I love coming to this Korean eatery, especially since you can earn points on purchases that can be redeemed for discounts and free products. You don't need to download an app, just sign up for their Rewards on their website or at the register before making a payment. This is the healthiest Korean meal I can find in Murray Hill, Manhattan. Some items are gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Good service from the eatery staff. The place wasn't busy during dinner hours. Just note, there are restrooms available for customers only. I love the comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The Gim-Bap (Korean Rolls) are delicious and healthy! On top of that, meals come in compostable fiber takeout bowls along with disposable utensils made of plastic, except for chopsticks made of wood. Been going to Koba for almost two years and I've always enjoyed their food but I noticed that their quality has gone down and their prices have gone up. Their bulgogi kimbap used to come generously rolled with beef and sold for $10. They recently raised their price to $12 and it comes with very little beef. Its more like a veggie kimbap now. I've ordered pick-up from another of their locations twice and from here once, and both locations seem to suffer from having too many orders coming in and not enough staff to be able to keep up in a timely manner. When I ordered online for pick-up from here, the expected time the order was to be ready was 12:40pm but when I arrived at 12:40pm, it was far from ready. They had orders from people ordering for delivery, in-store pick-up, and from people ordering in the store for take-out and dine-in. The staff was struggling to keep up with all the orders that they couldn't even take a few seconds to address the people waiting for their orders wondering how much longer it would be. No one was outright rude at all, but limited ability to communicate with customers. I was patient and my order wasn't ready until almost 1:00pm. The food is delicious and I love that there are many vegan options that can be included in the KOBA Bowls. I'm definitely pretty full when I get through my food. I'm just not sure how willing I am to have to wait next time I order. I guess just don't come here during peak hours when you're in a hurry. read more

They are looking for the most delicious and best deal. There are many options in this area, I feel this is the most expensive and not the most delicious. Upon entering, I was greeted by a friendly worker who helped me with the menu. I ordered the beef fried rice. I had to ask 2 times if it was coming. It took over 30 minutes. Customers who had entered after me received their food fl before me. I ordered the fried rice because l felt it would be the quickest. It was extremely salty. Large portion so I was able to take home Tommy husband who ate it for another meal. I would give this place another try, but certainly not running back, especially not for a $20 lunch read more

Staff were very attentive and helpful as soon as we entered the place. I liked using the tablets to order as I can take my time in going through the menu. If you dine in, they'll even bring your food to you. They were all served in takeout containers so if you don't finish, you can just take it to go. The bulgogi was the tastiest part of the set. Everything else was just okay. Soup was a bit on the salty side but that might just be me. I also love that they have a self-pay option at the cashier, so you can take your time looking at the menu on a screen. Fast, affordable, and easy! The third time I visited, my husband didn't enjoy his dish (I think it was the chicken wings), and I noticed some dirt on the water bottle. I quietly brought it to the manager's attention. He apologized sincerely--maybe a bit too loudly, which I worried might draw unwanted attention to his business--but his honesty and attentiveness were refreshing. I really respect businesses that own their mistakes and clearly communicate how they plan to fix them. He also made a big deal about compensating us but we decline. Because of that experience, I went back a fourth time--and everything was great. The food was solid, as always. Came here for a quick lunch while visiting an office in the area, and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The restaurant had a ton of Halloween decorations, which was really cute. It's the perfect spot for a quick service dining, they have seating available, but everything is done through the iPads at the front and you can either get your food to go or to eat at the tables that they will serve you at. They have a ton of options for toppings and bases. The price is comparable to a sweetgreen or a chipotle for a bowl, but you get so much more food! Highly recommend this to someone who hasn't tried a ton of Korean style foods, but wants to play it safe at first, getting a bowl from here will allow you to try a bunch of different subtle flavors while also relying on classics! This Koba Location is awesome. The employees are so sweet and helpful. They accommodated me by making my soy soup not spicy. Also, there is table service (they bring the food out to you) after you put in your order at the kiosk. And they give you nice real utensils, not plastic. It might take a while for the food to come out because there's one cook who makes everything from scratch. The portions are huge, and it takes me two sittings to finish each dish. So glad this place exists! Everything just works together well. The space is great for both taking food to go or for staying. It's so easy to order as they have multiple electronic kiosks where you can look at the options and place your order. I really love this option as someone who can be indecisive and a huge plus is they provide photos of all the add-ons, which is great for all us visual people out there and those who may not be familiar with Korean food. The staff are also top-notch and very hospitable! They make sure to come check on you, if you order to eat there, and they're pretty attentive to refilling water for you. My only complaint is that they do use a good amount of one-time use items even if you're eating there (disposable cups and plastic spoons/forks). I get it, but I'd love to see that change in the near future. As for their portions, if you get a rice base (they have greens for a base option as well) and depending on your average appetite, their portions are very generous! Staff there is super friendly and very knowledgeable when explaining to us how to order and what. My girlfriend went for the traditional kimchee while I went for a more custom bowl. As soon as we had our food arrived we were asked if we were willing to try new chicken wings they were thinking of adding to the menu, free of charge. We love wings, especially Korean style so we went for it too. The wings were phenomenal and I hope they do add it to the menu because that alone would make us come back again. And again. The food itself that we ordered was so good, well seasoned, great taste and texture. We loved just about everything about it. It's a very casual place so it's definitely a nice place to go with friends or family. The whole staff especially the manager were such great help figuring out what to order, and the portion sizes were much bigger than expected, especially for Manhattan. The Kimchi fried rice is a staple, their wings were exceptional, and the pork fried dumplings are INCREDIBLY juicy and crunchy on the outside.
