More un-bussed tables than clean ones, I counted 10. Overall the place is filthy. Nothing to dry hands with in ladies room. My husbands hamburger steak was unremarkable. Fried okra was very greasy. My BLT was thin with tiny pieces of bacon. Would not stop here again. read more

First time I came to Jack's, food was great got everything I wanted! Floors was very filthy, but still had great customer services. I come today 04/03/2024 at approximately 11:12 and my food was incorrect, I asked for all flats the woman who was taking my order was great and told me she will tell them. When I received my food I had drums, I simply asked if I could get all flats because that's what I paid for, the woman in the kitchen with grey hair, kind of heavy set, with glasses & older seemed to have a problem about my wanting flats saying that there wasn't anymore in the bag, but didn't say anything until AFTER I paid which was crazy. I did get help from another older woman and she was very nice and understanding...& i received a refund but the heavy set lady had an attitude that was very uncalled for. read more

Looking for a spot to stop for a quick meal, DON'T stop at Jacks. We stopped in for a quick meal and it took well over an hour to get our meal. We ordered tacos, nachos, a hamburger and a shake. The hamburger was brought out within 30 minutes, it took another 30 minutes to get the shake and then another 20 to get the tacos and nachos. The hamburger was ok, nothing special. The tacos and nachoss had some extremely salty beef and nachos with cheez whiz on top. The bottom of the plate was filled with an excessive amount of grease The servers were working hard but the place could obviously use some organization. When we orders we asked if we got get a number so they knew who to deliver the meal to, and they said we will find you. Several times they had to walk around yelling out what food they were carrying. The best kept secret in Atlanta, Texas for impressive menu variety, quick & friendly service, and, most importantly, one of the very best burgers that I have ever eaten (and I've had my share). After moving here in 2018, I pretty much stuck with the local fast food chains, and a couple of other spots. I'm almost remorseful that It's taken me two years to try Jacks. Not knowing many people locally, I didn't have the privilege of receiving a personal recommendation. However, after reading local reviews about their outstanding catfish, and noting that they had been in business for forty years, I was eager to try it. My call in order only took 10-15 minutes to prepare, and as I entered the facility, I noticed how spotlessly clean it was. It did not reak of last night's fried special, like many home style restaurants: This place was exceptionally clean. The steak fingers were as good as it gets: They were clearly breaded and seasoned by the restaurant, and the brown "cream" (steak) gravy was a great surprise. This is usually a sign of: "business going slow and we need to get as many patrons as we can", specially if we talk about a small place with pops as the main cook and mom ringing up the cashier. Plate came prompt to my table and it lived to expectations. Crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. After the first bite to my catfish, I had no second thoughts about the claim on the menu board that says "farm-raised, catfish". I'm sure my catfish was grasing with the goats the week before his funeral... The soul food experience did not stop there. Fries, cole slaw, pickled green tomatoes accompanied my Farm Boy Catfish. All good, bountyful and cooked to high-octane oil standars. Ah, the plate had also some generic Tatter Tots that perhaps came from an Ore-Ida bag, but that's OK. First few visits were in early 2020 and 2021. The service has been hit and miss where the front line server is all in or has no interest in being there at all which is reflected in every way. The menu seems extremely large and I worried about any ethnic meals missing the authenticity of flavor I would literally expect. The sandwiches listed all sound like the same sorts of things I come out of my own kitchen with for DIY meals or snacks at home. I generally have company with me to dine out and that has been the highlight of my every visit to Jack's. The dining room has been fairly busy at times. I've also had the joy of a very intimate meal where we took full advantage of the in store ice cream deserts. Eat desert first they say...so we have. It's kinda hard to mess up the classic 2 scoop cone. We have had the fish a few times and that is always good if the breading is not too over salty or grainy feeling. The hush puppies have been good but beyond that each meal has been downhill from my last there. I honestly feel as if every item is a basic brand of lower priced if not super bargain variety of products. U can 'soup' up such items tho...I know this cuz I pride myself no the tricks I personally know and practice. But the texture and resulting meals make me sure a microwave is often used as the main source of cooking. The nachos are a boat of under 15 round chips. They use maybe an ice cream scooper worth of cheese sauce. (Which even as a processed cheese can sometimes offer an anticipated 'bite' of spice that seems to be common in gas station nacho self serve pump cheese stations. But Jacks cheese lacked flavor at all. U could by request get loaded nachos and tbey add some variation of sliced jalapeño. I have come to expect a loaded nacho to have meat and sour cream, several small chopped garden veges. None of that. The hamburgers I get at concession stands... generaly smaller than the bun dried up disk of meat ... cheese that don't melt cuz they are always served with just a hint of chill still upon its outer layer. A haphazard shot of mustard and ketsup...and I must admit I've come to crave this specific not so appealing menu item at least once a year. Am only able to fill it maybe every 3... While the buns are a consistent size and fresh the meat disks have continued to shrink in size. The cheese was there In some spots but not at all in others. And we were served packets of condiments to add ourselves. I will not be returning to this establishment. I have Oneida crinkle cut fries at home. read more

We love Jack's! They have a huge variety and everything is always made to order. The British Burger is a favorite! Bacon is extra crispy and not soggy ever. I don't think we have ordered anything that we didn't like. They stay busy though so definitely avoid peak times like right after church on Sunday because the place is really small so the gets really slow, which is no fault of theirs. This place has the best catfish and the best burgers in Atlanta, TX. You should definitely stop and try the food here. Really good sweet tea too, which is rare. They make your food fresh and bring it out to you. They give you a lot of food, so be prepared if you don't eat much to get a to go box. We were driving back to Shreveport from Texarkana and stopped here for dinner. Absolutely everything we ate here was delicious. My husband loved the fish and I loved the chicken.
