Small location in a plaza next to ShopRite. Unfortunately, the service here has been consistently poor. I went during my lunch break and ordered through the drive-thru--it took over 40 minutes, and when I finally reached the window, my food still wasn't ready. This isn't the first time I've had this issue at this location. The food is standard for Chick-fil-A, but if you're short on time or in a hurry, I would avoid this place. Popped in for a quick lunch with my daughter today. Faculty was nice and clean, but took forever to get service. Very surprised to see CFA with so many bad reviews, but the few times I've went, the food was fine, but I noticed some other issues. The setup is a little different, especially at the pickup area. There's always a huge crowd,disorganized with names being yelled out and the line to order is usually long too. I orders the 12 count nugget meal plus a CFA spicy sandwich. The items tasted pretty good and the fries were tasty. The issue with this CFA is that they don't have a condiment section nor any area with napkins and utensils. You have to go ask employees for that. I've been to almost 50 different CFA thought out the country and this location is the only one that doesn't have a napkin stand. Also, dine in orders are given in to go containers, which is quite odd. Customers have to pick up their dine in orders, from the pickup area. Since they tried to restrict the space (but at the same time, not really) it was easily overcrowded and messy. It was hard to both hear and check the orders they have completed and ready to go. This was hands down the worst fast food experience I ever had. I ordered two kids meals with nuggets and a spicy chicken sandwich at 1244pm. I didn't get my food until 110pm. There was a crowd of people in the store asking about their orders, some had been waiting 30mins. Management was no where to be found and the kids working the counter were absolutely lost. The part that bothers me most about this experience is that they said they were waiting on nuggets and we were told several times they just came out the fryer. No one in the waiting area was getting their orders but the drive through moved at a steady pace. So it's now obvious that drive thru orders take precedence over walk-in orders. Corporate needs to step in and retrain the management at this location. Went to this store today. Was met by a very pleasant young woman in the drive through who took our order. She repeated the order back to me, scanned my rewards, had me swipe my card and sent me off to pick up my order at the window. She was wonderful. I'm sorry i didn't see her name. Here where the experience goes down hill. Our order consisted of two meals. One grilled nugget and one friend nugget both with macaroni and cheese and large drinks. We pull up to the window and are handed out drinks......one large and one medium. We let it go. It wasn't that big of a deal. Now we proceed to sit and wait. We waited almost 15 minutes at the window all while they are serving the order to the card behind us, who by the way are now trapped in line with their food because they can't get passed us. Finally a bag is handed to us. It contained only our Mac n cheese. We are told they are still waiting in the nuggets. So we sit and wait some more. Finally a good is handed to us and we start to drive away. Something inside me said to check the order and low and behold it was wrong. We got two orders of fried nuggets. Now I'm annoyed because we have waiting at least 25 minutes. I get out of my car and take the nuggets back to the drive up window. I explain we ordered one grilled and one friend and we got two fried. The girl at the window relays that to the staff inside and another person pops their head out and says "what". So i explain it again. She goes back in Next a manager pops out and says you owes us $1.34. I said for what? She proceeds to explain that the grilled nuggets cost more. I tried to explain that i already paid for grilled nuggets. That was my original order. She said i refunded your the fried nuggets and now you have to pay for the upgrade. At this point I'm so angry. After 10 mins of just waiting to tell someone what happened I finally got to tell someone at the front register. The young worker told the manager about it and all of her responses were so snarky and she was clearly annoyed with the whole ordeal. She asked for my name so rudely and then got my stuff ready like she was throwing a mini fit. I was so confused lol. I've been a loyal Chick-fil-a customer for years and was absolutely ecstatic when I discovered their newest location in South Plainfield, closer to my house. I've been to this location several times now since they opened a few months ago and have had stellar experiences every time. Right now, only their drive-thru is open (most likely due to COVID-19) and the lines have been super long every time I visit, so be prepared to be patient! Regardless, the staff does their absolute best to take care of each customer efficiently. In the few times that I've been to this location, I've never had to wait longer than 10 min for my food. I see staff members standing outside (wearing masks) with their iPads, taking orders from each car rain or shine! That can't be easy and yet, they manage to do it with a smile and excellent customer service. My personal go-to order is a Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich, but honestly any item on the menu is delicious. Their MUST TRY item is the waffle fries -- you can't get these at any other fast food restaurant!! The waffle fries always come out hot and the perfect balance between crisp and soft. I highly recommend trying their signature Chick-Fil-A sauce, as well!! (It's basically a mix of BBQ sauce, honey mustard, and ranch but it a Chick-Fil-A staple.) As with any fast food restaurant, I'd recommend double checking your order before leaving. The one time I was missing an item from my order, the staff immediately apologized and took care of it quickly. read more

Been here twice since opening. I wanna give 3 stars, but allowing grace due to brand new opening in a COVID-19 environment. Excited for this new reportedly black owned franchise and good eats! Long lines are par for the course right now. On my first visit (mid day), it took about 30 minutes to get through the drive thru and on the second visit (evening) it took about 20 minutes. Both times, my waffle fries were cold and soggy by the time I reached the pickup window which means the food is being prepped and bagged and sat outside in a bin way before I make it to the window. They need to close that gap somehow so the food is actually fresh and hot! The chicken strips were warmer than the fries. But again, they are new! And they are well staffed and some employees are still learning the system. I noticed plenty of Directors (in navy shirts) on hand to quickly resolve issues. Congrats to the owner. If I could give zero stars I would. To start, the drive through line was long so we parked and walked inside. As we began to walk in a female employee YELLED at us to wait outside and provided no explanation. A minute later she came over to us and asked if we had a pickup order, we replied no. She rudely told us we had to go back to our car as we could not order inside and promptly turned her back and walked away. I replied suggesting that they update on google to note that inside orders were not allowed (we googled before coming to ensure this location was open so I know it didn't have anything). She replied "that's not my job" (again, with a lot of attitude) and I suggested that she pass the feedback on to her manager, or at the least hang a sign on the door indicating the new rules to prevent this problem in the future. I completely understand and respect why patrons would not be allowed inside during this time, but 1) the communication/indicators this is the new rule is terribly communicated, and 2) the female employee we dealt with has a major attitude problem and would be enough to make me not want to come back to this establishment. read more
