My daughter was only 29 and I made a couple of appointments and never showed up I honestly thought I had more time but I didn't. I received your call on December 29 that my daughter was about to be incubated at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago and at that moment I packed a bag and drove to Chicago and stayed until her passing on April 13, 2026 after Brittany was treated at Northwestern and rarely there was nothing more that could be done she had encephalitis and lymphoma cancer so for four months she fought a hard long battle . My daughter was transferred to Kindred North Hospital investigation, and only lasted a a few days there before she passed and when the time did come I contacted Doug originally and he said just call us when it happens and we'll pick her up and we'll deal with the money and everything later.. actually I couldn't call, but my cousin did make the phone call and then later after she passed, I was able to go online and complete all the pertinent information but he was very professional and when I did pick up the Urns he made it a priority to come out and meet me and offer his condolences very professional service. The only complaint I had was the lady who took care of us seemed a bit cold, but I guess in that type of business you become cold well perhaps that happened to her she didn't offer condolences nothing just let's get this business over with. If I asked a question she didn't know she didn't even try to find answer.I Again I am horrible with names, but this young lady was very compassionate and helpful I was unsure if I was going to be able to drive back to Tennessee or have to fly and she provided me with a free box to ship the urn. irregardless if I ever had to use them again, I would. I live in Tennessee so it's not going to happen, but that was my only daughter who died at age 29. Doug, appreciate your outstanding service and your personal effect on your company. Death is a fact of life. It comes to us all, and people really don't get a lot of direction before a loved one dies, as to what to do. My Mom was in hospice. I got a list of cremation options (her wish) and called the first one, which happened to be Chicagoland Cremation Options. I spoke to Doug, and he was just the nicest man. I didn't even call anyone else on the list, just went with Doug and CCO. He covers everything - death certificates, cremation, type of urn to be buried. When Mom sadly died a week later, he handled all the things. I was so comforted to find a place that really knows their business, and handles everything empathetically and competently. It was fine. They picked up my father from his nursing home quite a few hours after he died, but they wanted to charge me extra for rush pickup. I'm sure it was just a wee clerical mistake. I went to their facility to pick up his ashes. It's probably better if you ask them to mail or ship them to you, as their facility is untidy, in a peculiar, downmarket industrial park, and seems unusually disorganized for a business. I had to wait quite a bit, even though I had an appointment. The reason for four stars is that the people there were very nice, and assuming those are my dad's ashes in the box, they did a fine job of cremating him. read more

Our mother's passing was sudden and unexpected. We knew she wanted to be cremated, so we reached out to Chicagoland Cremation Options. The office staff were wonderful, compassionate, and empathetic. Not knowing anything about cremation, they made the process easy. Unfortunately, the lack of compassion and empathy from the owner, Doug, and his sister made it even more painful. When our mother's remains were to be picked up from the hospital, we asked if a picture of her could be taken for the family before her cremation. We were assured this request would be honored. After our mother was brought to the crematorium, we reached out to Doug to confirm the picture would be taken, only to be met with rudeness and skepticism. Utterly unacceptable. He questioned whether we really wanted a picture, to which we responded, "Yes," we did. Doug continued to question my intent three or four times and stated that if we wanted to see our mother, we needed to come right now to the crematorium because her cremation was to take place later that day. The implication that we were being unreasonable for wanting to see our mothers one last time, or for wanting a picture of her, was hurtful and dismissive. I would have loved to have seen our mother in person one last time (as we were unable to see her in the hospital when she passed). I was at work and couldn't leave immediately but could be there in a couple of hours. This was not an option presented to me by Doug; I had to come now. Since I couldn't, I reiterated that I would like the picture of our mother. Our request for a photo was not just asking for a keepsake; we were asking for dignity in that moment. The picture that was sent was not only uncompassionate but disrespectful to my mother. I was taken from the foot, angled up towards her head. She was in a cardboard box shaped like a coffin (o.k., I can accept the box), lying on the floor next to what appeared to be dirty linen. She had an Ambu bag and intubation tube hanging from her mouth with the straps affixed to her face. They did not remove them before the picture was taken, making her face barely visible. The image of her in a cardboard box, with medical equipment still attached, is a stark reminder of the lack of dignity and respect that was shown in her final moments. The image of our mother, who was treated like garbage. It's not just about the picture; it's about the way our mother and I were regarded. I am not an emotional person, and I have the utmost respect for those who work with individuals after they pass on. However, no family should be made to feel like they are an imposition and have unrealistic requests, especially when your website offers family viewing of the cremation itself. A little more empathy and compassion, along with attention to detail, should have been considered. read more

Chicago Cremation Options @ 9329 Byron Street, Schiller Park got my family members body on 3/22. I went & paid for the cremation. They were supposed to call me the day they start the cremation. I never got the call, I called them on 4/5 to ask what's taking so long to do the cremation and they replied that they cremated her on 3/28 without notifying me. They never gave me the opportunity to say a final goodbye. At this point I don't know where my sister's body is or who's ashes they might have at this point. I still don't have a death certificate or ashes of the remains, nor will I know whose remains they might give me and why the whole process is taking more than a month and as of today I still have no remains or death certificate read more
