On my recent trip out to NYC, I was staying nearby and came in here for a relatively cheap breakfast. It was located at E 42nd St and Madison Ave, across the street from the Grand Central Terminal. Prior to heading over to the restaurant, I placed my order on the mobile app for grilled breakfast filet x2, berry parfait with granola, Simply orange juice, and coffee. I've only been to chik fil a a handful of times in my entire life but they recently got me in the door with a promo game that they launched called Code Moo. Basically, the premise is that you save cows in the game by eating more chicken. you have missions where you try to find the cows on a map and save them (it's awful I know- I don't know who in corporate thought was a good idea. Why should we value cow lives over chicken lives? But I digress). In any case, you can earn rewards when you win in the game. I've been able to pick up two free items so far- waffle fries and the original chicken sandwich. Both times, the redemption process was easy. I just scanned a QR code on my phone and my order was ready in minutes. Whoever is training the employees here is doing a great job. The two times that I've been to this location, the cashiers have been nothing but pleasant and helpful in explaining how things work. The medium waffle fries that I got were good. I feel like I don't have many occasions to eat waffle fries since they're not served everywhere. They make a nice snack on their own or as a side with a meal. They weren't moderately crispy and tasted good. For me, their chicken sandwich doesn't rank among the too chain restaurant chicken sandwiches, but in terms of calories, it's probably one of the best at under 500 calories. Trade-offs I suppose lol. It does have a somewhat southern taste to it and also comes in a spicy version if you prefer more of a kick. They also gave me two free sauces with my order. I left happy. read more

They had quick line to order (one queue and then a lot of cashiers) - it'd almost be faster/easier to give numbers than try to put names, though. Calling them out in a busy pick-up area doesn't work well. The upstairs is seating, and crowded at that, so you share tables and you can get refills of your soda (but not tea?). Table was sticky - they need to come around to clean up more frequently as between people taking over tables is very short time (given the crowded nature). As I was approaching the Bryant Park train station, I saw a former vet who was down on their luck. I reached for my wallet- failing to realize I didn't have any change to give him. I explained not having change, but offered my breakfast sandwich. He was extremely appreciative of the gesture. Often we leave feedback about our experiences with establishments. Rarely ever do you see reviews about those who have helped others. I'd love to see this become more of a trend. Thanks to Chick-fil-A, a former vet was able to have a breakfast he wasn't expecting. Brand new location opened earlier this month. This location in midtown between Grand Central and Bryant Park. Can't believe this is the fourth location in the city; the third location in Midtown. It took a little time for the line to move since it's in the evening with 2 registers open and the patrons took a while to order. Once a third register opened, the line started to move quicker. This location only has 1 line and 1 mobile kiosk. The employee put in my order of frosted lemonade since I wanted something sour and sweet. It was quickly made and tasted delicious. It's a Chic-fil-A located across from Grand Central. If you don't know what to expect, let's state the obvious...you live under a rock, and have yet to experience legitimate chicken meals, a clean resturaunt, accomodating employees, and a good, square meal. With these standards upheld by every Chic-Fil-A I have ever visited, you'd expect this chicken lunch stop on the way to Yankee Stadium to be no different. But oh, it was. Nestled upstairs, in the back of the crowded dining area, was a table of employees on break. Noting wrong with that, other than the language that flowed from the mouth of the male who was holding court with the ladies, also on break. It made my curly fries curl, it made my lemonade pucker. Not what I would ever expect to hear- or expect my two sons to hear- in a chain that adheres to high standards. Not being from NYC, maybe this is how big cities roll. Maybe bucolic Lancaster PA has a different set of standards. While I might expect this in Times Square, it was not expected or appreciated. Definately an anomoly from all of my other Chic-Fil-A experiences. Food was good, prices were $2 per item more expensive than home, and the resturaunt was clean. Make sure to use your chick fil a app because when you scan, you can earn points. The points accumulate for your next reward. I think I each dollar spent is like 10 points and like 500 points gets you a chicken sandwich. When I finished ordering, my order was already ready because I left the counter. So A+ on fast service. Lady was nice and gave me two chick fil a sauce. I also got a free sandwich on the printed receipt once I take their survey. That is pretty awesome. Chicken sandwich was good, chicken strips were good too. I wish their food was a little hotter because it was just warm when I got back to my office. Why Chick-fil-A is very dear to my heart even though I disagree with almost everything that comes out of the company's CEO's mouth: 1. My first Chick-fil-A experience was at a law school event where I skeptically eyed the misshapen lump and thought to myself that a fried chicken biscuit couldn't possibly taste that good and yet look so ordinary. That was before I took my first bite and instantly wished I could cut the line to get another one. 2. After a very excruciating breakup, my cousin took me to the Chick-fil-A in the one shopping mall in Charlottesville. I was deep in the throes of self-pitying and ordered way too much food for two people. At some point, I looked up from my waffle fries and sweet tea, a changed woman. They say time heals all wounds but maybe it's just that sick feeling of too many waffle fries crowding out the heartache. Always eat the waffle fries first right out of the bag - they get all limp and gross if you let them sit. 3. The people behind the counter at this particular Chick-fil-A are the absolute nicest. I myself might not take too kindly to the midtown lunch crowd but the waitress was so nice, winking and slipping in extra packets of honey roasted BBQ (the best, I refuse to hear anything else). 4. The taste of a Chick-fil-A biscuit, after not having one after however many years have passed, is nostalgia wrapped in foil paper. Always get a side of the chicken nuggets, which beat the pants off of McDonald's. 5. The sausage, egg, and cheese, with a generous dollop of grape jam on the sausage side of the biscuit, is better than any bodega version. I love the waffle fries, somewhere between crispy and soggy. The shakes are surprisingly good. The simply orange flavor was one of my faves because it tasted like an orange creamsicle in a good way and not artificially flavored. They are thicker, have more flavor, and taste way better than what you get at shake shack or in-n-out burger. Their flavors rotate but they always have chocolate / vanilla. Upgrading to deluxe is worth it. Value - Average; $8-$11 for sandwich, fries, and a drink / shake. Service - Counter service but far from what you would expect from a place that is often referred to as a fast food restaurant. The staff is always friendly and smiling and usually reply with a "my pleasure" when requesting something. Atmosphere - Casual Facility - This location is a new facility so its really nice and clean. Even as it loses that newly remodeled feeling I am sure they will keep it clean like their other locations.
