The best chicken pita I've had...hands down! It was my first time here, and I'm pretty sure that was obvious the second I walked in. After living my entire adult life in North Mississippi and trying the same restaurants in the area, I'm so excited about this restaurant. So many choices, on the menu I almost froze up. I've never in my life tried lamb, but now I'm officially intrigued... I'll be back for that. Fair warning: you've got to walk in knowing what you want. We passed through Southaven on the way back home from the beach. After reading yelp reviews, we opted for Pita. It was further off 55 than I expected and we almost turned around but I'm glad we didn't. The restaurant is clean and Staff are so friendly. The food was terrific. My chicken shawarma wrap was the best I've had. My husband loved his lamb chops. It can be hard to find good lamb that isn't gamey. Portions were large with the wrap. Two people could share. I come here fairly often to get my Mediterranean fix. The food in my opinion is very good! I always get the Spicy Grilled Salsa to start. With pita bread. Its pretty spicy. This is rare to get something listed as Spicy and it actually be spicy for my taste. I also got the Lamb and Beef Shawarma Platter (Another Favorite) The meat was very flavouful and the rice was cooked great (As per usual) The young lady that took our order was on the ball. The inside is alway clean and nice looking. If you have a spouse or kid that dont like Mediterranean. They have a very good Cheeseburger. This place is actually my wifes favorite for a burger. This works out since, I like everything else Mediterranean. I have come here just to pick up fresh Pita Bread. I think they make it fresh daily. I have every shopping need possible met in my own neighborhood, except for one--meals at Pita Mediterranean Grill. We found this location early last year, and have returned on multiple occasions even though it is 2-3 times farther from our house than other comparable restaurants. It's just really that good! The falafel platter is filling and delicious, the service is attentive and very helpful, and the ambience is calming and refreshing. It is the kind of place you return to for a good experience, and always leave it even better than expected! I've already reviewed this restaurant a couple times in the last few months but I thought it warranted one more review to discuss a vibe that you pick up when you eat here. So, the food is excellent. It's not particularly fast service but that's not an issue. But the vibe that I get every time I eat here is one of harried and frustrated service. Don't get me wrong - they are super friendly and we really enjoy the place. But the owners and staff seem very busy, very....overwhelmed, frustrated, and just kinda all over the place. The term "chicken with its head cut off" comes to mind. I mean, it's good that they're busy and I understand that. But I kinda feel bad for them because of how overwhelmed they seem. The portions are large and I happily ate leftovers for two meals at home. The hummus paired with the soft and delicious pita was incredible. The cucumber salad with fresh peppermint I had never had before and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. We ate the pickled veggies as an appetizer and we all loved the high quality olives. Great new place that's a wonderful change from all the burger, chicken and BBQ places around here. Went there to get a chicken shawarma that I'd not had since my time in Saudi Arabia. My family of 3 stay overnight in Southaven about once a year on our way home from visiting family in Illinois. This area off I-55 is filled with chain restaurants, bbq places and Mexican food. My daughter and I shared a gyro platter and my husband got the chicken schwarma platter and a hummus appetizer. The meet is sliced thin (which I liked but he didn't care as much for). It's well flavored, heavier on cumin (I think?). The rice is aromatic style. The salad is tomato, cucumber, and parsley. It was okay. I prefer lettuce. The hummus was smooth and the pita kind of fluffy. The restaurant is roomy but not too big or small. It's decorated a bit kitschy but has some ambiance to it.
