I stop here nearly every time I'm at the Birmingham airport. I think the food is always on par with normal, stand-alone Chick-Fil-A's and I've never had an issue with service. It's right at the corner of the American/Delta side of the airport. It's never too crowded. They just installed some mobile ordering kiosks -- which I do believe are the downfall of society, but make sense in this scenario. If I could give zero stars I would! The food is great! Nothing wrong with that. It's the employees! They act like you are imposing on them by even breathing. And I have finally found a location where the employees aren't happy & where they don't care if you are either! Do NOT expect a 'my pleasure' when you thank them. (Unless it's the manager. He was very nice when he handed me our food today.) The most you can expect to get out of the girl that took our order is an eye roll. I also heard the other girl filling the orders gripe because they have to ask the customer what kind of sauce they want. She said it would save THEM time if the customer got their own! Kind of surprised by the stars at this location. I've had good service and food every time I've eaten here. They have all the popular menu items. There are a few things that you can't get here. I like the egg white grill for breakfast and they don't have it at this location but there are plenty of other options for breakfast. Wow!! Terrible stupid service!!! 9:15 AM and people are wanting breakfast and these employees are telling us that the fillets are still cooking. I know that was a lie because no one was served for over 20 minutes!! There was a massive line , of course!!! I only wanted fries so my order was pretty straight forward. I did notice that their menu was not as expansive as their other locations. I'm sure it has a lot to do with being inside the airport. The service received didn't give me the warm and fuzzies AND they were out of ketchup. Likely the busiest restaurant in the airport after the closing of Jim N' Nicks, the morning crew have never let me down. Small airport location that us one of the few food options available at the Birmingham airport. Keep in mind this isn't like the other store front restaurants you will find all over town. Yes, same look and feel however not the full menu you may be accustomed to finding. Breakfast menu has about a half dozen items to choose between. Not sure what the lunch/dinner menu consists of, but I would guess very similar. Huge bonus to Chick-fil-A at the airport....price! The price is a little more than you will find at the traditional locations, but literally pennies difference in price. Staff was friendly and prompt. They had approximately 8 people in line and they got through them very quickly. Note it looks like they keep a good supply of food ready cooked under heat lamps if they are at busy times of the day, not my favorite way to get food, but if you're in rush you shouldn't have any wait. When is a Chick-Fil-A not a Chick-Fil-A? When it's located in the Bham-Shuttlesworth Int'l Airport... Let me start by saying I would not have gone to the trouble to post this review, should I think that it would be pointless. But, knowing the stellar reputation that this chain maintains, I couldn't sit idly by in good conscience. Something's gotta give. I travel quite often for travel for business in North America, and quite often arrive early enough for my gate and boarding group. Sometimes I grab a bite if I know I'll arrive too late on the other end and for fast food most especially, Chick-Fil-A ranks in the top 2 for me anywhere. And quite consistently, any Chick-Fil-A visit, any city/town/mall/etc. would be a quality, fast, enjoyable and courteous visit. Not so here. I know that the recent months of renovations to this franchise location in the airport had taken the restaurant offline for a bit (and my wife commented on how wonderful it was that there were ladies out front serving cups of coffee and cookies (for free!) as we walked by the boarded up renovation in progress. Very cool to do for those faithful to the Chick-Fil-A name, or, for anyone walking by! I couldn't wait for the "new and improved" restaurant to open!! Much to my disappointment, I feel it's only become worse. I know that if there's one truth about the services industry, it's this: bad food and great employees will generally keep customers coming back, if only to see if the product has improved. But even great food (and I'm not saying quality at this location is consistently great by any stretch - your mileage will definitely vary) and bad employees will be the end of an establishment. I don't know if it's the current management, difficulty hiring, depth of training, quality of applicant, or something in the water - but my last few visits were comical if not saddening. On the last, I arrived ~1:30pm, counted at least 15 travelers in line (believe me, I had time), 1 employee on registers, the other somewhere in the back, and then a 3rd not fully uniformed dragged in slowly at some point. Right before the end of my over 20-minute wait for my spicy chicken sandwich, I noted a walk-up from a (uniformed) airport employee, directly the counter. Mr. Late then walked from the back/grill to an unmanned front cashier location, hit some buttons, handed some food, and then walked back to the back again. I'm still unsure of what exactly happened, but this was extremely frustrating to watch from a customer standpoint. The food that day actually wasn't half-bad, BUT, the attitudes were abysmal - mumbling, slow, no eye contact - and, the usual "my pleasure" - while said - was said so far under the breath that was unintelligible. Wasn't very hard to determine that this really, truly wasn't their pleasure. Neither was my visit. I truly enjoy Chick-Fil-A, I really do - my entire family does. Let me go so far as to say that I'd rather see this Chick-Fil-A location close its doors and carry its business somewhere else if this doesn't change, than to see a good name and reputation tarnished and misrepresented. Since it is an airport location, their menu is not as expansive (e.g. no grilled nuggets)-- totally understandable~ If you choose to eat here, get a sandwich and avoid the nuggets! My box of 8-piece chicken nuggets revealed a sad spread of itty bitty chunks, no where as big as any other location I've visited. Two of them were literally fried pieces of breading that likely fell off of an actual nugget. They were dry, stringy, and not juicy at all. Sad day! I ended up buying more food elsewhere because the meal was so un-satisfying .-. Service was also not stellar.. Stopped here for dinner before a flight. The reviews almost scared me off, but I didn't have many other options. This location has a more limited menu, but I was able to get what I wanted. I got the combo of chicken nuggets with waffle fries and a lemonade. I also got a chocolate chip cookie. The wait wasn't bad. All of my food was as good as ever. A nice thing about this location is that I didn't notice the prices to be any higher than a regular Chickfila, despite being in the airport. Overall, I had no complaints really. read more

The woman who works here in the mornings is extremely rude first of all, and also unnecessarily mean... for my last few flights I've gotten breakfast here (not my choice, it is literally the only option in the mornings) and she has found something to yell at me for during every transaction. One time there was no ketchup in the condiment area, so I walked back up to the counter. Sheloudly barked "what now" at me, chastising me in front of a line of customers for politely asking for something she hasn't stocked herself or even noticed is empty. She's yelled at me about asking for a receipt, for asking questions, for ordering things she is out of.... It's absolutely insane and extremely unprofessional. It surprises me that Chick-fil-A is okay with this level of dismal customer service. My only guess is that since it is the only thing open her job is safe, but I can promise you I will never be spending money or time there ever again. read more

When is a Chick Fil A not a Chick Fil A? When it is located in an airport. The sign says it is, the receipt says it is. Look up Chick Fil A on your map function and it appears as such. I ordered food here but they would not honor the cash loaded on my app and would not honor my cow calendar offer. To add further insult, my biscuit appeared to have been assembled by a three-year-old or else an employee who failed their orientation. I've fly in and out of BHM a lot. Chik-fil-a is 93% of the time where I get breakfast in the morning whether I'm flying in or out. It's a nice last comfort of leaving the south and a great welcome home. The quality here is the same as the others--consistent and slathered in butter. How else would you prepare a biscuit? I have to nit pick and say that they don't serve tropicana OJ like the other stores. They have Florida's Best--which sucks. It's more of a streamlined menu. You can't get everything (like a milkshake or soft-serve) but you can get everything that's worth getting, i.e. the chicken biscuit & the spicy chicken samich. Why would your waste your taste buds on anything else? Service can be hit or miss. Early mornings it goes pretty fast due to lack of travelers, but when the airport is busy, the line can get backed up. read more
