I don't like mayo or chicken salad for the matter, but didn't want to be rude, so I was happy when I saw they had other options. Due to dietary restrictions, I got a small cup of poblano soup. Mind you, I'd never had it but it had protein so I figured it was worth a shot. The soup was creamier than imagined but full of flavor. I liked the crackers that came with it. The food is just okay. We tried the Classic Carol, Lemon Basil, Fruity Flan, Potato Soup, Broccoli Cheddar Soup, and dessert grapes. The amount you receive for the price though is unfortunate. A cup of soup seems to be measured in dry cups which is about 3/4 of a liquid cup. One of the soups was also served in the same container as the chicken salad which seemed odd. The chicken salad portions, which are stated as 2-3 people, are most certainly not and very confusing. But the rating was based on the service. I ordered online so human contact was minimal but couldn't have gone worse. I had a pickup time and arrived right on time. I waited patiently as a customer ahead of me struggled with an employee as he ordered with rewards. After he completed his order, I was left standing as staff walked around and chatted with each other. Then they returned to the cash register and were discussing something amongst themselves. After what I imagine to be 5-10 minutes, an employee finally asked if I needed something. I said "I placed an online order to be picked up 10 minutes ago." The employee responded that they thought I had already received my food. Why would anyone be standing at the counter waiting? For assistance, obviously. It shouldn't matter if someone had received their food already or not. In my case, I had not. But if a customer is standing at the counter, please acknowledge them. I wont be back. read more

This is such a great concept: tons of recipes for chicken salad and all of them are delicious. Fancy Nancy has been my go to. Cranberry Kelly is tasty too. The service is typically wonderful. One nice young man helped my girlfriend and I decide what to do and provided all his recommendations. My only issue with this place is the smell. Every single time you walk in the door, you are hit with a heavy chemical smell. I'm glad they're keeping the place clean but geez the smell is overwhelming. So, I kind of love this place. Chicken Salad Chick is a chain that has recently blasted into the greater St. Louis area and I'm so glad that they came here. I've tried a few varieties of the chicken salad options (they also let you try samples so take advantage if you're unsure of what to get), and out of everything I've tried my absolute favorite is the Buffalo Barclay! It's a blend of buffalo sauce and chicken salad and it's so, so good-not too spicy but definitely has a kick. I get that with the trio combo, meaning a croissant sandwich, an extra scoop, grape salad, and drink. The grape salad is excellent here. I'm not a big fan of grapes and I hate nuts, but the blend of those ingredients with mayo (I believe) and sugar make for a dynamite compliment to the chicken salad. Grab your own drinks and head to a table with a table with a floral tablecloth. It is cheery and bright with lots of natural sunlight. They also have a large outdoor patio for dining. I have found the best deal to be the Chicken Salad Sandwich with comes with one side. That side item can be a scoop of another Chicken Salad, Egg Salad, or Pimento Cheese. Ordering this way allows you to taste many two different Chicken Salads but also gives you plenty of leftovers for another Full Meal. Close to 13 bucks for a "large" container of chicken salad and it'll only make about 4 sandwiches. I got two kinds of chicken salad and some pimento cheese. The barbecue chicken salad was good but not spectacular. The other chicken salad had onions and I liked it better. TL:DR - Great place if you really want chicken salad and nothing else. Unique flavors that are able to stand out on their own. The salad itself is a bit mayo heavy, but that's the good part right? They do offer samples. Wait for food after ordering was ridiculous though. Ok, I feel like I need to preface my review with this: IT'S JUST CHICKEN SALAD. I don't want people seeing 4 stars and thinking, o man, I should take out-of-towners here. A 5 star rating here is not the same as a 5 star for pappy's. This place is good FOR CHICKEN SALAD, but in the bigger scheme of things, it's ok. That being said, it's really good chicken salad. They have a huge variety of chicken salad flavors, each with a very distinct taste but still good overall. It's not like gooey butter cake, where it just has a hint of it's "flavor" but still just tastes primarily of gooey butter cake. I got the Kickin Kay Lynn, and it was delicious. I believe it's a mix of ranch, bacon, cheese, buffalo sauce, and sriracha. Amazing combination. Any scoop you get, you can make into a sandwich, which is how I prefer it. I also got a loaded bake potato soup, which was fine, but there's a reason they're known for their salad and not their soups. I think I do prefer chips as a side, simply because it's a great crunch contrast to the chicken salad. I will say as far as chicken salad goes, this one is a bit mayo heavy, which is why it's good. Outside of that, the lady that took our order was super friendly, and in a very genuine way. That was nice. My only gripe was with the wait. For a group of four people, we easily waited 20 min. You would think with chicken salad, it would have been relatively pre-made (I mean, they gave us samples almost immediately). But it took 20 min, which was ridiculous. Overall, I feel like I'd always be more likely to go to the gyro place next door unless I'm really craving a chicken salad.
