Boozy Fun as we celebrated my nephew's 21st birthday. The place gets really packed from Prime Time 8pm to late. First come, first serve in this local gem of a bar. Great mixologists and wait staff is very attentive. We went three rounds and everyone was happy with their drinks. The mini lobster rolls and fries were a nice entree for one of the guests. The fries had a nice seasoning to them and topped with garnish. Everyone else was here for the drinks. So many options on the drink menu including wines, cocktails and mocktails. If you don't see it on the menu, you can still ask if they can make it. Very cool vibes and atmosphere. I was hyped to come to this speakeasy bar, I heard great things about this place. However, when entering it was really cool decor, walked up the stairs, host explained that there isn't any two person tables at this time, I saw one corner of my eye and asked how about that one, the host explained that it was reserved for 3 ppl, ok Ill wait for a table, I explained I'll be at the bar, let us know when one is available. I saw three tables right of the bar, so I asked the host can we sit there, he explained again that was for 3 or more ppl. After going back and forth about a booth, because we did see other booths with 2 ppl that was for "3 or more ppl". He sat us near the big window. After being seated, same host James I believe sat two ppl at the 3 person booth in front of us. Like seriously, I was already turned off by this. I almost left but my lady convinced me to stay. Food: We got a dozen of oysters, short rib and bone marrow and the Waygu beef burger. Food was great hands down. Drinks at the bar: Bartenders seemed too busy on their phones and didn't really notice us sitting down until I called them over. I had an old fashioned but didn't realize they had their on spin on an old fashioned which I would have tried if the bartender mentioned it. Oh well. Waitress: May was excellent, she super friendly, attentive and very nice. Overall, I was pretty displeased with the host, kind of ruined the hype of this bar. Food and drinks were really good. Customer service needs some adjustments. If you gonna tell people that booths are 3+ ppl don't turn around and seat 2 ppl there. (Almost seemed a bit racist to me as we didn't appear Asian) but I don't want to think that was the case. Would I come back? I'm unsure about that, maybe for the burger and try another drink. Being at The Attic was a unique experience. I was amazed by the decor against the wall that transported you to back in time. Even the drink menu came in a fitting leather booklet which fit the aesthetic. We had just missed happy hour on a Thursday evening which was from 4-7 pm. Upon sitting down the lights suddenly dimmed, isolating each table. We ordered the Gunpowder and Lucky Me (delicious and not too sweet!) Our drinks paired well with truffle fries. 5 stars for the ambiance and drinks. I'd say 3 stars for the food itself. Ambiance is quite nice as it feels very intimate. Great for a date night or to catch up with a few friends. For drinks, I got the ACA Cucumber and my boyfriend got the Oaxacanite. I didnt have high expectations but I really loved my drink! Super refreshing and to my surprise, quite strong but did not taste like it. My bf also enjoyed his and ended up getting another one. Onto the food, I wish the oysters were bigger. It's priced at almost 2 dollars a piece and I just felt that a lot of the pieces were not worth it. The truffles fries were perfect though -- perfectly crispy. Lastly, the clams were meaty and a good size. The chorizo was just a little stale and disappointing though and didn't really add to the dish. The Attic in Flushing has been on my to go list for about a year. On Friday 3/21/25 I finally made my way over there. Very excited The sign to the restaurant is small and can easily be missed but once you open the door- the inside stairs leading to the dining room is beautiful. Think mosaic glass & a vintage chandelier. Details definitely matter - once I got to the top of stairs - there were 2 cleaning chemical bottles out in plain view of diners- this took away from the ambiance Regarding service - the server informed us that we can sit anywhere on the right side versus walking us to the table. Once we sat down, we felt the chairs were extremely low. Too low & had no arm rest. Also the restaurant was extremely dusty, almost every piece of furniture was covered with dust. I understand that they are going for a speakeasy vibe & the name of the restaurant is " The Attic" but cleanliness should still be a priority. Small details such as changing the blown light bulbs on the chandelier, dusting the furniture & swapping out badly soiled menus really matters On to the food- started with 1/2 dozen happy hour oysters ( something they are known for) imagine my surprise when I was about to slurp an oyster then realized NONE of them were shucked properly. We ended up shuckin them ourselves. We did not get a small oyster fork, the server gave us regular entree forks. Our oysters did not come with vinegar-- other tables received it. We ordered a bottle of bubbly & it was placed on the table versus in an ice bucket. Once I pointed it out, that's when we received an ice bucket. The $28 wagyu burger was juicy at first then I realized they slaughtered it with ketchup? The only none disappointing item was the $12 truffle fries The drink- I ordered a lemon drop martini ; it tasted more like iced lemon juice. This hidden bar in Flushing is a gem! I came one Saturday evening, and had to wait a bit as it was busy. They have bar seating, some table seating, and booth seating here. Service was pretty quick. I tried a couple of their cocktails (the Strawberry shortcake cocktail was pretty fun, but really sweet!), their fries, uni and foie gras toast, and burger. Everything was delicious, but if I were to recommend one of their food items, I HIGHLY recommend their uni and foie gras toast. Would definitely come back here again. read more

