Decided to try this place for the 1st time. It was after the lunch hour. Service was prompt and staff was helpful and friendly. Ordered 3 croissant sandwiches and all were good. My complaint is that the portion of chicken salad on the bread was underwhelming. Had to open the sandwich to find any meat. Unless you order an extra scoop if meat you'll be eating mostly bread. Rather dissatisfied with that. I rather pay more for a decent chicken salad sandwich then have to search for the meat. Been to several French bistros and they all gave you plenty of meat on the croissant, even spilling over the sides. I'll probably go back but will ask for an extra portion of meat. But for what they charge you'd think they would give you a reason to return. read more

First time here and I enjoyed it. I had the chicken Salad with basil and lemon on a crescent; it was just a little dry but very good. Tried the pimento cheese, it was excellent. Plenty of seating, you can call ahead. And they have a drive through. read more

This is a must go to! I'm not a huge fan of chicken salad, but this place changed my mind. The chicken salad doesn't have too much mayonnaise in it, it's just right. I've had the Classic Carol and Sassy Scott and both have been great! The price is a little high, but you get what you pay for. Definitely worth going. read more

My absolute favorite place! My coworker and I believe we've established an addiction! Drive thru can be slow at times but it's always quality every time. My favorites are Jalapeño Holly and Cranberry Kelly. I could eat at this restaurant every day if I could afford it lol! read more

Went to them for the first time because I'm a chicken salad freak...literally can eat it everyday. I prefer homemade chicken salad because it just tastes good. I had high hopes for this place, but was braced for disappointment. When I first went in, the restaurant was bright and cheerful, and I was greeted by the hostess who opened the door for me. They have prepackaged containers (small and large) in a case before you place any orders you want. As of 12/31/18, the small containers are $6.99, and the large are $10.99. I was told the small was enough for three people, and I believe that if the three people are like 6 years old. The small will make two thin-ish sandwiches, but realistically, one and half good sandwiches. Not sure how much the large will make, but it looks like the equivalent of two to two and a half of the small containers. Each container is marked on the bottom with an expiration date. Everything I bought had a five day use by date (including the day I bought it). They also had super large containers of salads. They looked good, but I didn't buy any of those. So I purchased Dixie Chick, which is mayo, celery, onions, and salt. This is my favorite out of everything I bought because it tastes like my mom's homemade chicken salad. I eat heavy salt on all my food, so I'm doctoring this up with more salt and some pepper...But this is as close to perfection as chicken salad will ever get! My new go to chicken salad (in the large size). I also got Sassy Scotty, which is chicken salad with ranch, bacon, and cheddar cheese. This is not a flavor combination I usually enjoy, but I bought it thinking I could use it on crackers as an appetizer. Remember I said I eat heavy salt? This had a LOT of salt, and to me, it verged on too salty. I will not buy this one ever again (but, to be fair, I'm not crazy about bacon on anything but BLT's and with breakfast). My cat loved it though. Next was Fruity Fran with apples, grapes, and pineapple. To me this is not sandwich chicken salad. It's more in the crackers or appetizer category. Or, like I did, use a fork and eat it straight out of the container. It was very, very, very good. Definitely will buy again. Jalapeno Holly was my last chicken salad pick. It's got little diced jalapenos with all the seeds removed. It's mildly spicy and slightly warm (jalapeno heat, not temp). I could see eating this on a sandwich. We used the crackers (Townhouse crackers are delicious with all these chicken salads!!). Will buy again. I also bought two of their Frosted Flower Cookies. The cookie is soft, mildly sweet, and very tasty. Then they put frosting on it. They're okay, not great. One cookie is $1.99, which is a lot for an okay cookie. Will not buy again. I don't remember the name, but they had a packaged dessert that was a chocolate rice crispy like treat with other stuff stuck in it. Sorry, I know that's vague, but you will know when you see it. I took one bite and threw it away. I like sweets but that was so sweet only a kid could like it. Will never ever buy again. Last was their Grape Salad. It's made with green and red grapes in a wonderful sauce made with cream cheese. And then they toss pecans and brown sugar on top. I don't know where they get their grapes, but they burst in your mouth with juicy goodness. The grapes are plump and huge. So, so good. I ordered a side portion for $2.79. A woman's cupped hand is about the portion size of the Grape Salad side. This salad also comes in huge container for $9.99. Next time, and there will be a next time, I'm getting the large! Overall, this is my new favorite place to eat. It's not cheap. My order cost $57, but I was buying multiple flavors just to try them. The restaurant is clean and brightly lit. Employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Loved the touch of the hostess at the front door. But the most important part is the food. It's really good and fresh tasting. Like with any restaurant, you won't like all the flavors or dishes, but I'm going to test them all. And I can't wait. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Not really my husband's thing, but I brought him a "Sassy Scotty" home today and now he's hooked too! Everything is wonderful, but my personal fave is the Spicy Pimento Cheese sandwich with a scoop of Lauryn's Lemon Basil. The McDonough store is always super friendly and clean too!
