First time eating at this location and I got food poisoning. Other person I bought food for also had food poisoning. Just a caution, if you're ordering thru the drive thru or not CHECK YOUR CHICKEN BEFORE YOU LEAVE, we live an hour away from the Mansfield road location and this is the 3rd time they have not put fresh chicken tenders in our family pack order. They're putting unsold/older dried out tenders in our box to take home, we're sick/tired of them doing this and wanted to warn everyone of this practice. OK. This was it. We're never coming back. We gave them opportunity after opportunity for years to get it right and they consistently fail to. This location is in dire need of new management because the current management is running this restaurant into the ground with their ineptness and it's obvious the employees couldn't care less unless the manager stays on top of things which they obviously are not doing. Why have signs saying you'll cook items fresh when you don't? You know you don't. We know you don't. You can't cook livers and chicken fresh and have it out the window in two minutes. Do you think we're idiots? Even the box is cold. The livers are like rocks. The chicken will chip a tooth and is like ice. Yet they really try to pass this off as being cooked fresh. Do not recommend the store on Mansfield Rd at all, or for chicken livers that is. Ordered earlier in the week, they were so hard it almost broke my tooth. Took them back next day to get replacement and was told no, because they didn't look like they did when I originally got them. Well, no joke, they weren't edible so I brought them back, they tried to give the box with old food back, but I refused it and drove away. read more

I love the Chicken Express on Mansfield Road in Shreveport. The employees are super nice and accommodating. You may have to wait but it is chicken. If you want freshly fried chicken pieces parts you must wait for it. My favorite is chicken livers and gizzards but I really enjoy the attitude of the young people who work there. read more

After a good experience at a Chicken Express in Arlington, TX I was anxious to try the one in Shreveport, LA even though I had a lot of bad reviews. So on 10/19/23, with fingers crossed, myself and two friends went to the Chicken Express on Mansfield Rd Shreveport, LA to dine inside for dinner, we were not disappointed. We all three ordered liver dinners and they were perfect. We were the only customers in the dining room but the drive thru was a steady line of cars, it was 5pm. When I ordered I could see a pan of livers sitting under the heat lamp so I told the young lady at the register that we would like fresh cooked livers (livers have to be fresh cooked and cannot set under a heat lamp or they will become hard and unfit to eat) so after we sat down she came to our table a said the cook was dropping a fresh basket of livers for our orders. When the orders arrived at the table they were perfect, crispy batter and soft and melt in your mouth on the inside, PERFECT !!! Staff was friendly and very helpful. So if you want good chicken or livers go inside and be willing to wait a few extra minutes to get fresh cooked and be courteous to the staff and they will be more willing to do what you want. I went to chicken express on Mansfield Rd. Shreveport la. order spicy chicken stripes every time I go there the stripes are cold so I ask for them to be hot. When I got them they were cold and the employee said they just came up LIE!!! So I ask for some hot chicken stripes, so what they did was put them back in the grease and gave them to me, They were hard as a brick, and you can't call them they have an answering machine. I would never go back. The reason I went was that classic chicken was too long, next time I'll wait for Six hours for classic chicken before I go back to chicken NASTY Express. I usually don't submit my own reviews on Yelp, however a recent visit to Chicken Express on Mansfield Rd. promted me to make an exception. One Friday evening I ordered fried gizzards. I must say that it was the worst batch of gizzards I have EVER had. The menu board indicated "Nine Pieces", but there were less than nine pieces of whole gizzard. I counted about five whole gizzards, and several pieces about the size of popcorn. These popcorn-sized pieces were cooked so hard that they were inedible, and thus discarded. Gizzard is by nature a tough meat that can't be overcooked! I don't understand why they serve small pieces of this organ meat that inevitably become inedible when fried. I have been a big fan of Chicken Express BECAUSE they have liver and gizzards on their menu, as few fast food restaurants offer them. Honestly, I have had gizzards at gas stations that are more tender and better seasoned- and at a fraction of the price that Chicken Express charges. Owners better wake up, or I can't see them staying in business serving subpar food. read more

This was definitely my first and LAST visit to chicken express. I was extremely dissatisfied with my order. The strips were dry and hard as if they had beensitting under the heat lamp for an extended period of time, even after waiting for my order for about 10 minutes. I called and spoke with an employee there who notified me to bring my order back for an exchange or a refund. Once I arrived I explained to the manager that this was an inconvenience that I had to come back to have my order re done when it should have been served properly the first time. I appreciate her professionalism but this company does not appreciate there customers. She stated that she could only exchange the meal or refund my payment after she collected the food and DRINKS. I chose the refund because I thought that is company would demonstrate a little more appreciation to there customers for inconveniencing them. In all, this company definitely lost a customer. read more

I visited a chicken express drive thru at 9430 mansfield rd in shreveport la.& ordered the 2 fish combo to go. When I got home, i tried to eat it; I must say that was some awful tasting fish,fries,hushpuppies. The fishwas like rubberly when you break a piece. the fries were cold. & hushpuppies were tough too .I first tried a chicken express in magnolia, ar. which was real good. Since then, this was my second try at this mansfield rd. it was ok that time & said to myself that I will give them one more chance to see if it gets any better. It apparrently gets worst. I go for the fish..which is prety good..get free refills on drinks..hush puppies and fish come with meal..great atmosphere... Buy everything else...... French fries.. Dipping sauce. Jalipino poppers..all are extra..but I enjoy....cost me about $12.50..with is OK..I will go back soon... read more
