Traveling from out of state we figured this was another regional copy of K*C. It's better. I thought on seeing the familiar trays of chicken under heat lamps that we were in for a mediocre experience. Not so. Only one breading style is offered, but it's excellently fresh: tender and juicy rather than dry and rubbery. And I don't know how they manage to make "pick your pieces" work, but they do. One word of warning: the large cups are 44 oz. Unless it's a hot day they may be overwhelming. read more

Where do I start, Friday night, September 29th 2023 me and my friends went to go eat at 9:10pm. Whenever we walk in there the bathrooms were locked and they didn't have any concern about it. As we order I asked for a roll and they gave me a biscuit. I was highly disappointed. Meanwhile now we have all 4 been sick for the past 3 days. I've heard a lot about chicken express and how it's a must try down south. I was happy we went through their speedy drive thru! The chicken was incredibly crispy, juicy and truly finger licking good! I also got the fried okra, which is something my mother used to make when I was a kid and loved. This did not disappoint. And the portions were large especially for what you paid. The fried pickles were delicious as well. I'd give 5 stars if there were more dessert options and if they included any sauce with your meal, or at least asked. This place fails to check drive-thru orders to make sure their customers get what they've paid for and insist that customers go out of their way to correct chicken express's mistake by coming in to retrieve the missing item (which defeats the purpose of going through the drive-thru to begin with, wait in the 12 car drive-thru line again (yes, I counted them the second time around) or they expect their customers to take the loss. None of these options are acceptable. read more

This is the best Chicken-E, EVER! It's a new store. I don't even think it's a year old, yet. Their staff seems more like higher-end restaurant servers as opposed to fast-food workers, and the food is as excellent as you would expect in a Chicken Express. Friendly Staff. Easy menu to order from (fast food). Food was out before we got done getting drinks! We order 12 piece family pack for family if 5 for $23 and it was TOO MUCH! Wow! Feed a family for $29?!?! It sounds crazy, but we all know that some places have better soda fountains than others- this one is tops. Their tea is ADDICTIVE! (Had it in a take home gallon before). The chicken was perfectly prepared. Large, golden brown, moist and very tasty! KFC & Popeyes seem to overcook for my taste. Fried pickles are very good. The mashed potatoes are OUT OF THIS WORLD!! OK I am sad to make this review. My oldest daughter went to work here the beginning of the year and I learned what the MAIN INGREDIENT is... MSG! She has to mix a 5 lb bag of it with a 7Lb bag of salt in water everyday to soak the chicken in. I do NOT eat MSG knowingly. This saddens me so much because it was the first chicken strip place i have ever liked. I was not sure so I went to Chicken express web site and it was verified. Also I saw on there own web site that there chicken has more sodium than any other chicken place. Wow the truth hurts so bad sometimes but we all need to know the facts and the truth about our food. So I can say I have not eaten here but one time the past 6 months and that time was fish which does NOT have the MSG marinade. I have emailed the corp office and never got a response.
