I stopped in for lunch recently and remembered why it's so popular. The lunch rush was in full swing, and some of their grills were down, so it was a bit of a wait but we weren't in a huge rush. The employees were very apologetic about the wait. The menu is still huge and very overwhelming, but for this visit, I just decided what type of sandwich I wanted (turkey, ham, roast beef, corned beef, pastrami, chicken, sausage, vegetarian, vegan, or salad) and I knew I wanted it grilled. From there I mostly looked at the starred favorite options and went with the #35 Hulihee: Corned beef, pastrami, cheddar, caramelized onions, roasted tomato, garlic mayo on white or wheat. Most of the sandwiches come in half or whole sizes - the half is just a smaller version. For an extra $2 I went with the whole. The menu also includes soup options and salads. They'll give you a table number if you're dining in and then bring your order out to you. The sandwich was toasted and hot, and had a generous amount of meat. I didn't notice all of the other ingredients (I don't think I had any tomato? And didn't really taste a lot of cheddar), but it was saucy and tasty. There are literally more than 100 sandwich options on the Two Beards Deli menu, ranging from turkey to chicken to ham to roast beef to sausage to pastrami to vegetarian to vegan to salad sandwiches. And within those categories, there are grilled sandwiches and cold sandwiches. Then there are salad bowls, soup, potato salad, pasta salad and desserts. There are a lotta options to choose from! I suggest just going with the first thing that sounds good. Just close your eyes and point a finger at the menu. I kind of did that, and landed on The Old Dutch, which is a grilled turkey sandwich with smoked gouda, roasted red peppers, red onion, roasted garlic tomato mayo on wheat bread. It was very tasty! I love a good grilled sandwich, and this one was melty and gooey in all the right ways. You can get a full sandwich or a half, but be aware that both sandwiches are the same size. The half sandwich just has a regular amount of stuff in it, and the full has double. The half sandwich was more than enough for me for lunch! I almost wish they offered a half-of-a-half. I also grabbed a bag of local chips: Michigan cherry barbecue from Grand Lake Potato Chip Co. All of the sandwiches have fun names, and most of them are named after people who have beards or facial hair. (My favorite is the Frida Kahlo, a roast beef sandwich). We also ordered the Randy Savage, a turkey, ham and bacon sandwich; and two sandwiches off of the kids' menu. Kids sandwiches are only $4, which is a steal! They're pretty basic -- just meat and cheese, or grilled cheese, or pb&j -- but most kids like basic, anyway. Two Beards Deli has instructions for ordering on the wall, so that you don't hold up the line. The instructions are kind of intuitive if you're a self-aware person, but I imagine they get a lot of people coming up to the register not knowing what they want. The instructions are: Grab a menu, which are located near the entrance or at the counter. Then, when you've decided, go up to the counter and order. I did just that, and ordering was easy. I love love love two beards! The sandwiches are always fantastic and service is always friendly. While parking down town is a head ache, I try to come here for a bite on a regular basis. With salad or vegan options, I think anyone can find something thy like here. The sandwich sizes are very large and I think the pricing is fair for the sizes. If you don't know what you want, you can always ask the people working and they will give you a recommendation. I've done that twice now. I have never dined in at two beards, but the space seems clean. It's just a bit loud and echoey when there's a lot of people inside. read more

This place is amazing- I order for our office at least once a month for about 20 people. Orders are never wrong for that many people!!! Staff are all polite and friendly too. Sandwiches are super big and taste amazing. You can customize any sandwich and have it grilled or cold. There is also enough seating if you want to sit and enjoy your meal. Also, it was really disappointing bc it seems as though the amount of meat/filling has notably decreased. It's such a cool business and I don't like to report negatives -but it was already a bit pricey so we didn't visit often -now, sadly, we probably won't return. I've been wanting to try two beards for a long time and finally made it in. I got the Fred Sanford which is a fan favorite according to the menu and I can see why. It's a giant sandwich with super yummy and fresh ingredients. It was pretty packed but we were able to find a table. Food took a little while but everything is made fresh so it's to be expected. Walked in on a Thursday afternoon to a very friendly worker. We ordered a sandwich to share and dined in. I was thrilled that they had a variety of hot sauces to try out near the fountain drink machine. I added to my sandwich to give a little kick! The vibe is very welcoming. The super cool staff is helpful with suggestions and popular picks. One that never fails is the Fred Sanford. It's packed with a generous portion of chicken and yumminess. I came here to order takeout on a Saturday around lunchtime, and it was pretty busy. I think I waited at least 20 minutes but it was worth it! There is a fair amount of tables for dining in. I'm almost a bit too overwhelmed by how many sandwich options they have; there were multiple good options, but I found myself wanting to make substitutions/additions to most of the options. I ordered the #59 chicken salad but asked for sourdough bread instead of white/wheat, and I added romaine lettuce. I loved everything else that was on the chicken salad sandwich, and it was a bit "non traditional" from how I know chicken salad, but I actually really preferred it this way. My friend got the #57 egg salad which had a nice dill flavor to it but no overpowering flavors or smells. The sandwiches were packed with a lot of salad in each one! I'm glad I got the sourdough bread for more stability in the sandwich. I'd like to try a turkey or roast beef sandwich next time, and maybe one of the soups! read more

Dined here after spending some time at the John Ball Zoo, which was awesome, and won't be back. The area itself was fine, but it was all street metered parking which was annoying but it's a downtown area so I get it. The food was meh. My sandwich was bland. I ordered The Randy Savage with a pickle spear and drink and my husband got The Winnfield with chips and a drink. I make better sandwiches at home. They served it on regular sliced bread which is fine but it tasted like cheap bread. The meat didn't taste like anything special. It tasted like the prepackaged crap I buy at Meijer. Overall it was not anything special but not horrible either. The reason it gets a two and not a three is the pricing. It was $57.48 with tip. Highway robbery if you ask me. I'm down for paying more money for a good meal but not some cheap crap I'd get at the airport in between connections. This place also does that stupid thing where they ask for tips but you get your own drink, clean up after yourself, and order at the counter. They do give you a number and bring it to your table though, like Carl's Jr. or Culver's. Took a surprisingly long amount of time to get our food too. read more

I really can't say enough good things about Two Beards. There is not a single person in the world who can't come here and have a life changing sandwich. Vegetarian/Vegan? These guys bend tofu to their will and create insane flavors. Gluten Free? They got wraps for ya. Don't like sandwiches? Two Beards will surely prove you wrong. It's honestly nicer to have some sort of allergy/food restriction when you come here, because if you don't, you're greeted by an onslaught of over 100 different sandwiches, each of which is just BEGGING to be enjoyed. Cute area of downtown and walkable- deli is a hot spot for the lunch crowd. We tried a variety of paninis, kettle Chips and beverages. There's a HUGE list of sandwich choices, so you'll find something to You're liking. There's a Pepsi soda fountain but an open cooler filled with other beverages, Coke products, carbonated waters, etc. The wait was average as was the ambience but the sandwiches were delicious.
