    What is in the bun
    Olya V D.

You'd think a sandwich bun is just flour, water, yeast, and maybe a sprinkle of salt, right? Well... not exactly--at least not at Chick-fil-A. Let's take a closer look at the bun ingredients from the Chick-fil-A sandwich: The Bun Itself: * Enriched Wheat Flour - standard bread base, often enriched with vitamins. * Water, Sugar, Yeast, Salt - pretty normal so far. * Soybean Oil - adds moisture, but also a processed fat. * Wheat Gluten - for that chewy structure. * Cultured Wheat Flour & Vinegar - likely for preservation and slight tang. * Calcium Sulfate, Monoglycerides, DATEM, Calcium Propionate - here's where it gets less appetizing. These are preservatives and dough conditioners--great for shelf life, questionable for your gut. * Ascorbic/Citric Acid, Enzymes, Soy Lecithin, Potassium Iodate - more additives to keep the bun soft, bouncy, and golden. That's 16 ingredients just for the bun alone. So while it might look like a simple fluffy bun hugging your crispy chicken, it's really a cocktail of preservatives, conditioners, and emulsifiers hiding behind a golden glow.

Smallest chicken strip that I have ever seen. So they need to fix that. Besides that, the food was fresh when we picked it up in the drive thru. Service was good as well.

I have been enjoying Chick-Fil-A for 20+ years and I have to say that this new location just off 12th St. and Washington in Ogden is the largest and nicest one I have ever been to! It is large inside with rows of booth seating as well as some standard single tables. Beautiful views of the Ogden mountain range outside the windows and fantastic service on the inside. Outdoor seating also! Super clean at all times with quick, friendly employees. This location even has a playland area for kids and families which is a nice touch. All that added to the great food they serve adds up to a winning restaurant!

New guy at the register rang up my order. Connor. He gave me my sauces before the order was ready Stood around with sauces in hand for 5 minutes waiting for order. mfw

I got the large in desire of more fries specifically. My girlfriend got the medium, and ended up with more fries. This is ridiculous, even if it was from a lower degree fast food chain. But for it to come from Chick-fil-A makes it that much worse. This is the untouched large fry I received.

On paper, it hits that sweet spot: quick, casual sandwiches with a bit of personality. In practice, though, the execution doesn't keep up with the promise. The biggest issue is the production line--or lack of one. For a place built around fast sandwiches, a 5-8 minute wait from order to pickup feels unnecessarily sluggish. It's not just the time--it's the absence of rhythm. There's no visible flow, no sense that orders are moving forward with purpose. That's compounded by the physical layout: the counter is set back far enough that you can't really see what's happening. Instead of transparency and anticipation, you're left standing there, disconnected, waiting without context. Then there's the food itself. The sandwiches land squarely in the "fine, but forgettable" category. Hot sandwiches, in particular, miss the mark--more like something that sat a little too long than something freshly made. Think lukewarm bread with onions that feel more tired than grilled. Nothing is outright bad, but nothing stands out either. The atmosphere doesn't help. The energy behind the counter is low--no urgency, no enthusiasm, no sense that the team is driving toward anything. It feels static. In a space like this, momentum matters. Even average food can feel better when it's delivered with speed and intention. Here, that spark is missing. In the end, Potbelly has the right idea and the right price point--but without tightening up efficiency, improving visibility, and bringing some life back into the service, it struggles to deliver on what should be a straightforward win

I've never felt compelled to leave a public review of a restaurant before, but after multiple disappointing visits, I genuinely hope this one improves. That's why I'm leaving two stars instead of one: there's potential here, and I'd like to see it realized. Unfortunately, I don't plan on returning until significant changes are made in the kitchen. The one consistently positive aspect has been the service. Every visit, the front-of-house staff has been welcoming, attentive, and professional. They deserve recognition because they elevated an otherwise disappointing dining experience. The food, however, has repeatedly failed to justify its premium pricing. On one visit, the beurre blanc was served cold, leaving it heavy and unpleasant rather than rich and velvety. The forest herb pasta arrived garnished with two paper-thin slivers of what tasted like canned truffle, which felt more like an afterthought than a luxury ingredient. Nearly every dish was covered with oddly dyed edible flowers that added nothing to the flavor and often distracted from the plate itself. Another visit featured a halibut special topped with potato "scales." The concept was interesting, but the execution wasn't there. The potatoes were cut far too thick and weren't evenly layered across the fish, resulting in an awkward texture and uneven cooking. Properly blanching the potato slices beforehand would have made them more pliable and helped achieve the delicate scale effect the dish was clearly aiming for. I've also experienced overcooked lamb, bland seasoning, and dishes that lacked the depth and refinement you'd expect at this price point. Across multiple meals, the cooking has felt inconsistent, and too often the presentation seems to take priority over flavor. At these prices, I expect thoughtful execution, consistency, and food that leaves an impression for the right reasons. Instead, I left each visit feeling that the experience was more style than substance. It's disappointing because there's clear potential here, especially with such a strong service team. But until the kitchen becomes more consistent and the food better reflects the prices being charged, I won't be returning.

However, the last 6 or so years, has been disappointing to say the least. They have gone downhill. Upped their prices significantly and the food quality has gone down. We tried one more time this week and I can officially say that's my last time. Ordered the fowl play, it's supposed to be a yummy turkey and sprouts, used to come on a good bun, this time they served it on a freaking hamburger bun, tiny bit of meat, no flavor.. it was terrible. They didn't have 3 of the 4 beers we asked for on their menu (and a can of beer was $8), the salad bar was terrible looking, everything was old, dry, or brown. Wife ordered the french dip, by far the worst we've ever had, almost no meat and lacking flavor. Fresh fruit.. yeah 1/8 slice of an apple. Famous mormon muffins, may be close to the same, but the honey butter sucks now. To top it off, the kid cleaning the salad bar had his pants sagging below his butt. It's disgusting and unprofessional, especially since they upped their prices and going for a "fancier atmosphere ". I'm all for giving someone a chance to work, but make them dress and look professional when handling food. He had gloves on but reached to grab his sagging pants at least 6 times while cleaning/stocking the salad bar, defeats the purpose of wearing gloves when he's touching his butt every 30 seconds. Really sad and disappointed, this used to be a family favorite, no wonder the place was empty. Nostalgia only lasts until you ruin it with poor quality.

Why does everything they sell have to have aioli or arugula or some weird overbearing sauce. Would have been happier with a d nice burger with at least an option to get lettuce/tomato and onion on it. Our party of 3 tried different burgers and we all had complaints. Sauce WAY too spicy, the crispy onions on my Bob's burger looked like something that can out of a can and not real onion crisps and the other was just plain bland. All burgers were bland. Buns felt like day-old buns from the grocery store and were barely toasted. Clearly made in a rush. Fries were so-so regular fries were a bit over-done and the garlic fries were OK . Biggest complaint is the brice - grossly overpriced for the quality of food. Making burgers with odd-ball ingredients doesn't make it gourmet - just weird.
