It was put on buttery grilled bread which was crispy and good. The shake had great flavor and was thick however it was not smooth- maybe the ice cream was icy? That's the only minor issue! Stopped at The Rabbit Patch passing through Atlanta, TX on a road trip and ended up having a really solid mid-afternoon lunch. It was pretty quiet for a Wednesday, so they didn't have a full staff on, but service didn't suffer at all--our food came out quick and fresh. We ordered a Monte Cristo, fajita quesadillas, bacon cheese fries, sweet potato fries, mini corn dogs for the kids, plus a birthday cake and a chocolate shake. The bacon cheese fries looked incredible but didn't quite live up to the hype. I wanted the cheese to be more melty but it was pretty dry. Everything else, though, was excellent. The fresh-cut fries were hot and crispy, the Monte Cristo was top notch, and the quesadillas disappeared before I even had a chance to grab a picture. Overall, a great stop if you're passing through--especially if you're craving something fresh and made-to-order. Solid 4 out of 5 stars. read more

When I travel. I don't need expensive or fancy or even trendy restaurants, I just need good ones. If you are traveling through NE Texas and need a tasty burger from good folks- don't miss the Rabbit Patch. The owners have designed a really creative and novel approach to their restaurant, tying their theme into the local football team and high school in a classy down home way. Additionally, on our visit, despite clearly looking like we were from way out of town, the staff was friendly, on point, and treated us wonderfully. Additionally, the burgers are fantastic! Wonderful little restaurant, just okay food. They have a great little setup of decor - lots of local high school sports teams and town history. The staff was very nice to us. Food was great ***** Service * Upon entering Rabbit Patch we were not welcomed just asked if we knew what we wanted to order. I had never been there and had questions about the menu. The young worker rolled her eyes and said I've never had it. I'm not sure. Then I asked what was in the special sauce that was served on the chicken wrap and once again she said I don't know. After taking all 3 of our orders she had no problem swinging the tablet around and requesting the tip for the horrible customer interaction she provided. Fantastic! This is a Bucket List for Atlanta Texas. It's converted drug store from back in the day when they had counter service. They still have the original AMAZINGLY thick quality front doors. This is a history stop as well-vintage photos, paraphenalia from years past and soooooo many yearbooks from he local high school. I mean this place is a must see especially if you ever lived in the area. Food-wise, it's basically a milkshake shop & grill. They could EASILY add a coffee bar. They have all the flavorings for spruced up coffees from their milkshake flavors. We went twice in two days...so that says something. =) It's called the Rabbit Patch, I assume a nod to the high school mascot (Rabbits). read more

I visit Atlanta Texas from the Dallas area on a regular basis. I always make it a point to stop by The Rabbit Patch. The food and service is awesome. The ambiance is what you'd expect for a small town. Its an old soda shop fixed up with local school mascots. The french fries are top notch and my favorite burger is the Rabid Rabbit. read more

I have driven past Atlanta for the last 13 years on trips between Houston and Arkansas, and have never strayed from the interstate turn-off or it's fast food joints and gas stations. Turns out that's been a huge mistake. There's a hidden gem in this sleepy stop on 59, and it's a mere 2 minutes from the main road. Take a turn off and suddenly you feel like Marty McFly as you look at the Old Western facade buildings with their hip shops and boutiques, piping Christmas music right into the festively decorated streets. Right on the corner, in an old drug store, is a burger dive with all the charm to please a vintage enthusiast and a menu to match. They've taken just enough of a twist on a classic menu to keep folks interested, but kept the items balanced so you're not spending 10 minutes just reading the menu. It was a few quick decisions for us and we didn't wait long for our food - it was piping hot and delicious! The Cajun-spiced fries were heavenly y'all. Our kiddos danced in their seats while they ate, listening to the music and looking at all the memorabilia. The service was friendly and you could tell these folks take pride in their work - the place was spotless. Barely out of the building and the kids are asking to stop on the way back! So do yourself a favor next time it's mealtime (or you just need a break from the kids in the car) and you're in the vicinity, stop and grab a burger or a milkshake and drink in some slow vibes for a spell.
