Man.... Do I hope that they can keep it going once the corporate trainers leave!!! Brand new, just opened, in beautiful, crime free, Olive Branch, MS! I gave them a week or so before I dined in because the first time I showed up it was crazy busy with people everywhere! Not down for chaos. Chain BBQ is usually not my kind of gig. I have only had one experience with this place, and it was in the drive thru in Cordova. It was fair at very best, I never returned, so I was skeptical as to what I might receive. I've been watching them build this place for what seems like a year and had no idea what it was. About 3 months ago I saw the smokers out front and deduced its BBQ. I should have just googled it, but the suspense was great. I have to admit I am a bit excited to have a new BBQ option in my town. There is no good BBQ in Olive Branch currently. None. I have to drive to Byhalia to Jimbo's to get decent que. This is why I hope they can maintain the food quality. I need this! I did not realize it was an order at the counter type of place. The cashiers were nice and the trainers standing over their shoulders made sure they pushed the right buttons. I breezed through the menu only to realize I am only here to try the brisket, what am I doing looking at the menu? So, I ordered brisket, "fatty", and was corrected to "marbled". Let me be me trainer lady! It's priced right at about $28 for the plate. It comes with two sides. Brisket prices are too high so I get it. I saw like $4.89 at Costco. You lose more than half of the weight when you cook one so that's almost $10 a pound. Man, I was so on edge to see what I would get. What will it be? Suspense is killing me. I get my number, grab my drink, and have a seat. SURPRISE! They give these little muffin cheese cornbread things when you sit down. They are good, a bit different, some cornmeal in it maybe. They also give you honey butter to add to them. Yum. Yum. Plate arrives.... OK Jim & Nick.... I see you. It looks amazing!!! I tasted the sides first. I like the baked beans a good bit. They are well balanced with veggies and pork. Pretty tasty. Would get again! I almost like the Mac & Cheese. It grew on me a bit as I ate it, so I will probably try it again. It's a béchamel base and I do like that! It had a big thick cheese crust that was solid. Don't love that. It will do though. It's better than anyone else around Mac. Brisket is perfect!!! I mean down to the pepper granule size. Flavor, texture, appearance, bend, fattiness, salt content, smoke penetration, moisture, all 100% on point! Thrilled to say the least. I ate every single bite of the brisket! Wonderful! Great! Lovely! Fantastic!! Bravo! Jim & Nicks! Please keep this up!! I must have caught the attention of the table near me with all of the picture taking, talking to myself, and the uncontrollable food squeals I'm making when I ate it. They got the pulled pork, it was also their first time visiting, and they said they were really happy with the meal. The sauce looked orange/red on their pork so I wonder which sauce they got. I have to admit--I was a little skeptical about trying Jim 'N Nick's. I'd eaten at the original location in Birmingham before, and honestly, it just wasn't a memorable experience. But this Olive Branch location completely changed my mind! Considering it was opening weekend, I expected long waits and a little chaos. Instead, I was impressed by how organized everything was. Yes, there was a line at the door, but it moved so efficiently that we were able to order our food and cocktails before we were even seated. Once we sat down, our server greeted us immediately and was professional, friendly, and genuinely accommodating. My cocktail arrived in less than three minutes, giving me the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy it before dinner. My husband and I ordered the baby back ribs with collard greens, mac and cheese, fresh fruit, and the complimentary cornbread. OMG...every single bite was delicious! Everything tasted fresh, perfectly prepared, and our food was on the table in about 15 minutes. The outdoor patio with misting fans is a fantastic touch for these hot Mississippi summer days, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal outside. Will I be back? Absolutely! Without a doubt. We tried the new Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q in Olive Branch, Mississippi today, and overall, it was a great experience! We ordered the 3-meat plate and everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The cheddar sausage was absolutely delicious, and the brisket was tender and flavorful. The turkey was okay--not bad, just not one of my personal favorites. For the sides, the mac & cheese was the star of the show--creamy, hot, cheesy, and delicious! The potato salad was also very good. One thing I really enjoyed was the variety of barbecue sauces: White Sauce - mayo-based with a slight vinegar tang (More of a cajun sauce! Original BBQ Sauce - my favorite, with just the right touch of sweetness and vinegar Hot Habanero Honey BBQ Sauce - my husband's favorite, bringing a little heat with a touch of sweetness Overall, I give Jim 'N Nick's an 8/10 . This new location has a lot of activity and is different from the one I have been to in Memphis. We were greeted by a host and a table earmarked, but you stand in line to order food first before finding a seat. We shared smoked wings, deviled eggs, Mac and cheese, greens, and a brisket plate. All of the food was hot and fresh even the free cheese biscuits brought out before our food came. We were able to order a cocktail at the counter and it was delivered to the table as well and both were good (old fashioned and a lemon drop). Today was my 3rd time eating from this restaurant. Today I ordered cole slaw with my half rack of ribs and it was horrible. I never had coleslaw that taste like that, and the baby back ribs were to spicy this time. I was told you never buy barbecue during the holidays at a restaurant and I regrets I did. I heard a lot about this place and kept passing it as it was being built in olive branch. I finally went at noon on a Thursday, it was packed but the lines moved quickly. First the smell draws you in from the parking lot, the staff were very friendly and helpful, as I explained it was my first time. The place is not that big but feels cozy and there is covered seating outside. I decided to order take out, there is a separate line for this, the young lady was very helpful. I got the brisket plate with Mac and cheese and collard greens as the sides, jalapeño sausage on the side, the pulled pork nachos( deconstructed) and the chocolate cream pie. Everything was delicious and great portions, I hate on this for 2 days with some help from my daughter. I liked the pulled pork but didn't care for one of the seasonings on the nachos. The food taste pretty good when we come to eat here the customer service is wonderful they greet you at the door the facility is nice and clean the thing that I did not like was one visit while I was waiting on a to go order an employee was in the kitchen touching customer's food with no gloves wiping his hands on his pants some food spilled out of the container on to the counter he started picking up the food with his fingers (bare no gloves) placing it back into the customers container I'm sorry but that made my appetite leave everyone had on gloves except him and he was a manager!! We came for dinner tonight for the first time, it was very clean inside and they have a very nice outside patio with fans as well! You order at the counter and they bring you your food to the table you choose to sit at . The food didn't take long at all to get to the table, the combo pick two with brisket and spare ribs was good, I liked the brisket better than the spare ribs(a bit salty for me) and I will try the baby back ribs next time. Mac n cheese was good, baked beans were really good as well as the biscuits they give you with cheese! Service was very friendly and multiple workers stopped by at times to ask if everything was good and if we needed anything, we were also greeted at the door when we arrived and were told how to order and choose our table. Service was ok. We got the waitress with an attitude... literally she didn't want to be there on a Monday at 2pm.... anything we asked for was a bother. It was so obvious the other waiters and manager came to help cuz we didn't see her again. Sometimes you can overdue it with the smell of BBQ smoked ....it was a lot ....at first I was really loving it and then I couldn't stand it. The food was served lukewarm at best ... We ordered 3-meats plate with two sides and bbq pulled/chopped pork nachos. The food came out super fast but I wouldn't have minded if they served it on a hot plate. Had my 1st experience yesterday and it's mostly positive. The star here might be the service and the sides. The little cheese biscuits were additive. One thing you notice about the meat and the restaurant is the lack of smokiness.
