It is pretty hard to find as I didnt see the name of the restaurant outside. I came by myself. Tonight was game 4, NY knicks swept the Cavs with a blowout. I watch the end of the game in here. Inside looks nice, booth is comfortable. Lively decoration with a spinning floating lightbulb in each table. The air is a bit stuffy though. I only ordered a burger as I heard from other reviewers that it is the best burger. It is quite tasty. Burger is on the smaller side, size of my palm. For $22, it also came with French fries. It is a bit more to the expensive side if I compare to what I will pay for a double burger and fries at Burger joint at 7th street burger. I guess i paid for the atmosphere. Service is ok. The waitress is very quiet. I dont think she spoke more than 20 words to me. Mostly nodding at my request. She did refill my water without me asking. However, she didnt bring me utensils. We went here once over a yr ago maybe.. Wouldn't expect a place like this in Flushing but it isnt too close to the main area... it was really lit outside but dim inside. The bar was nice, different vibe than the city, so we were able to sit and just relax. It's a small place..but they do serve food and had different cocktails and lots of liquors.. We tried the popcorn chicken thighs which was just okay for me but I don't like popcorn chicken normally so I had only had a 1-2 pieces, we wanted to try a lil something while we had drinks... The drinks ...hmm they tasted a bit too sweet for me.. They do sound creative, but too many sugary items... they even sold a cookie matched with a drink.. as if the drinks weren't sweet enough. We tried at least 6 of them and L doesn't really drink but took a sip from each of them. They're not really strong...I'm tiny and I wasn't close to drunk. Sorry but I don't get the hype. Perhaps all the good reviews are from the Yelp event that they hosted for Elites. The moment we walked in we were overwhelmed by the smell of cigarettes. It was still early so semi-bright and the place did not look clean - perhaps due to the smoke. Anyway we sat down and ordered happy hour drinks and oysters. The drinks were not good. Very watered down with almost no alcohol and tons of syrup. But the biggest let down were the oysters. They were 6 for $10.50 (I think) during hh. They were small, watery, not meaty at all. The truffle fries were frozen packaged fries for sure. The service was fine but the waitress tried to take away our unfinished food and drinks multiple times. Found this spot randomly in Flushing and it was definitely a hidden gem. It was a little hard to find since it's located upstairs above another restaurant, but once inside, the decor was really cool and unique. The Japanese ninja masks throughout the space gave it a great vibe, and they even had a cool magma-style lamp built into the table. The menu is pretty limited, so don't expect a huge selection. We started with the oysters, a burger with fries, and the Bang Bang shrimp. The oysters were fresh and a good size. The burger was juicy and cooked well, but the fries were pretty basic. They also offer hand-cut truffle fries, which are much better, so I'm not sure why they don't ask which option you'd prefer. The Bang Bang shrimp wasn't really my favorite because it was battered more like coconut shrimp, which wasn't what I was expecting. The drinks, however, were refreshing and well made. However, the coolest spot is definitely a seat at the bar! That's where all the action is. Drinks are phenomenal here, each one more unique and pleasing to the senses. My favorite was the clarified Pina Colada type drink called the Velvet Moon. I highly recommend going during Happy Hour which is the best pricing around town. It happened to be one of the workers birthdays too and they passed around some of his cake which I thought was so sweet. The hospitality and service was truly A+!!! This is my second time here! Came for a yelp event and of course it never disappoints! Mac is the hostess with the mostest! He really takes pride in his business with the service and the food! The booths fit around 4 people comfortably (maybe 5 if you squeeze in), and the cool Japanese-inspired interiors with masks were a nice touch. We tried mostly fried dishes. Having been to IYKYK a couple of times, I was shocked to learn it was a speakeasy. I guess because I know, so I know, but I kinda didn't know, if you know what I mean. The Miso Gold Rush with the miso oolong honey and lemon is something to try. The almost a Manhattan is an interesting take on the Manhattan. Bitters don't impress me much, but I am not bitter about it. They have Cooper and Thief bourbon barrel aged Red Blend wine. It is aged in Bourbon barrels for three months. Will you like it? Maybe. This really is a good example of when you have to ask a couple of questions. Wines vary from year to year and even though that is a captain obvious statement, variation of grapes in a blend coupled with whiskey barrel aging does not, in my personal opinion, lend itself to a consistent product and you may have this wine and love it and I hope you took a crayon out and marked down the year because the next time you have it, it can taste differently in my humble opinon. IYKYK and maybe I just don't know. If you like sweet wines, you may like this one. If you don't, you will probably believe Cooper and Thief robbed you. Flushing has been lacking a cocktail bar that people can just chill at. I know there's Leaf and The Attic, but I never felt like I could just hang out there all night. We got in and immediately fell in love with the ambience as it was the vibe me and my group were looking for on our first night visiting NYC. This cocktail bar opened about a month ago, on the other side of Northern Blvd, a few blocks from the heart of Flushing (where parking is a little easier). There is also a parking lot right across the street, which is convenient. I love the ambiance of this intimate bar; there is dark wood, splashes of gold and soft lighting (and floating lightbulbs). It was not too loud and has a great atmosphere to come on a date or a girls' night out. Of the bars in this area, IYKYK has the best cocktails, IMHO. I really enjoyed the Miso Gold Rush, Almost a Manhattan and Kiss+Tell. The bartender also made us an off-menu cocktail that he's developing for Spring; I think it was called the Strawberry Negroni, which ended up being my favorite. Food-wise, we tried a various amount off the menu. My favorites were the grilled oysters with garlic and parmesan, the smashed double beef burger, and the popcorn chicken thighs. If you are looking for a snack to munch on, the Maple Glaze Truffle Salt Fries were perfectly fine, but I really liked the Sweet Potato Fries with shredded parmesan on top for a nice sweet & salty bite.
