly to med. rare. Scarlet salad (half size is perfect) and the Wedge salad (half sized). The yeast roll bread was hot and delicious with the strawberry and the honey butters. The loaded baked potato fed us both. We finished with pecan pie and ice cream which was superb too. As a traveling professional salesman with about 14,000 hotel night stay I have eating in every area of our nation. I "Highly" recommend this restaurant. The only thing I would change would be to have soft instrumental music instead of the country music - a bit more befitting to the beautiful experience for about $100 (before tip.)See my pics. read more

We wanted to try Ember and Oak for a while and decided to go last Sunday. We opted to sit at the bar because My experience has mostly been better and more responsive service when at the bar. We sat down and were greeted promptly by the bar tender and that is where it started to fall apart, after a few minutes she asked us what we would like to drink, when we asked for certain bourbon prices, she was unaware and needed to ask someone, then we ordered our drinks, I had to ask for my drink as she was clearly overloaded with other bar patrons. We eventually ordered our food, 2 orders of chargrilled oysters, shrimp and grits and the bacon rack. The shrimp and grits came out as well as 2 sides that My wife was not asked to choose, no oysters for the other two of us, then the bacon rack came out and I had to ask for small plates in order to eat the bacon. Finally, the oysters came out and we were very disappointed, no flavor, typically chargrilled oysters have garlic, butter and parmesan cheese, these had breadcrumbs very bland. Whoever brought me my order after an hour of sitting with a screaming baby said he was the manager but gave me a name that does not match what the wall and menu say is the managers name. So, they sent a fake manager out to talk to us. #5 fake manager bill was the RUDEST person. Kept telling me if I felt that way then fine. I was entitled to feel however. What manager comes out with anything but an apology after an hour?! Didn't offer a free dessert, a comped something, nothing. Just said if you feel that way fine PS The food is not worth the price. $66 for a 6 oz steak that tastes like outback. read more