I went to The Attic as a party of three on a Friday evening, around 6-7 p.m. Since it was peak hours, we had expected a lengthy wait and were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we were seated. Unfortunately, that ended up being the only positive of the evening. Our server was lovely, but he seemed inexperienced, constantly apologizing for minor mistakes that a more seasoned server might have avoided. The bar itself was cramped, though the ambience was charming. The décor was gorgeous, transporting you back to the Victorian era as if you were dining with nobility. That said, it was definitely on the darker side and slightly loud with the music. This comes down to preference--while it didn't suit my family's needs, that's not something I'd critique the restaurant for. What can be critiqued is the service before we were seated, which was abysmal. We were told to sign up on a waitlist sheet that ended up never being used. Instead, we were placed at the bar and told we'd be seated at the next available opening. The staff seemed overwhelmed at best and downright rude at worst--the attitude of the hostess who placed us at the bar, along with the bartender's dismissiveness, left us with a bad first impression. If it weren't for our primary waiter being genuinely kind--though, as mentioned, rather untrained--I would have rated the service much lower. Ultimately, I think this bar suffers from being understaffed for its popularity, while also being too small a space to accommodate more staff without overcrowding the already-cramped speakeasy. As for food and drinks, everything I tried ranged from mediocre to below average--hardly what you want when paying premium prices. To give credit where it's due, the drink menu was impressively extensive, with pages of cocktails and a fair selection of mocktails for those abstaining. I ordered the Piña Colada ($18), my younger brother had the Spicy Mule mocktail ($14), and my aunt chose the Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice ($18). I enjoyed my Piña Colada. It was a different take on the classic--served over ice rather than blended. The pineapple flavor came through nicely, and though sweeter than I prefer, it wasn't unpleasant. My brother's Spicy Mule, however, tasted like someone had poured ginger into store-brand lemonade and called it a drink. My aunt's cocktail leaned sweet as well, with a grapefruit flavor profile accented by a slight bitterness to balance it out. For food, we ordered two wagyu burgers and a short rib. First, a note: I haven't been able to find an updated online menu that matches the one we were given in person. Over half the dishes I'd seen online weren't actually available, leaving only four entrées and a handful of appetizers and sides. Now, the facts: the food took 30-45 minutes to arrive, which would have been acceptable had the dishes not been lukewarm. The wagyu burgers were underwhelming--the patties underseasoned, the sauce overpowering, and the cheese virtually nonexistent. The buns somehow managed to be both dry and soggy, with the bottoms drenched in beef fat to the point of disintegration. At $28 each, they felt far from worth the price. The side of truffle fries sounded promising but arrived soggy, cold, and poorly seasoned--as if they'd been left to sit and then tossed in seasoning that wouldn't stick. The short rib fared better. It was tender and paired nicely with the mashed potatoes and bone marrow, though again underseasoned and lukewarm. Anyone who's had cold mashed potatoes knows how poorly they hold up. Still, it was one of the more enjoyable bites of the evening, even if at $30 it was one of the priciest entrées on the limited menu. To the Attic's credit, we didn't order their supposed specialty: oysters. Perhaps they would have redeemed the night, but given the quality of the food we did try, I'm doubtful. Ultimately, the Attic's strengths lie in its ambience and extensive drink selection. Unfortunately, both the food and the service weigh heavily against those positives. read more

This spot is so unassuming. The ambiance is cozy and dimly lit. Great spot for a date or a night out. Call ahead and make reservations to save yourself the headache of waiting in line as they get very busy especially on the weekends. The cocktails are delicious and very creative. Don't be surprised if they bring you the tab before you ask for it, it gets pretty busy and I'm assuming they try to sit as many people as possible. Overall the service is great and they are very friendly. Will be adding this spot to my rotation. read more

