I decided on something a lighter tonight and thought Chicken Salad Chick would do the trick. I have not been in a while and they went up on their prices since the last time I went. I think pretty much everyone has. I got the Kicking Kay Lynne Chicken Salad this time. It was also very good! It has just the right amount of spices in it. I also got the Potato Soup with Bacon and Cheese. This was some of the best soup I have had in a while. The only reason I pulled a star this time. I just felt the amount of food vs. what I spent was a little off. If I spend over $20 for a quick meal like this I don't expect to get small portions. The soup was in a very small bowl for the price and my chicken salad portion also didn't seem right for the cost. I didn't even get any bread or anything. Its also one of the cheapest meats on the market (Barnyard Pimp) That being said I would have given them a 4.5 if it was a option. The food was still very good! This was my first visit to this restaurant. I was impressed. The restaurant is following the COVID-19 protocols. The staff wears masks and gloves. The food is brought to your table, the staff fills your drink cups for you. I would suggest reviewing the menu online before stopping in, if you never tried this place. There can be a small amount of information overload when you place your order at the counter. Social distancing is in place and since it is a small restaurant you can find yourself closer to others in certain parts of the seating area. There is also outside seating. Curbside pick up and takeout are available as well. I had the trio, Classic Carol chicken salad sandwich, potato soup, which was pretty good and a sweet tea. Had lunch here today. Counter service was really good. All the staff there were helpful and accommodating as we tasted several flavors of chicken salad. I ordered Olivia's Old South on croissant with a side of baked lays. My guest ordered Fancy Nancy on croissant with lettuce and tomato. My croissant seemed old and was a bit crusty. I also didn't think I had enough chicken salad on my bread. My guests sandwich looked a lot better than mine did. The bread was stuffed with chicken salad and a nice piece of lettuce and tomato. I've been seeing these Chicken Salad Chicks pop up everywhere, but I didn't really know what they were about. The chicken salad was kind of blah, but as I said, it's not my favorite thing in the world. I had the onion flavored one and I found it to only have a hint of onion. I tried to do a little google search to find out about the quality they claim their products to have and I couldn't find anything. I found that it started out as an illegal business defying health regulations, but I couldn't find any claims about their chicken. Lots of people just buy canned chicken to make theirs. I'm sure they don't make anything in house. I'm sure it's just like Baskin Robins where everything comes in on a truck and they just open the right tub and start scooping out of it. On a positive note, service was good and the place was clean. The value was reasonable too. Some people brag about the cookies. I didn't care for it. Too cakey. I ordered three flavors of chicken salad: "Classic Carol, Fruity Fran and the Cranberry Kelli". I was not expecting anything that would "Wow me" over, but to my surprise I was wrong. All three were wonderfully flavorful prepared. I also received a cup of soup to complete my order; which I must say I was pleased. The most popular flavor I was told, was called " Lauryn's Lemon Basil, so if you visit, let me know what you think of that flavor? As for pricing, expect to pay between $8-10 on average, depending on your order. This is a great yet simple concept that is a great niche. I will be back for sure! It was the tiniest little piece of pie I've ever seen. I would've been upset how tiny it was if I'd actually liked the pie. That tiny piece was more of a tease than a full dessert. The place is cute inside and very clean, has a homey feel and the staff is friendly - the manager even remembered me from my previous visit. My favorite part though is the attention to detail - I ordered mine with no pickle and it was platted with one but I heard the manager send it back before it left to be redone telling her staff you never know what kind of allergies people have. I have a pickle aversion not an allergy but do you know how many times other places in town put it on my plate anyway - I'm looking at you mcalisters. Went in on 5/10 to take advantage of the BOGO free on the large quick chicks for Mother's Day. Probably would have gone in any way since I usually eat there at least twice a week. Doing the low carb diet and the Classic Carol is a natural. The only large quick chicks in the cooler were dated packaged on 5/6 and best by 5/10. Since it was already 5/10, I walked up to the counter and asked the young lady if they could prepare me 2 fresh portions. A tall young man with reddish brown hair and a goatee overheard our conversation and proceeded over to the cooler to grab the 2 containers that I had already disqualified. I told him that I didn't want those and explained why. He said that I must be mistaken, and they were probably marked packaged on 5/10. I turned the package over to show him the dates and he kept pointing at the 5/10 date. I told him if he would take time to read the label it clearly stated packaged on 5/6 best by 5/10. When he finally did read the label, he proceeded to throw the containers down onto the counter as he marched back into the kitchen saying, "Okay I'll get you some more". Soon after 2 fresh containers dated best by 5/15 appeared through the window, but I never saw that young man again. I was hoping for a half-way apology or a sorry about the confusion or something.
