This Chick-Fil-A in Hickory was near my hotel so where I stopped for dinner. The parking lot was confusing to navigate as one entrance was blocked and there wasn't a mobile lane. There was one stop just to get a receipt so that seemed unnecessary. Service was mostly friendly until I got my food. Both the bag and beverage were tipped as the woman was trying to hold two orders at once. This didn't seem to save any time and my order could have spilled. Great place to go! My co-workers and I go all the time for lunch and they are always packed - but fast and hot! The staff is usually nice and the place is always clean! The only downside is that the recent construction created LESS dine-in space, but that's nothing to complain about! I had a complaint one time about some workers smoking outside and the operator called me the very next day and told me that they were new hires as part of an outreach program to help those getting back on their feet. He told me that the issue was addressed and that they didn't know any better. Since then I haven't seen any smoking outside from any employees! This is the worst Chick-fil-A experience I've ever had. Was in the area for a drs appt. This is not my regular Chick-fil-A. Walked in and immediately noticed it was an older restaurant. Not a huge deal as long as it's clean but the floors were sticky and the tables were dirty. I placed a table side order and a few minutes later one of the employees asked me if I had the spicy southwest salad. He told me they couldn't customize the salad. I was confused because I ordered it the way it comes with chicken nuggets like I do anywhere else. He told me all the salads were pre made and they couldn't change it from grilled chicken? I've never been told this since it's always an option of which chicken you want on the salad....I asked him if that's just something at this location? He mumbled something I didn't understand. I told him just to bring it out the way it's made. A couple min later he brought a tray out and basically threw it in the table and said "enjoy" and walked off. We were missing all our drinks and milkshakes as well as the fries from one of the meals. I went up to the counter where I was ignored for several min. Two workers behind the counter looked at me and kept going about their business. I finally had to just yell out "excuse me" to them. Once you enter the line to order, the staff guides your every move while clearly communicating with their co-workers to ensure you get exactly what you want. The staff is made up largely of young folks, and each one that I've ever interacted with exhibited the utmost professionalism and courtesy. Amazing customer service!!!!! I've generally had good experience with customer service with Chik-Fil-a restaurants over the years, but what I saw today at this location absolutely warmed my heart! The staff set up a special sweetheart table with a tablecloth and bouquet of flowers and a sign for an elderly couple celebrating their 70th (!!!) wedding anniversary. You know, I love Chick Fil A. I have NEVER experienced this kind of disrespect at any restaurant. I placed an order through Door Dash because of all of this quarantine mess, I didn't want to leave my house. I paid for the Ofer and waited on it for over an hour. My dasher from Door Dash called me to let me know Chick Fil A never recurved my order. I check, and the money has already came out of my bank account. I tried calling this location and they wouldn't answer the phone. So I drive 20 minutes to Chick Fil A. When I get there they have me pull into a parking spot. The manager was a middle aged man with blonde hair. I forgot to get his name. He was very disrespectful! He walks up to my car and I explained the situation to him. I never told Chuck Fil A my last name, only my first. He said "yeah the order for Alexis T". To which I replied "yes". He said yeah there isn't anything we can do about it. That's not our problem, you need to contact Door Dash. I didn't have a problem with that. If they can't help, then I'll call Door Dash. However, then he comes back with "didn't you come through here last Saturday and try this?". Mind you this is my first time ever ordering Chick Fil A online and my first time ever using Door Dash. I always use Grub Hub, and will from now on. I said "I'm excuse me, I have never used Door Dash before and I have never ordered Chick Fil A online either. No that wasn't me." I went to Chick-fil-A in Hickory, NC today for lunch. I was really bummed when I found out that they no longer offer the regular Chicken Strips as a menu option. It seems that they have removed several items from their menu recently. Now the only Chicken Strips they offer are spicy ones. Unfortunately, not everyone likes or can eat spicy menu items. While I like spicy foods, I cannot eat them due to stomach issues. So now I cannot order Chicken Strips there. I don't eat bread so I don't want to order a sandwich and have to pay for and then throw away the bread Chicken Strips is beyond my comprehension. Come on Chick-fil-A!! This Chick-fil-A location is pretty much par for the course. The service is always fantastic at Chick-fil-A no matter where you go. This was the first Chick-fil-A in which I noticed free wifi. There was a time that you had to sign up with an email address to get the free wifi. I do not think that is still the case. If you are traveling on I-40 it is very easy to access this location. It is not right off the Interstate but it is less than two miles. There is one turn and the Chick-fil-A can be seen from the road. The food is Chick-fil-A food. You will get great sweet tea, a good chicken sandwich and waffle fries. If you have been to a Chick-fil-A you will know what to expect at this particular location. read more

I have loved stopping at a Chick-Fil-A in other cities, but this Hickory location has disappointed me for the last time. Mostly my bad experiences were in the drive through. Wrong beverage. Old sandwich. This most recent visit gave me a wrong, old sandwich. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese english muffin, but they gave me a hard, old bacon egg and cheese biscuit that was inedible. The other fast food places nearby do a much better job with quality and sometimes with service. I don't know what Hickory's problem is, but their Chick-Fil-A needs some serious help. My nieces and I were running around all morning, and they were hungry so we decided to stop by. It was my first time there, as I was visiting from out of state. Trying to find a parking space was horrible. Anyhow, the cashier was friendly and we did get our meals shortly after sitting down. As we were there enjoying our meals, a white, older lady by the name of Nicole was walking around asking customers if they wanted their drinks refilled. She did not even stop by our table and ask if we wanted our drinks refilled. I thought that was very rude and inconsiderate.