Sometimes I go to a bar alone after a work week since I travel across the USA frequently. Their food was good, drinks and cocktails were great, fairly priced. About the same price as the bar I went to in Chicago. Just the vibe was different. One of the servers was pretty friendly. But, the bartenders didn't really seem too interested in socializing. It was my first time here and it differed greatly to my first time at the bar in Chicago, where the bartender was socializing me frequently. I've been wanting to come here for so long! Finally took a day off from work and came here with my boyfriend for happy hour weekdays 5 to 7 PM. The door to the entrance is hard to spot if you had no idea there was a speakeasy there. Upon opening the large, wooden door and going up a flight of colorful tiled stairs, you enter a dimly lit room that feels like an antique, mysterious bookroom. All the lounging tables by the windows were occupied as well as the bar seating area, but we were seated in those private two-people tables across the bar table by the wall. We ordered a dozen oysters, 6 of each of the happy hour ones. For appetizers, we received a complimentary truffle parmesan fries for checking in on Yelp that was very good. The only thing is that it does not come with spicy mayo or any other special sauces, just ketchup. As for the entrees, we shared a lobster "roll" and a short rib with bone marrow. Both were very delicious, especially the short rib with bone marrow. Cooked just well and beautifully seasoned! The lobster roll is not actually in a roll like most places, but in a bun. The bun is still very buttered up and the lobster meat was juicy. Both cocktails, Fluffy O' Mandarin and Attic Punch were great. Fluffy O' Mandarin tastes like a special orange juice and attic punch tastes like a pina colada. The oysters were so delicious, especially the Rocky Tops, that we had to order another dozen of them. The oysters come with mini Tobasco sauce bottles as well as cocktail sauce and a ginger vinegary sauce. Everything tasted so good and the server was very friendly. Will definitely come back! They used to have a DJ, but I haven't seen one on my last few visits, it was a playlist but still a1. Oysters are always fresh. Large selection. Their wagyu burger is sooo good & juicy. I don't usually like mozzarella on a burger but here it's really good. As a matter of fact it's the only place I'll feel the urge to order a burger. That says a lot. Lobster Roll is good, but not my fav...but it's not bad at all. Charcuterie was delicious. Their bread basket...bread is served warm and it's scrumptious. Truffle fries yummy Last but definitely not least, the salmon. I always feel like I've eaten one of the most healthiest & tastiest salmon preparations ever. It's simply grilled but full of flavor. We usually get a bottle of Chardonnay, but when we've ordered cocktails they were prepared excellently. Service is excellent. I had a favorite server but she's no longer there. She was so beautiful & soft spoken but on point with service! I think she was from Thailand if I'm not mistaken, such nice ppl as a whole. Then my next fav was May. There were so many drink options to choose from, but I tried Lucky Me ($17) for its yuzu flavor, and Cha Cha Cha ($17) for its light matcha infused one. Both were so creative and delicious! Bonus point for the authentic speakeasy entrance that we walked by three times trying to find Atmosphere is on point. You're transported from the bustling streets of Flushing to a cocktail oasis. Full bar with plenty of whiskies. Handful of wines by the glass and several beers by bottle but no drafts. Cocktails are clearly the flagship. They had a list of signatures plus a couple seasonal specials. The waitress was very observant and was keen to try to optimize our experiences. I opted for a glass of wine given the chilly weather while my wife had a cocktail. All in all, we had a very nice time here. We definitely return for the atmosphere and to give more of their cocktails a try. read more

Located off of Union Street, The Attic is a cozy speakeasy that is located on the 2nd Floor. The stairs leading upstairs are a bit narrow, so keep that in mind. It can get busy during the night as many spend quite some time drinking and having appetizets. From their drinks, happy hour oysters, and their truffle fries, you really can't go wrong with any of the items you choose. During their Happy Hour, you can choose the different types of oysters you want. Whenever I went, they were all very fresh and tasty. The fries are always a must order as they come out crispy with the taste of truffle oil. To top it off, I always go for the Cheese and Charcuterie Board. The drinks are pretty strong, and you can't go wrong with any that you choose. One of my favorite drinks is "Attic's Punch." You can taste the pineapple and sweetness from the drink, and I think it is one of the fruitier cocktails you can order. If you're sitting at the bar, you can also ask the bartenders for their recommendation or have them create something for you. Their food options are a bit limited but pretty good. I usually get the Short Rib with Bone Marrow. The meat isn't dry, has a nicely sweetened soy sauce flavor, and the bone marrow is super rich. But, I do believe this place is best suited as a "drink and hangout" kind of place than a "let's grab dinner" place. Staff is attentive and friendly and never rushed me to leave. This place is so cute and definitely lives up to its name as you feel like you are in an actual attic. There's dark wood paneling, chandeliers, bookshelves, and even a deer head by the stairs. It has an intimate vibe, great for a date night, or to catch up with friends. We came here in December, and they did an excellent job decorating for Christmas. We were a large group, and they were great about accommodating us in the bar area. The drink menu has a great selection of traditional cocktails. I ordered a drink with passion fruit, and it was great. We tried out the oysters, the Wagyu beef burger, French fries, and the charcuterie board. The burger was juicy and delicious.
