One of my favorite spots when I'm in town. It's usually crowded so expect a wait but it moves quickly. Nice brunch spot with a very diverse menu offering everything from breakfast to pasta. Highly recommend the Ricotta Pancakes. Fluffy pancakes topped with seared bananas and served with a nice honeycomb butter and real Vermont syrup. The Spicy Sausage Breakfast Sandwich has spicy pork sausage, fontina, a nice chili jam, a scrambled egg and a nice lemon aioli served on a bun. I was a little hesitant of this one, but this is very good. Food is always good and service is exceptional. It's a solid brunch spot. read more

Had the shrimp pasta, which was creamy but light, shrimp was cooked perfectly. Also had the pumpkin seed pesto pasta which was also spot on with the consistency of the sauce. Came for an Italian dinner, a friend of a friend suggested this establishment based on their experience - didn't realize there was a bunch of Ruby's all over Manhattan and one in Brooklyn. Since this place has the same name as my sister I had to go and try it. We stopped here on a Monday morning. We chose this place because of the smaller portions, it's been so hot that our appetite hasn't been the greatest. They seem to have a pretty decent-sized menu, too. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside because of the heat. However, the indoor space is on the smaller side, and the table arrangement in the center felt a bit awkward. The host asked if we had a reservation, but the place was basically empty, so why even ask? We paid a little over $30 for a smoothie and an avocado toast, which felt way too pricey for the amount of food we received. On top of that, we were charged $8 for water. Had I known the cost, I would've ordered an iced coffee or another smoothie instead. Overall, we won't be coming back. There are better spots out there with more comfortable seating, better vibes, and more reasonable portions for the price. Be careful. Little Ruby's is serving the kind of grilled cheese that makes you want to devour in private. It was tough to resist the temptation of wanting to lick my fingers after the last bite, somehow I managed. Also the coconut juice is NOT to be slept on. If you like coconut meat, it is possible to scrape the insides with your straw and get to the goodies. The service was top notch, accommodating and friendly! This review is specifically for the Big Breakfast because I eat it at every Ruby's location! I keep telling myself that I should diversify and provide a more accurate review, so I will update my review if I ever end up not being a creature of habit. I think the Murray Hill location makes fantastic use of the small space they have! However, if you come at a busy time, you will be able to hear your neighbors' conversations because the tables are very close together. The Big Breakfast ($20) comes with two eggs, bacon, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, baked beans, hash brown, and sourdough toast. Everything is flavored very well, especially the mushrooms and the beans. The hash brown has been perfectly fried every time I have it, though it needs ketchup. For the tomatoes, I prefer them without the stems, and have had mixed experiences with that execution. The last time I went here, the toast was also over-toasted and seemed to not have butter on it, so it was very dry. I just think this is such a filling, tasty, and balanced meal! Service at this location has always been welcoming! I have had people check in on me each time. They give you water, so they don't need to worry about water refills. read more

Pancakes are my usual go-to for breakfast, so I had to give the Ricotta Hotcakes at Little Ruby's a try. The place is definitely on the cozy side. Like, really cozy. Our table for two felt a bit tight and you might find yourself getting a little up close and personal with guests at nearby tables as they come and go. We kicked things off with the Butterfly Lavender Lemonade and a regular Lemonade. Both were super refreshing and a great start to the meal. The Ricotta Hotcakes come with bananas and a side of maple syrup. I'm not a fan of bananas with pancakes, but the staff was happy to switch them out for blueberries, which I really appreciated. The pancakes were nice and fluffy, but the ricotta could've used a little zing. Maybe some lemon zest or something to brighten it up. We also tried the Egg Sandwich, which had sunny-side eggs, bacon, cherry tomatoes, arugula, spicy relish, and a hash brown all stacked on a sesame bun. It was tasty and filling. It hit the spot. I'm just not sure why Ruby's is always so packed and has such high rates. Prices are kind of high for very mediocre food. Rhe service is really good once you get in and they will do what they can to accommodate dietary needs however, nothing stands out. This was my third visit. First time was for breakfast, 2nd time for lunch and this was for dinner. I was meeting up with a friend for dinner and she suggested Little Ruby's! The place is quite small but the ambiance and energy is amazing. I would first like to shout out rhe fabulous hostess who saw that I was running really low on phone battery and not only helped me find a plug, but lent me her own charger when we found out the charger I brought wouldn't work with the plug. Thank you! I ordered a lavender lemonade which was FABULOUS. Honestly one of the best drinks I've had in a long time and so needed after a long day of walking. It was also beautiful and pretty to look at. I ordered the spicy vodka pasta while my friend had the Bronte burger. While I didn't get pictures of either of those dishes (we were too hungry so just dug in), they were as delicious as the drink and large enough so that it also ended up being lunch for me. The servers were nice and attentive and didn't mind that we were there catching up for at least 2 hours. I ordered the banana bread, a small side of roasted tomatoes, and sautéed veggies. All of the food was pretty good! Simple and well done. The sautéed spinach we got was quite salty though. When we got the check, I noticed that we were charged $8 for the side of spinach that I thought I ordered ($4). Apparently the server thought I had ordered the full sized portion of spinach. Had a lovely Saturday brekkie during a nice autumn day. We didn't have a res but we waited only ten minutes for a table to free up outside. The servers were really nice and the food and drinks came out fairly quickly. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and a breakfast bowl. The latte was delicious and I liked the freshness of the ingredients in my bowl. The avocado was just right and the eggs were poached just the way I liked them (not too runny). We did deal with some small bugs and a persistent bee buzzing around us, but otherwise it was really nice to dine outside. Went to Ruby's in Murray Hill hoping for their breakfast burrito but they actually only serve that burrito at the West Village location and they tend to change the menu per location! That didn't stop us from having a great meal though. My party of three shared a rigatoni a la vodka, a crispy rice bowl salad, a side of brussels and banana bread. All amazing. I highly recommend getting the rice bowl since it was so light but incredibly flavorful. The rigatoni tasted great too and was an awesome accompaniment to the salad bowl. The Brussels were crispy and salted perfectly. The banana bread to finish off was a great ending (the passionfruit butter that came with it was so so good).
