Gus's chicken is always amazing it satisfies the taste for fried chicken right between mildly spicy chicken and very spicy hot chicken, Gus chicken is always fresh crispy, hot and delicious, prices are a little on the high side if you want white meat, however you will not be disappointed with the portions. Sides are simple, uncomplicated and tasty, pork n beans are unassumingly delicious, they don't look like much but are very, very good. They also serve alcohol at this location, which makes for one heck of a chicken dinner experience. On my last visit chicken was piping hot, however the sides could have been hotter, nonetheless still an excellent dining experience in a clean, cozy and restaurant with a southern feel to it.

Great food and amazing atmosphere. The spice kick in every bite is yummy. Slaw, fried Okra and potato salad a must. Shout out to Mr Sincere for his hospitality and the post vibe lady by the cashier.

I ordered Gus chicken white meat, but I got dark dry pieces, orka slightly burned.

The waiter we had was being trained and that made the experience better. We got the attention of two waiters. This place was not busy at all. I think there were only 4 parties there. This place deserves a lot more business. For drinks, I ordered the Peach Martini and Long Island. The Peach Martini was a little too sweet for my taste and I couldn't taste the alcohol. The long island was good. I ordered the Creamy Cajun Pasta. It is not as big as it looks in the pictures but it packs a ton of flavor. They seared the sausage on both sides and thinly sliced it. Everything about the dish was perfection. The apple cobbler was also very good. Be patient with this place because they will be out of certain menu items but the food you get will be wonderful.

I definitely enjoyed the convenience of it being in the Cordova area as well as the ambiance. The art and music were definitely a plus. I had the pasta, which was fine. It was nothing to write home about; however, it seemed that the night I went, they were understaffed. The bar area was particularly quite slow. However, the servers and the bartenders were all nice and doing the best that they could. I will be back to try it again. It is a great stop for a no-frills, relaxing time near the house if you life in the suburbs of Memphis and don't want to make a drive to have a good time.

The hostess seated my wife & I and our server Carter did N excellent job for us. The restaurant is large and well spaced out. It is also clean and the ambiance is a home type feel. We started with the Fried pickles cooked in fresh oil and came out hot. The country dip is good. Basically roast beef cut up and provolone melted cheese on top within a roll plus an au jou dipping sauce. It's chunkier than a normal French dip but it is good. Flavor wise, it was average and could have been seasoned a bit more. The beef is barely above the bland side as far as pot roast beef is concerned. However, combined together the components elevate the sandwich. It's worth the try to see if one would like it. French fries were good and freshly lightly salted. Cole slaw was basic. Not too creamy but also not sweet. My wife got the fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken. It was good and you will notice the grilled flavoring on the chicken. For me, the food could have benefited from a bit more seasoning but that is subjective. The meals were well worth the cost and Pop's deserves to be on anyone's go to eateries if you want good comfort dining.

That was our second good decision as more people started arriving while we were there and as we were leaving. The service was good and ,even though it was starting to fill up, the food came out pretty quickly. I pray people exercise patience with this place because things could become hectic if the place becomes crowded. Now the food.........oh my goodness the food. My wife ordered the catfish and grits. I got the peach cobbler waffle with smothered potatoes and a side of eggs. That waffle is one of the most decadent breakfast dishes I've ever eaten. One reviewer said it was too sweet for her taste. As a person who loves sweets, this thing was perfect!! I didn't even need the syrup! Everything was seasoned to perfection! We will definitely be back.

The interior is not pretentious by any means and as a matter of fact there's a very neighborhood feel. You have to order for the counter and the young man running it (one of the owners I'm assuming) was exceptionally kind. I immediately picked the catfish and grits and it came out to my table in about 6 min. The fish was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The grits were amazing. All in all I had an absolutely wonderful experience and can't wait to come back and try more!!
