The food was delicious. The brisket was good just not seasoned as well I would have liked. The collards were delicious, the cheddar cornbread is to die for. The potato salad, Mac and cheese, and beans were also delicious. The wings, and chicken tenders were delicious as well as seasoned. They give nice servings for the cost compared to other places. I haven't had the chance to eat inside this location yet as I'm always using the drive thru. The baked potato is my go to! You can get smoked turkey, pulled pork, or chicken on top, as well as cheese, bacon, and sour cream. It really is a full, well rounded meal within itself. The potato also comes with a side of cheese biscuits but I give them to the kiddos (not gluten free). The drive through service is always quick and friendly. I eat here at least once a week or several times a month. The value of the potato is worth it. read more

It's the fourth, so why not try a new BBQ place? I chose this place because I have heard so many great things. I was told it can get busy on a regular day, but on the Fourth of July, it could get very busy. Well, it was busy, but the wait was reasonable, maybe twenty minutes at the most. Plus, there is plenty of seating while you wait, and there's a really nice bar if you want to sit there and dine. Now, the wait gave me a chance to talk to the many people waiting to be seated who had been there a dozen times to tell me their favorites on the menu. The consensus was that everything was good. So, I ordered the lean brisket, which was very lean and well seasoned, the way I like it. The BBQ sauce was a first for me. They had several sauces, and all were good, from heavy to lite. But it was the lite sauce that was my favorite. I could still taste the spices and the goodness of the brisket without the sauce overpowering the flavor. I love a lite sauce, but most places only have heavy sauces. I have to brag on the macaroni and cheese, it was good. It was not overly cheesy, and the noodles were not mushy or chewy; it was nice and plump. Now, of course, I indulge in other people's plates. The turkey was super moist, sliced just right, not thin or thick. The ribs were tender, and one bite could pull the meat straight from the bone. The Carolina BBQ sauce added more flavor, but there are plenty more sauces to choose from, too. The cheese biscuits, I would say, are the star of the show. Those little bites before the entree are a dream. It has a smooth, creamy butter that comes on the side. Anyone can easily eat ten before the main course comes out. Those biscuits are so yummy you will be too full to eat your main course. So just eat two if you can control yourself. read more

Historically speaking I have always very much enjoyed Jim 'N Nick's BBQ. This time was a bit different/odd. When we first arrived around 2PM (they open around 11AM) we were not greeted with a "Hello, welcome to Jim 'N Nick's", but rather an immediate statement "I want you to know we have no ribs left, I hope that is OK". When we looked at each other and shrugged a bit and said we could find something else on the menu, the first statement was followed up with "oh, and nobody has wrapped silverware so I'm going to give you plasticware". Aside from the rather off-putting arrival, the server was courteous and the food was well prepared. However I must say, how could the restaurant general manager not plan food quantities properly for a weekend afternoon? How do you run out of ribs within a 4 hours of opening when you are scheduled to be open until 9PM?? I likely will not return to this location. read more

The loaded backed potatoes is a must! It's delicious and jammed packed with flavor i got it with the pulled pork this time but the brisket is top tier also. The serving size of the side is a bit underwhelming but the baked beans are pretty decent and seasoned well with meat added to them. I'm also a big fan of their Daves Lemonade which is a good combination of sweet and tart. The restaurant was a bit cold so i had to go and grab by jacket but the service was really good at this location so I'd recommend checking them out. read more

I usually get the combo plate (3 meats) so I can take some home. My go to is the turkey, brisket and pork. I love the bbq sauces that come with them. I am not on pain medication but was on speaker phone. I saw on the Jim & Nick's web site they advertise that they deliver. I called and spoke with the boy who answered the phone as a Delivery Specialist. This brat told me to "speak clearly", then told me they do not Deliver. He was rude,. I'll spend the $70 at a place who is polite and has better customer service. I do not trust brats like that handling my food. read more

One of my worst food experiences ever!! I stopped into the McDonough location while out shopping and the food was sub par to say the least. I ordered the catfish meal with a baked potato and greens. The fish was ok, my potatoe was barely luke warm, as the cheese would not even melt. I did like the greens but the serving was so small. The bread came to the table about 20 minutes into our meal and looked hardly done(very pale in color). My daughter had the smoked wings but they were pink in color (near the bone) and we sent them back. The tea wasn't even sweet yesterday! We stopped by after hearing great things about the bbq here. You order at a counter and they bring the food to your table. The service all around was great. We tried almost everything on the menu, except for the fried items. We will do that the next time we are in town. All of the bbq meats were excellent, with a good smoke ring and very tender. The brisket was fall apart soft, chicken had a deep smoked flavor and I hate turkey, but their was so moist that I wanted more. The cornbread muffins are complimentary and yummy. The greens were good but I needed more salt. I was not a huge fan of the mac and cheese but it wasn't bad, just not my preference. The corn on the cob in the butter sauce wrapped in foil, was so good, I had to order 3 more to go for my mom. All the sides were good for the most part.
